On May 4th, 1977, "Star Wars" debuted and changed motion pictures forever. Exactly five years later, on May 4th, 1982, Duran Duran released "Hungry Like The Wolf". The song and its accompanying music video changed the landscape of all music videos afterwards. Today, both are ageless classics and will continue to earn new fans.

I remember one time I've heard the full length version of this song on the radio and I remember thinking it took forever for the intro to end, I'm now giving the long version of this song another chance and I'm now glad that I did.

I heard this on a local radio station when I was like 13 or 14 and until well now and thanks to the development of the internet I could never ever find out what this one was. The female pleasure sounds at the end kept it in my memories hahaha.

This version of this song is the main reason that 35 years after hearing it, Duran Duran is still my favorite band. I don't know that I would have become the fan I am had it not been for the Kershenbaum remixes. Reminds me of Nile Rogers and The Reflex.

Thirty years ago I was really into the growing hip hop music. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, Kurtis Blow and so forth. I knew about Michael Jackson and Prince blew them all away. Met this white girl at college who was into the New Wave thing. Next thing you know I'm dressed like the black member of Duran Duran and I haven't been with a black chick since.
Pretty crazy you say that. I dated an older black woman in my late teens. She always played The Delfonics, Bobbie Womack, Gil Scott Heron, Lonnie Liston, and Janko Nilovic. Haven't dated a white woman since lol
@LCRV1 you can find this version on strange behaviour, which is a 2 disc set of all night versions. It's been on repeat in my car for the past 4-5 days. I bought the Rio cassette back in the day (20+ years ago) and this version was on it, then I bought the CD as I transitioned to digital and it wasn't on there, just the standard version. Couldn't find it again until strange behviour was released. It is an awesome version.

This is the B side of the 45 that came out in 82 - time: 5:14. A side plays at 4:11 and has quite the audible display of orgasma at the end. Catalog # B-5145; Harvest label (original chartreuse and green).
This is the original extended version which was originally put on the record back in the 80's. The short version for some reason is the one being featured on I-tunes if you buy the whole album. Same thing with 'My Own Way', also not the original cut from the original album. I think Rio was also changed as well.

Since I live in America, thats the version that was on the record which I still have. So it is true.
I love long versions of songs! It's a bit of a shame, however, that at 1:28 and a few other points in the intro you can here the "cuts" from each section to the next. I almost always take the extended over the original, but this is one rare occasion I can't. It has so much potential, too.

Yes! I noticed cuts between sequences a few times before that in the intro, too. Bit of a shame since I almost always choose the extended version over the original (Everybody Wants to Rule the World has an amazing extended version).

The Night Version here is the 127 BPM one, as heard on the 2nd version of the North American re-release of the Rio album and the B-side of the North American re-release of the HLTW single, as well as the North American & Japanese versions of the Carnival mini-LP. It is also on the Night Versions: Essential Duran Duran CD, while the quicker 129 BPM version (exact same remix, just a bit faster playback speed) features on the original UK 12" single, the Strange Behaviour 2CD 12" compilation CD set, and the 2009 Rio 2 disc special edition (CD & vinyl). Hard to believe that 2 BPM can make such a noticeable difference, both in pitch and tempo, but yep, it does!
