GREATEST GAME IN SHARKS HISTORY!
GREATEST GAME IN NHL PLAYOFF HISTORY!!!
Not only in sharks history....but playoff history!
Only because of 1 call
@@blake6992 cry me a river!!!! No excuses to the epic greatness of the San Jose Sharks
STRTT Steve i never made an excuse. They scored all 4 goals on the pp. they shouldn’t have been in that situation in the 1st place. The sharks did a great job on the power play, I’m not denying that. It was a bad call and they capitalized.
I watched this with my dad who was a life long sharks fan. This is the happiest moment we shared before he passed away. Miss ya pops! Won’t ever forget it
just imagine how joe pavelski reacted when he heard the horn go off those 4 times
THAT MUST HAVE FELT AMAZING
Michael Tsadyk you mean 5 times
I heard he got the first staple put in as they scored the first pp goal. Amazing story!
maybe he though that was the concussion
Jo Pawelski decided to score the first goal in the next Game 7 ... and only hard-core Sharks fans will understand why I misspelted the name ...
I'm never going to forget watching this live
I was sitting in a bar in Las Vegas watching this game. It was a game I will never forget and I wasnt even there!
It was the loudest I've ever heard the tank get, even louder than when we beat the blues in 2016 and actually went to the finals.
I was watching this live on my IPad and I was like there’s no point watching this San Jose’s out. And then It happened
@@juliancardazzone7549 I was about to turn it off too. It was like 6am here, but I'm glad I stayed awake. Craziest game I've ever seen
I was on vacation in Mexico for spring break, and sitting in a sports bar at the resort, that was just something I had never experienced before and I was watch something I had never seen before! Unbelievable atmosphere
“Momentum in sports doesn’t exist”
Sharks: “hold my finn”
🤣🤣🤣🤣
You're right it doesn't!
??? Of course in-game momentum exists.
Oh, anyone who’s played a sport at all knows momentum exists 100%. But if you watch sports long enough, you’ll eventually come across those people who think it doesn’t. Idk if they think sports are computer generated outcomes or if they’re just so bad at sports that momentum doesn’t affect them at all because they suck regardless, but those people are out there lol
G20 agreed
Not even a Sharks fan and this gives me goosebumps. The noise in that building is insane!
The Tank is the best.
They turned up the horn to full blast and you could hear it from 3.2 miles away
@@joshualanci6718 lol why 3.2 thats precise
I got flashbacks of the Bruins in 2013. But this was better. One powerplay, and they came all the way back, down 3 and took the lead. Nothing like this will happen again
Gabe Jersey nah, the Bruins was better because they scored 3 goals in the 3rd WITHOUT a power play and won it in Ot. They also scored 2 goals with the goalie pulled.
as a sharks fan I have watched this power play about 100 times
By far the greatest hockey game I've ever attended. I've NEVER been in a building as loud as the Shark Tank got that night! What an incredible night!
The Shark Tank that night had to be wild.
@@matt13r1 it was deafening. Loved it
@@previnsnaidu1 i can imagine.
Whatever they got clapped by the blues
@@jonathangarcia8499 lol keep crying you lost to the Montreal Canadiens
I absolutely love how when Couture scores the 3rd and Lebanc the 4th, they jump right into the sharks bench instead of doing the skate by. It's so awesome.
They could have called that unsportsmanlike conduct on that celebration
@@carlyisaac5671 boohoo
Carly Isaac wait really how is that unsportsmanlike
Jumping into ur own, bench on basketball and soccer and football are all unsportsmanlike conduct and red card fro soccer ⚽ so why not NHL even if it's NHL Stanley cup final round
@@carlyisaac5671 Literally the biggest buzzkill. It's not considered excessive celebration so calm down.
As a Wings fan, this was the greatest game I've ever seen! Watching the whole sequence in my basement.
Anyone who thinks hockey is boring, is wrong.
The same people that think hockey is boring watches baseball religiously, in general. And love it.
They can only, as Johnny Carson - dressed as Carnac - said "spit, scratch and complain"
