Shanny, I don’t remember if I mentioned this before in your other sweater videos (I may have)..but I did get in touch with a licensing agent directly from Adidas. And she confirmed that yes, Adidas uses third party stitching for their authentic sweaters. It’s frustrating. The first Adizero sweater I got was a Doughty, almost two years ago. The second it came in the mail I winced. The lettering was vinyl. VINYL! And the silver trim was screen printed. I was able to get it sent back and got a blank one I sent to icejerseys to get stitched right. But the heat place, coolhockey for sure. I have a dozen from them, all with nice, correct polyester twill lettering.
A lot of ppl have done "How to spot a knock off jersey" video but I think coming from you Shannon and with your unique insight a vid by you on the subject would be very appreciative, for example, what to look for with the new Adidas jerseys etc, also, with shipping to Canada from the States being ridiculous and a lot of us not having a U.S.P.S. post office box it would be helpful knowing where seller are located.
You're absolutely right about Sportchek. I couldn't find ANYTHING even from some "local" teams. But the Pro Hockey Life customer service, at least in-store, is PHENOMENAL. The manager of the local store spent 30 minutes on the phone with me and the in-store experience is even better. My son was complaining he wanted a new Canadiens sweater, but he was already wearing one. (We were there to buy gear, not apparel.) The clerk told him "But you're already wearing one!" It was great as a dad to hear them stepping up and not just trying to make a sale.
@@wil_ny6 That very may well be correct, but I haven't bought a new hockey sweater in 15 years. It's insane what's happened to the market in the last decade and a half. I remember my mum buying me one of my first sweaters for me at Eaton Centre for $50 (CDN).
I've had great luck purchasing either Reebok or Adidas NHL jerseys on Ebay. I just bought a NHL all star Pacific jersey from the game in Tampa Bay from Full Moon Jerseys this week. I payed one hundred dollars, and that jersey was made by Adidas in Canada and not in Indonesia. The NHLPA logo was sewn into the right back corner of the jersey, and the All-Star logo from the game was sewn on the left shoulder. The only two sites I don't use are Amazon and now Lids/ Fanatics.
Thanks Shannon! As the season wraps up I've somehow converted some Jerks in our hockey league. And yeah it's the Williams, Aho & Staal, but also Svech, Slavin, and McGinn type of Jerseys. It is great to see where & when we can find both collectables for our walls. I also appreciate you connecting us to the major sellers (especially Canadian sellers) so we can see our options.
I can say that cool hockey now ships to PO BOXES in Canada, I just ordered my new AVS from them in Aug 2019 and had it shipped to my po box in BC. Had the Jersey in less than 2 weeks!!
Glad to see sportsk on there. Highly recommend them for custom work. I got a jersey from the pond when I went to the Stanley cup finals, compared the quality of the job and it isn't even close. Paid half the price, no silly restrictions on customization limits, and some classic patches available.
Used to love those Starter jackets when i was a kid, couldnt afford one at the time, but i sure admired them. By the time I could afford them, they weren't a thing anymore.
Only problem I've found with IceJerseys is their stock is limited and their selection is lousy. Lids.ca used to let you ship free to one of their local stores for pickup but that option is now gone.
Shannon! You’re the real deal man, thanks for the tips! You should put out a list of jerseys you are looking for, I’d love to see if I can help by sending you some
First time commenting on your excellent hockey channel, though I've been tuning in almost daily for about a year. A tour of your jersey collection would be interesting. I could see that spread over 2 or 3 videos, but that would be cool. Used to wear "muscle shirts" too. LOL
I use full moon for cheaper Reebok jerseys and changed adidas jersey specifically Chicago, I use Ben H for Adidas at a good price even if they take a while to ship to the states they are worth the price, and I use jersey baron for special edition jerseys like recently I bought a 25th anniversary San Jose pavelski jersey. And I never would have found any of them if it wasn’t for The hockey guy.
