- Evander Kane scored a pair of goals and an assist, Mike Smith turned away 30 shots to record a shutout, and the Edmonton Oilers bounced back and defeated the Los Angeles Kings 6-0 to even the series at 1-1.

Just got home from that awesome game this was my first nhl let alone nhl playoff game I wanna go back
what a first
My first was game 6 against Detroit. This one looked more exciting
I’ve seen two NHL games both oilers games first was March of 2015 at Rexall they beat Philadelphia 6-5 in OT second was February 2018 at Rodgers and lost I can’t remember the score to Carolina. But they both had an electrifying experience nothing will beat hockey some may say football or soccer the best no it’s hockey especially when the crowed gets into it.
my actual first was the 03/04 leafs/flyers playoffs. We just signed a big work contract with UPS and they invited us to their box seats. It was the game where Tucker almost killed Kapanen. Ill never got it.
My first /Oilers game was the one with Mike Smith and Cam Talbot fighting each other.
Did not expect Edmonton to be this physical , even McDavid is laying guys out. A physical Oilers team is so fun to watch
But be the first to cry when it happens to him
If they play like last night throughout the rest of the playoffs, they're going far. It's grit that determines the Cup winner and they were playing with grit last night! Something that wasn't seen in previous iterations of the Oil. So glad to see it finally, they've got a real chance here!

Reminds me of the wild blues series. And also the Tampa leafs series. Teams getting beat and then coming back in game 2 to out a beat down on the other team. Glad to see that teams are adjusting making these playoffs all the more intardesting

@@wayne6777 Kassian had his issues and battled his demons. He came into the league at a time when substance abuse was still very much a normal part of the game, and whether you like it or not, it still is. Maybe not to the extent that it was 10+ years ago. Kassian enjoyed partying a little too much and it almost cost him everything. You're sorely mistaken and naive if you don't think that recreational drug use/drug abuse isn't still very predominant in the league today.

Kane did a bunch of a little things tonight too. That second goal he kept the puck alive couple times & that little tip pass to Bouchard just perfect then gets it back & wires it!
yeah, they allowed coke in the locker room, wait till he runs out of his salary... trust his other burned bridges, it aint pretty.
no-one ever doubted his hockey ability, but hes a tool and doesn't deserve to be in the NHL, much less a free member of society.

Honestly yeah it’s crazy that he didn’t even play bad at all and still got beat 6 times. Without luck the oilers probably score 4-5 instead of 6 but quick still made a lot of good saves. Kings will need to bring some run support if they have a chance

everything seems a little too familiar to me, especially the part about two nhl caliber players on the roster and 18 AHL fill ins.
Saw the score and thought oh quick had a bad game but geez a lot of those goals were impossible to stop. Edmonton definitely weren't messing around. They couldn't go down by 2.

I love the oilers but some of those were crazy lucky goals, good for them for putting up the shots they did. Reminds me of when my buddy rarely beats me in nhl always the deflections!
You get lucky when you're working hard and playing well. Deflections look lucky but they happen because you're crowding the front of the net and putting shots into the mess.
yup those chances don't happen when your playing in your end. They were on the offensive the whole game and LA looked smothered.

Unfortunately, if the refs continue to close their eyes on the obvious flops by the FLOPPERS and continue to get these erroneous penalties, the kings have NO SHOT as Edm. true game strategy is to get PP anyway possible as they know they have a big advantage vs the Kings in the special teams game. I'm starting to believe that they are closing their eyes purposely to these FLOPS bc the league would rather see Edmonton vs Calgary then Kings/Calgary. Otherwise, the refs would have at least called 1 embellishment penalty on the 5 or 6 (minimum) they could have called already