Randy Hahn did an absolutely amazing job at calling this.
As always
Sean Crosby he’s always good but this was one of his best calls
Love when they tie the game, he makes his call, and then just lets scene take hold and not keep talking
My lord would I have loved to be in that crowd
I was watching this game and as a Habs fan... I've seen my fair share of great moments but this... Wow. No way this comeback would've been possible without those amazing fans. Absolutely amazing. Good job Sharks!
Playoffs at the Shark Tank is a special type of atmosphere. If you're a big hockey fan, you should definitely try to make it to a game in San Jose at some point. I've been to games in Chicago, Vegas, LA, and New York and Bell Centre is next on my bucket list.
I was lucky enough to go to this game, and it was beyond electric. We were so fired up after Pavelski went down that we put a 6th man out on the ice. There was no stopping anyone in San Jose after that.
@@antnyneveruploads It's incredible what one play can do. Not a goal, a Penalty completely changed the atmosphere. From that point, the Sharks were in complete control of the game. Vegas shook. Absolutely incredible comeback. In 10 years of being a Sharks fan, this was the best Sharks game I ever watched.
Danny S. I’m a habs fan to and We’re use to this😂😂😂
Josh S. Mad respect man. If this is the reaction coming from a non sharks fan you gotta respect them.
I love how Randy Hahn goes from "THEY'VE! DONE IT! THEY'VE COME! ALL THE WAY BACK! WE ARE TIED!" (6:28) to casually "One more and they'll have the lead." (8:25) two minutes later. And it didn't seem unlikely at that moment.
First we prayed. Then we hoped. Then we believed. Then we knew.
Then you got the blues :p
I keep coming back to this video. I keep thinking if you brought this to any Hollywood studio, you'd get laughed out of the building, what do you think this is, a Rocky movie?
Their Captain, bleeding and unconscious. Their season on the line. Their rivals ready to celebrate on their ice. And the Sharks stepped up and said NO.
And then for the extra drama. The tying goal. The overtime. Can't you see it, the way it would play out in the movie? The pounding, dramatic music (call Bill Conti and throw cash at him). The closeups on the faces, the fans, players on the bench, the coaches, the goalies. The intercuts between the team fighting for their metaphorical lives and Joe Pavelski fighting for his literal life. Goodrow comes off the bench. The bloody No. 8 sweater on the floor of the dressing room, cracked helmet next to it. Goodrow with the puck. Trainer looks worried, taking Joe's pulse. Puck hits net. The horn sounds. Joe's eyes snap open.
The team marches into the dressing room, puts the puck in Joe's hand, and tells him to rest up - cause they're moving on.
@@warlock415 Don’t forget that they also came back down 3-1 in the series too. Epic story
@@SJSharks13 Like I said. Right out of a bad sports movie. Except it was reality.
8:51 What time is it?
4 past Fleury.
i like that
Lol
That is amazing
Nice and the final score was "V" past Fleury.
Nice chirp
Who'd you steal it from
I'm not a Sharks or Knights fan. But say what you want about the PP call, the Knights shouldn't have gave up 4 goals so, thats a comeback for the shark and a gg.
Goals. Not points.
The knights were also up by 3-1 in the series
Yeah. I’d say the call was a little harsh, but come on. If you give up FOUR goals on a major, you don’t deserve to go far.
Vegas did get a break with a goaltender interference call earlier in the series. Just like this penalty, that one is subjective, but that's the nature of the game and referee calls.
Agreed. Everyone was complaining about the penalty but 2 guys from Vegas cross checked that guy. The second guy who cross checked him Al. Out skated over him. Yeah San Jose had some calls go there way that were bad calls but that one wasn't. The NHL just handed out a suspension to one of the blues in the finals for something that was not nearly as bad
Thank you for the ful length and allowing us to relive this historical and fraking emtional comeback in all it's heart stopping seconds.
Kathy Schoendoerfer you’re very welcome
That penalty was gay
@@blake6992 How's golf going flower?