Shannon, there's a guy in Montreal that gets and sells rare international jerseys. Like Greece, Poland, Belgium, Croatia, Serbia, israel, Italy, Romania, Armenia etc . Expensive but cool .
Great video. Great listen while vacuuming. Ben H. does seem like a great guy, very personable and diplomatic and though he makes a bit of money doing it I get the impression it's something he does mostly because he enjoys it and though I said in another comment I found out I'm still not a big jersey guy one day I see myself finding a reason to get one from him, maybe I'll see a jersey someone I know would really like and I'll get it for them or something like that.
Hey shannon love your videos ive been a sub for a very long time & watching your videos have inspired me to start collecting jerseys and been a fan of multiple teams and collect merchandise of multiple teams. Again love your videos. Keep up the great work.

I get my jerseys from an app called Mercari it’s a online flea market and normally you can get a Reebok premier or ccm jersey for an average of 30 dollars in good condition
How would you like an Official CCM Cam Neely jersey with all the correct lettering and badges? I special ordered it from from a NHL store in the Hartford Whalers mini-mall. (They actually had a mall surrounding the stadium in the same building) It cost me a bit over $200 US back in the mid 1980's. It is the white with black and gold trim. That used to be the home team colors back then and nott the dark sweaters.
I recently purchased an Adidas Crosby 3rd Jersey from Fanatics and, couldn't believe how cheap the numbers are for authentic Jersey price. The Lemiuex Adidas I got from Pens Gear store at the arena is much better for about the same price.
I SO agree .. ProPlayer were GREAT jerseys. All sewn, heavy gauge chest crest, nice soft jersey fabric. SO Nice. Starter too, gets a bad rap but in fact, they were VERY nice. Also, sewn chest crest, not just heat applied like CCM's are / were.

You have a great collection of hockey jerseys I like that I am a hockey fan from Miami in this video you say you wash your jerseys in the washing machine but I hand wash mine I only have 5 jerseys
That is how my ebay business started over 20 years ago now. SVP Sports. They had Nike jerseys ... Chelios for Chicago red and also white. Yzerman red Detroit, Shanahan red Detroit, Lindros orange Flyers, LeClair orange Flyers. They were something like $40. (remember, it was 20 years ago). Ebay was a new thing so I bought one of each and sold them. Thought, hey .. that was cool .. bought some more. Then svp sports had some nice authentic NFL jerseys .. Davis for Broncos, Aiken or what ever his name was for Dallas Cowboys. They had Carolina Panthers .. nice jerseys, cheap. I sold them on ebay .. then .. Michael Jordan Nike red Chicago Bulls jerseys .. sold Those .... then Brett Favre Nike replica jerseys ... and from there .. my ebay business was born and here I am 20 years later with a crazy busy business registered as an Ontario corporatio with sales over $200,000. annual ... all from ... SVP Sports humble beginnings. (more info than you wanted right ? .. just you mentioning SVP Sports got me on that tangent) I still have a Lindros jersey by the way. Kept it as a reminder of the beginning.
It's weird...I was never a big jersey person before THG and last summer rushed home to open my full moon ordered authentics at my folks' house to replace my old Asian knockoffs only to discover there (and at Sportcheks and other stores in Vancouver, Toronto, and elsewhere passing through) that I'm still more of a t-shirt person than a jersey person. With that said, I'm here watching and listening to more than just Bear.
I think the Reebok Premier jerseys are great value and highly recommend them to anyone getting into jersey collecting. I have a Habs Reebok Authentic red and Premier white and I honestly prefer the latter. It's more of a fan jersey. I get the appeal of throwing on an Edge and grabbing gear, a stick and heading to a rink or gym floor/court and pretending you're in game 7 like Jim Montgomery talked about, but otherwise I think the Premier's perfectly fine and I honestly prefer the look of Reeboks to the look of the Adidas, and not only by a little. I like the stitched NHL logo more than the plastic-y rubber one, and the shoulders over the cheap kitchen towel dinner napkin look of Adidas jersey shoulders. I think not unlike the Starters people indeed WILL want Reeboks after awhile in years to come and won't be able to give Adidas away, but I could be wrong and don't really care either way. Opinions are like bellybuttons. I remember rushing to some sports shops during last summer's Canadian excursion to handle some Adidas and being very underwhelmed in person by their look and feel though, but then I'm also not a big jersey person in general.
