For drainage, you could add a small rock ditch that can act as a drain Channeling the water to the dam ( similar to the drain running under the green. It would be a neat little obstacle to challenge golfers and you could build a cool rock or wooden bridge over the rock drain. Would add another level of complexity to the course but would look stunnin! Also it would seperate the grass types from the rye to the couch.
Short right next to the dam and long left on the gravel pit. Best chance for having the widest variety of bunker shots and any pin on the bottom tier would be a beast from those traps.
I think one bunker where the gravel patch is and another small one just before the green up against the dam. Green is looking great. I have love the build so far
Great vlog I would put a deep faced bunker from where the gravel patch is to half way round and another small deep faced bunker by the side of the water
I think i speak for everyone but if I’m not that’s okay but I’d love to see your family back on the videos. They always seems like they’re having a lot of fun
2 bunkers. One in the rock spot you pointed out making your approach shot need to be in line and correct distance. Then one between the small fairway and green so short shots dunk the sand.
Have you ever considered turning you plugs 180, turning them into half moons, instead of full circles. we did this all the time in my apprenticeship! and the time it takes to creep back in, almost twice as quick.
Definitely a bunker to the left of the lake and infront of the green top tier to punish a short shot and perhaps a long wide one around the rear to punish long shots
Mate if you're looking from where you been hitting from, I reckon one pot bunker by front right next to the dam, and another one maybe a shallower one but a bit bigger at the back left corner . Would make for some interesting choice off the tees and good options for bunker practice, and give an option to land tee shot short left and get it rolling up inbetween the bunkers.
A small pothole bunker at the front in the corner of the green by the dam would be sweet... unless it acts as a water collection. But essentially, a penalty for hitting short but a save before for running into the water.
I figure it would be tough, but having the bunker near the front of the green would make the hole the most interesting. If you’re really feeling crazy, you could put one near the front and one along the left side of the green. It would make the hole incredibly tough
Back left as you see it from the tee box will give a nice scary down hill shot to a middle flag with pond there if you hit it too hard. Then maybe front right for the shorter tee box.
Completely objectively speaking about bunkers I’d have you put one to the right side of the far corner. Front left covering half the front edge of the green just tucking up towards the pond and I agree a decent sized one over the back
Is there a general rule of thumb for the max sand depth over growing Bentgrass with out killing it? Having started my green area recently there are some areas that need a bit of fill.
Do you empty/run water through the sprayer after you're done spraying? I also like to strain everything I put in the tank with like a 120 mesh paint strainer to help avoid clogs as well. The ryegrass is looking nice, I think some plantings around the edge of the yard is a good idea too. Can't wait to see how it turns out, already excited for the fairway that's for sure, you should consider putting in some bluegrass somewhere just to have some :).
Any reason you're not taking the fairway right up to the collar of the green? It currently looks like there will be a strip of rough between the fairway and the green. If there is going to be rough there, that takes away a lot of ground game options. You can't run the ball into the green with a low punch.
I think in a previous video there was mention the collar will be extended back up to the fairway. I agree with you though, it would be sweet to keep it open and smooth for a punch shot. Good for the kids too who probably cant fly the green.
if u put a bunker back left, especially a deep one, u will never stop the ball on the green coming out, as it all slopes away from that corner, by the look of things
bunker front right, by the dam would be cool, make the shot into the small area of the green really tricky. really have to think about it when u are visualizing your shot
Hey bro you should try out some kentucky blue grass if i remember correctly it never took off at your brother's house and you guys ended up going tiftuff didnt you?
I'd say put it where your having that drainage problem. It would make it a little easier to fix the drainage. I'd think and more interesting for difficult shots
@@LawnTips So we have Chlorosel Pro 720 and Chlorothalonil 720 Ag. Not sure which one is comparable but I can look at a SDS sheet of the product you linked and compare if you don’t know off hand💪🏼
@@LawnTips Not sure what a turf rate is but, the standard application rate is 20-150 gallons per acre (200-1,400 liters per hectare) for diluted sprays and 5-10 gallons per acre (50-100 liters per hectare) for concentrated ground sprays. The application rate for Brown Patch and Dollar Spot is approx. 2.5oz per 1000 sq feet for the Chlorosel Pro 720.
@@WSW0424 so when I say turf rate, it should state on the label what rate is used for turfgrass. Some labels included fruit trees and orchards plus much more. Those rates sound correct to me mate! They are targeting turf disease so it sounds like they are the rates for turf
Bunker has to be front right. Otherwise you’ll lose a million balls running into the dam. It’s all downhill from the left so any bunker shots just won’t stop. Unless you do a big one on the left just off the green where the rye is.
As for bunker, i would move dam away from the green and put bunker in that "corner" of the green and second one somewhere beer the trees, third one in the back. Keeping ray long and thick you will have difficult green.
Shotgun or rifle. In a week, they’ll be gone - either dead or flown away. I would NOT tolerate that crap for even 1 day. Why are you tolerating it!!??!!
Canadian here I think it’s cute when u say your done with “ winter”
You've got one of the healthiest golf courses I've seen.