@9:02 you got three grown men hugging and jumping in the air of excitement. That’s playoff hockey baby
Absolutely one of the best games in recent NHL history, although at the expense of Joe Pavelski's head injury. I don't think I have ever seen a rapid turn-around on such a critical game. Marc-Andre Fleury, a seasoned, and damn near elite goaltender was no match for a furious Sharks team who wanted to dish out some justice.
The greatest game in the history of hockey I’d say.
Every time I watch the replay of those moments it still gives me chills.
My only regret is not having attended that game,
It would’ve been a lifetime experience.
Sharks in 2020!
Miguel Hernandez If the Blues and Capitals can end their playoff curses, you guys can too!
Ian Miller I Hope so 😞
I think if the call wasn’t so weak it could be the greatest game of all time buy that horrible call kinda ruins the moment
The call was awful. You're on drugs.
Sharks 2023?? Please??
I could watch this every week until I die. The game that took a chunk out of every Shark's fans life from anxiety, Knights' fans as well
you should watch the mini documentaries the sharks did for each round of the playoffs. production level is excellent
This is the new rivalry of the NHL in progress. Say the s*** you want if you don't cheer for either (I don't cheer for either) but you gotta recognize quality hockey. Let's hope for more battles like this in the future, especially with this generation still around

Great upload. Arguably the greatest 5-minute powerplay in the history of the NHL. This comeback warrants a complete upload with the spaces in between.
Tied for the greatest perhaps. The Blues did the same thing to the Kings back in 1998. Down 3-0, scored 4 goals on a 5 minute major in the 3rd period. Ironically it was a controversial call as well.
John K that’s cool , do you have the link?
Not just the best ever power play, but also the absolute worst penalty kill in history and one of the most embarrassing failures in sport (alongside 28-3, JR Smith dribbling away the clock, and Loris Karius' blunder)

I’ve been watching hockey for almost 20 years, I’ve never seen anything like this, ever, I lost hours of sleep watching this game it was totally worth it
I agree happy new year
When in Vegas, be sure to hit a bar and order The Pavelski Payback: 4 shots in 5 minutes. You'll be in for a good time.
Game 6 of this series made me a sharks fan and then having this game be right after becoming a fan was a sure fire way to ensure I’m a sharks fan not just for these playoffs but for years to come
Aiden Duryba
AweOme to hear that. The Sharks are a respectable team. They don’t play dirty. They play with heart. Hopefully this can be the year they finally go all the way. They always make the playoffs but never have held the cup. They have the talent to do it.
This will never EVER get old as a sharks fan. One of the greatest rally’s behind a captain and comebacks ever to happen
Adam Sandler to VGK: "YOU BLEW IT!!!!"
The energy from the crowd is amazing. I’ve been to a couple Sharks games but I’ve never seen such an upbeat crowd like there was in this power play
Couture is special....took total Command of this game....wow...just wow. natural Leader.
Navy47 Cooch has ice in his veins during the playoffs, he’s clutch as fuck!!!
Joe Thornton did too. Issue one order " go get 3 fucken goals" they went and got 4.
I've watched this like 4 times now and i get just as excited every time. I still can't believe this happened.
Graham Montgomery sharks aren’t even my favorite team (2nd favorite) but my boy randy hahn is the most underrated announcer of all time and he makes the goal 2x more electrifying
One of the best moments in Bay Area sports history. Man, I thought this was the year. All the stars were aligning...
The sound of the crowd gave me chills through my body
Family tradition to watch this everyday
I've been to over 300 Sharks games but nothing matched this game. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It was the loudest thing I've ever been apart of and was legitimately the best night of my life. I've watched this dozens of times now I CANNOT GET ENOUGH
Robert Temmerman holy shit ur rich
one year ago today. the greatest game comeback of all time.
God this still gives me chills.
Been a sharks fan since I was a kid, haven’t felt joy like this since nabby made that one save against Dallas.
Man. What a ride.
That famous "Nabby save" against Dallas was because Nabokov gave the friggin puck to the Dallas player a few seconds before. The Sharks lost that game BTW.
Meier was the unsung hero of that power play, he was screening Fluery on 3 of the 4 goals he was completely clueless as to where the puck was 😂
im still in shock...i just can't believe it.
It was the best game Ive ever watched and I'm not even a sharks fan
I had never cheered more for a single team in my life than all the championship games I've watched and what made me of a fan of the San Jose Sharks. Go get em Boys!!!!!
That whole stretch was inspired. Lebanc and couture went beast mode and the commentary was fantastic.
Can't forget Mier....he helped a lot with the screens.
I want to thank you for uploading this. I can't tell you how many times I've come back to relive this moment. Kinda funny I could tell you the entire roster of this team but, this year not so much. This team was an Elite Goalie away from winning it all.
Was so awesome to be there & be a part of this game. Was the best playoff game I can remember. The Stanley Cup Final was awesome, but for a different reason.
almost 3 weeks later, and watching this still makes me tear up.
@Freddy Jenkins you plugs got clapped by the blues and never should've made it past round one, the new expansion team has accomplished as much as you. Good luck without Pavelski smh
sameeee
I saw this live. I can't remember ever screaming so loudly in excitement. What amazing commentary. So thankful I got to witness this heroic effort.
So thrilled that Vegas is out! Hated Them last year and to see them go down is pure joy!
dandeo50 #NIGHTYKNIGHT
Hate is such a strong, negative feeling. You know Vegas is made up of a bunch of players other teams didnt want. Then they had the massacre in Vegas in the back of their heads, and still they made it to the Finals. Anyway.....
Crow you do know that Vegas was given special treatment last year. The rest of the NHL teams could not protect the same amount of players as in the past. It was an embarrassment to the NHL to have an expansion team go to the playoffs. Name one other sport that had a first year team make the playoffs?