I've dealt with Ben several times. Yes, great guy to deal with. I bought two Avs jerseys from him, a Bourque and a Lemieux, and a pair of Gordie Howe Red Wings jerseys. I wish he could get a pair of Lidstroms and pair of Sawchuks. I'd buy em.
Got my first jersey from Cool Hockey a little over a year ago, and with about 5 extra minutes of research found an active coupon for 30% off. Ps the first thing I did was get a bottle of clear flexible fabric glue to treat the edges with.
Are you a jersey nerd like me? I have a ranking of what my jersey collection ranks by stiched name on the back. I use rankers to find out how many points my jersey is worth. An oilers Gretzky would be a hundred points. A Scott Gomez NYR would be 1 point. Average out my points and find out the points of my collection.
Hey Shannon, what are your feelings about putting your own last name on the back on an NHL jersey? I was thinking about getting my new wife and I jerseys with our new last name on them. Thanks!
I am on the fence about it honestly. When I was younger, I thought it would be fun to have my name on the back of a jersey, but I wouldn't do it now. I don't see it as a jersey foul though. I will do a list of jersey fouls at some point and that wouldn't be on the list for me.
Fanatics freaking sucks! I have bought five, read, FIVE jerseys from them and suddenly, they can't send my freaking jerseys to my P.O. box in Florida like they have the last five times! 200 phone calls later and after they have "fixed" the issue, they still cancel my orders! What a nightmare!
Yes .. I tried to buy something from lids which now apparently is fanatics and the whole order got cancelled for no reason I can figure out so I just said fine ... plenty of other places to take my business to.
I ship quote often to Europe. In Canadian dollars, shipping over 500 grams cost $48. and under 500 grams in weight is $35. Canadian dollars are roughly 30% lower than US dollars. Shipping via post office with a tracking number and usually it takes 7 to 10 days.
Hey Shannon. I own a couple of fanatics jerseys, and on the whole I'm pretty happy with them. But I would like to buy an Authentic next. I'm a mens medium size. I was just wondering, is there much of a size difference (in medium) between Fanatics and Adidas?
That Pens jersey you’re wearing...people here in Pittsburgh widely hated them. I have one of white ones. I didn’t hate them so much. I love the one that has Pittsburgh spelled on it from top right to bottom left. Wish they would bring those back. The one you’re wearing gives me the shakes because I can’t shake the image of Alex Stojanov wearing it.
Justin Walters I’m in Pittsburgh and I love those robo penguin jerseys. I wish they’d bring those back. I think they’re one of the best jerseys in NHL history.

Yes .. I tried to buy something from lids which now apparently is fanatics and the whole order got cancelled for no reason I can figure out so I just said fine ... plenty of other places to take my business to.
and he we are as europeans :( we pay so much for shipping. Any recommendations?
I ship quote often to Europe. In Canadian dollars, shipping over 500 grams cost $48. and under 500 grams in weight is $35. Canadian dollars are roughly 30% lower than US dollars. Shipping via post office with a tracking number and usually it takes 7 to 10 days.
quite often ... not quote often. typo
Full moon is amazing, got a tavares adidas for 45 bucks
NY of course
Mystery Boxes sure was a lot cheaper when you recorded this.
Hey Shannon. I own a couple of fanatics jerseys, and on the whole I'm pretty happy with them. But I would like to buy an Authentic next. I'm a mens medium size. I was just wondering, is there much of a size difference (in medium) between Fanatics and Adidas?
absolutely love your channel btw, keep up the great work!
The Robo Pen's jersey is most definately among my favorites. I love that jersey.
A hockey tank top is ridiculous!
