Tbh the whole “sculpt your own island” thing seems like a pretty big twist to me. They’re really laying into the whole customization thing. I love it.

I love it but i wish the island was bigger we've been stuck with this town size for ages it's a bit lame. Having other shapes and not a square island would also be great.
But otherwise the game really looks lovely.

The Nook intros every day can't possibly be as repetitive and pointless as listening to Pearl and Marina every time I switch on Splatoon 2
and even that aint terrible
@@GamingWithCalvin1 yeah P&M only take like 30 seconds tops, 35 if Salmon Run is hiring , since you can skip through their dialogue. It can feel tedious after playing it for over a year, but it's charming. It wouldn't feel like Splatoon if you didn't sit and watch the news every time. It really helps flesh out the world, and I think Tom Nook doing his own daily newscast is a great way to remind players of what's happening on that day. This is ESPECIALLY true for younger players, or people who lead busy lives, and might not remember what particular event or birthday is happening, every single day of the year.
People also forget, Animal Crossing runs in REAL TIME, if you boot it up at midnight, it will be midnight in game. That festival you were told about a month ago? Still on, and I appreciate the reminders haha.

-Graphics look absolutely top-notch, and have improved since the initial trailer.
-Museum looks stunning. Celeste looks cute. Dunno where Blathers is.
-The Designer Permit? I was at the brink of squealing with joy.
-Choosing house locations for villagers will be great.
Overall, this game is going to be just... the most.

i definitely recommend looking into the other animal crossing games! (specifically new leaf) all the games have their own little charms!
I liked New Leaf, but I felt like there was nothing to do with it. This game has so much to do and the Nook Milage system will help new players discover what they can do without looking it up. Can’t wait for this.

It's going to be hard to go back and play the older games after this one, I feel like. There's just so much freedom and quality of life coming our way. I think the only exception might be the GameCube version, simply because there wasn't really customization of your town to begin with there.
The gc has charm and class no other ac could bring

Animal Crossing stayed true to itself and its concept, keeping features the players love while revising many that used to be tedious. It introduced new devices to make the gameplay flow better. The game makes amazing use of the Switch's capabilities, enhancing everything from models to textures, movement and environment, yet beautifully implemented its own style onto this new system. There is a lot of free content coming soon, much of it seasonal, but there might be basic add-ons (remember the gifts New Leaf gave us!). It ties into former games and trinkets without much of an issue, so you can keep in touch with your most beloved characters easily.

i was with you until your last line. is the pokemon community so toxic that they must compare apples to oranges? it doesnt matter if you love, hate or are somewhere in between for the company, the scenarios have too many factors that dont line up to be properly compared. here is just one: a moderately successful series vs the largest grossing multimedia franchise of all time. size alone means expectations relying on such details are always flawed. Gamefreak has made other games, and every single one is smaller than even animal crossing. They know what works for the gold that fell in their lap for pokemon, but have no experience in making anything else that has high enough quality to justify matching pokemon's income, which could easily be seen as just dumb luck. Fans and haters expect more than GF has the knowledge to deliver on, then they blame GF for not meeting those expectations. I will not get into a deeper debate over this on an animal crossing video, just know there are many out there who would go to war over that last line.

I honestly didn't expect any response whatsoever, thank you all, he sadly went last Thanksgiving due to a heart attack, and that he thought it was just bad indigestion and was complaining about for a while leading up to it, and none of us saw it coming. Was actually the 22nd I believe and went in the night/morning of (in his sleep at least) but we were meant to have a meal at his mother's house that day. He played some New Leaf here and there, and I think he would've been ecstatic to see all this.

I watched this direct with a gigantic goofy smile on my face, my last AC game was "Let's go to the city!" so I am looking forward to returning to this series
I've played all of them minus DS at some point within the current timeline, and I also had this giant goofy grin on my face!
With how Big Ol' Nintendaddy has been acting lately with other games, I watched this with skepticism, thinking they would totally put in microtransactions or whatnot.
I love being proved wrong on these things... Now I have to decide if my belated b-day present will be Mystery Dungeon DX or ACNH.

I always hated the extra empty house; I was never the kind of person who play different characters because it annoyed me when villagers asked about them lol We’ve come a long way from then to full blown terraforming! I am so excited!

Random fact I notice with the videos, whenever they showcase multiple players in a group, most of the time, the villager who is the Smash rep is always sleeping. I think you can count how often he's awake on one hand.

Nah, he'll just post videos of him playing the game, not a let's play, just him in front of a camera playing it occasionally giving us half sentences before being pulled back into the switch.
What blew my mind the most was the improved interior design abilities, the MASSIVE overhaul of the museum (like holy crap it’s so beautiful!), and the ability to customize the island. So far the GC version is my favorite, but I’m over the moon for this. My sister preorders the digital version for me as a birthday gift, so my switch is all ready for the release!

It'd be nice if there was cooking and eating in this game so you can do something else with your fishing and gathering. Really seems to me like an obvious feature.
Pablo García- Conde Ortiz maybe in a similar way to the Roost Cafe in new leaf you could build a cafe/restaurant and it starts out with a small menu, but as you donate more bugs and fish they can expand the menu and you can work part time to earn bells, maybe
I’m pretty sure BOTW2 is going to focus pretty heavily on cooking as a main part of the story and gameplay, so Nintendo doesn’t want to oversaturate the market
I would like the cooking but it would need to be something other than a hunger bar because I wouldn’t want it to be a chore. It’d be cool to like bake an “apple pie” and give it to a resident on the island
Snacks and drinks seem to be a thing. If you look close they are all over the direct video. Villagers eating them as well.
This will be my first animal crossing and I'm extremely excited, it looks fantastic and I can't wait to design my own island and visit my friend's
EDIT: and it feels amazing that I can play choosing the southern hemisphere (I'm from Argentina), I wonder of there'll be christmas decorations on summer.

The museum is the most amazing change to me. I'm all about visual progress in games, and I've always loved collecting for the museum. But this blows anything else out of the park, this new museum is definitely where I'm spending most of my time

I don't microtransactions are a good reason to completely boycott a game. For me at least, I'm fine with them so long as they aren't super intrusive.

@@bigglerwiggler "In-Game Purchases" likely just refers to an ingame way to buy Nintendo Switch Online, or future paid DLC (like in Pokemon Sword & Shield).

The seasonal events are rumored to cycle every 4 years, having the event quests and rewards different each time. This is part of the reason they added the auto save and anti time travel to the game. On one part they don't want people traveling to the future and notice the otherwise missing holidays, or when added to the game in the updates, get access to the event content multiple times. So they can sell you content you miss from those events, via loot boxes in Pocket Camp.
We still have no idea how bad it's going to be... so I wrote to Nintendo begging them to not damage the Animal Crossing IP this way.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HYPED for Animal Crossing!!! Direct was one of the greatest of all time. Holding out hope for amiibo support for all dem Zelda amiibo I've been collecting! Also first Animal Crossing game. Very lucky that this is my first one!