Ikr dont fuck wit the sharks boys theyll drop 4 on ya lol
He had the “ill fucking murder you” face
I legitimately shed tears every time I watch this

As a knights fan, we deserve to be reminded of this and mocked for it as much as the falcons deserve 28-3
You have a cup now!!! I mean not the year of this vid, but as a Sharks fan who really really dislikes you guys... holy shit you did it. COngrats.
Karlsson signing must feel pretty good now for the Sharks! He´s so good carrying the puck in zone and finding the easy passing lanes. Best offensive defender of all time.
as far as defenders, Burns is the firepower and Karlsson is the eyes. Burns is unbeatable at just shooting right to the net and either scoring or creating scoring chances from it. Karlsson has made some incredible and important passes. They're both prone to defensive lapses, but I think overall they're a big part of the team's strength
Hes shit wym
One of the best hockey games I've ever seen! Go San Jose Sharks!!!
I was in row 3 behind the sharks bench and it was insanity. People were throwing their wristbands and all kinds of stuff on the ice after that penalty. Pavs getting escorted off the ice while Burns (I think) was holding a towel to his head was epic. Lot of people had actually left by this point, which made the noise that much more special. I didn’t have a voice after this game for like 3 days.
i think seeing their captain go down lying in a pool of his blood really riled up every single one of them, they had way too much motivation to not win
Hard to believe after only 2 years vegas knows what leaf fans feel like every year since 93
Ahahaha this made me laugh
I'm not a sharks fan but honestly watching this pumps me tf up. I get a little shiver in my spine when they all went up the ice together like..."here come the sharks".
Simply put, the greatest hockey moment I ever had the pleasure of watching as a Sharks fan. I wish I could've been at the Tank to see it all happen in front of me. Watching late at night at home, I'm pretty sure I spilt more than a little beer jumping up and down when things starting happening and woke up my neighbours.

One of the best days of my life. I was there. The building was going to collapse if another goal was scored in that PP. I'll remember that night for the rest of my life. GO SHARKS!
There's a story saying Pavelski got 4 staples in his head because of the hit. The first staple went in while the first goal was scored and by the time they got the fourth staple in, the horn was going off for Labanc's game leading goal.

Cant blame them, I would be mad if my team got screwed over of their second finals appearance in two years
Swiss Cheese they didn’t get screwed
@@amatt2116 did you watch the game or the video smh
Swiss Cheese I watched the series. Game 2. Fleury out of his crease, barely makes contact with couture, puck goes in, nope. No goal. Not only that but they gave couture 2 minutes for goalie interference. He barely touched him (not that it matters because he was out of the crease the goal should count) Marchessault only got 2 minutes for knocking Couture’s teeth out with a high stick as well. Game 6, the knights have a powerplay in double OT on home ice with a chance to clinch the series. Theodore forgets how to play defense, fleury lets in a softie and the sharks win game 6. Total choke. The call in game 7 is irrelevant to me if they didn’t deserve to be there in the first place. Speaking of game 7, Cody Eakin put the puck in with a high stick and the goal counted. I’ll say again, the refs didn’t screw the knights.
I wish I could like this more than once
As a Blackhawks fan, listening to this guy's call was fun. Best of luck the rest of the way!
