So interesting. Thanks for the video.
You should also talk a little on the motors used on the KafaTek grinders. They are just better motors than you can find on other grinders. I just hate it when a grinder jams. You never have to worry about this with the KafaTek grinders.
wrong, at low rpm + light coffee, kafatek grinders will stall like anything else, that's just the reality of how electric motors work, low rpm = less torque
I managed to stall my MC6 recently while experimenting with some very light beans from The Picky Chemist. I turned back to my Flat with Shuriken LM burrs and there was no more stalling.
@@tommihommi1 Wrong. Low RPM = more torque. It stalls because it's underpowered
Gears and ratios also play a role, as you can take a weaker motor and generate more torque. So it’s not just the motor that matters
Managed to accidentally stall my Kafatek Titan Flat but it was at like an impractical and ridiculously slow 20rpm or 50rpm at espresso grind size with a very dense coffee. It has a reverse gear which is good but still had to open it up and clean it out before it would work again. I was a bit worried I killed it but it was fine. I wouldn't say they're underpowered and above 100rpm you probably won't ever have a problem besides it being slow to grind.
Very interesting video, really loved to hear about this design process!👍
expecting my LMs in October :)
So interesting
I was just thinking, maybe seasoning for horizontal flat burr grinders can be sped up by mounting the static burr the other way around halfway through the process?
Hey Brian, how do they taste compared to the non blind version?
And for someone that love the LabSweet burrs, which one should I take, SLM or SWW?
Thanks mate
It's an independently variable dual burr grinder isn't it?
I have a July 24 MAX 2. Is there any plan to do a blind burr conversion kit as I would like to buy one.
Ow man, I have some many ideas of burr geometries. I wish I could reach out this guy to tell him 😂
First!
No offense but there is no way a two dude basement company can reach the same level of manufacturing precision and QA that would warrant the price tag
Wait…most of the research papers come from the academic labs looks like this video…
You watched the Factory Tour video and still came to that conclusion?
It's actually the reverse. Bulk manufacturing could never reach the precision of each of these grinders.
@@madpup1278would the use of a CNC machine be considered bulk manufacturing? If so, then CNC > manual for making burs.
I think you're wrong. Dennis is absolutely obsessive about quality control.