I definitely like the idea of the bunker on the back area. I don't want you to compromise the opening shot haha
bunker would look nice exactly where you pointed. and 100% agree with the idea of flowers around the trees.
That picture you put up yess.. That would be sweet 🤙
Short right next to the dam and long left on the gravel pit. Best chance for having the widest variety of bunker shots and any pin on the bottom tier would be a beast from those traps.
100% Short right and long left. Leave the front of the green open for running shots.
I think one bunker where the gravel patch is and another small one just before the green up against the dam.
Green is looking great. I have love the build so far
Saturday morning lawn tips. You beauty
What about extending the pond across - bunkers in the back - stone bridge - Augusta 12th Golden Bell
Keep on keeping on 👍 looking forward to the bunker wherever you put it, and fairway
Great vlog I would put a deep faced bunker from where the gravel patch is to half way round and another small deep faced bunker by the side of the water
Watching Ben tip more product into the tank for a single application than I use in a whole season lol
Haha 😂

Put a nice kidney bean bunker on the side or back corner where the tripod was. Loving these videos keep it up
I'd love to see a steep, St Andrews type of bunker along the water line, just run it right into the water. Great work thus far.
Have you considered building a small nursery green in case of a major incident?
I think he said in another video that he plans on it?
In Northern US, they will heavily sand bent grass greens after dormancy but before snow.
Bunker right where you said, that would be awesome. Unobtrusive but a threat for the wayward approach. Easy to maintain away from the groomed lawns.
One day, Can't wait to have my own lawn

Hey mate, love your work. would love to see a video on the full cost of the green (with no sponsors) including establishment and ongoing maintenance
A bunker is supposed to protect the green. Make sure you put it somewhere interesting that makes you think about the shot!
A bunker inside the green - a la 6th hole at Riviera! #justathought 👌
A small pothole bunker at the front in the corner of the green by the dam would be sweet... unless it acts as a water collection. But essentially, a penalty for hitting short but a save before for running into the water.
Road hole style bunker off front left! And smaller one over the back
Bottom left for sure. Gives you some good practise and risk with dam behind
I've said this before.....I'd like to see a 'beach' around the pond,,,,
a small circle pot bunker in the front surround would guard nicely but not be too big to worry most shots into the green
Last Aussie 😁. Lawnranchology 😎
Bunker where the gravel is near the back to catch any long shots. If you want to make it tough you could also put one front left.
Re: bunker. If its at the back would make a tricky bunker shot back towards the dam and catch any longer shots.. might help improve the bunker game :)
Consider doing a "natural" style bunker... similar to what was at the US Open.
Hmmm bunker ... ducks.... see if you can put it where they mostly come.on to the green.. round them up lol
Wiggly edged bunkers like at LACC with the fescue eyebrows on top!
3 Bunkers
Back left & both sides of the dam to cover the different tee locations
2 bunkers in Augusta style on left side front and middle rear

You should put some mounds somewhere in the fairway, let you practice some above/below feet lies
Is there a general rule of thumb for the max sand depth over growing Bentgrass with out killing it? Having started my green area recently there are some areas that need a bit of fill.
9:50 kidney shaped bunker front left of green where the smaller of the two sand patches are, but tucked up closer to the green

Bunker out the back for looks but bunker on the right hand side to catch those pulled shots when the pin is up tight right.
left side! 🤦♂
Grass bunker 👍
in that shot of you mowing put bunker where that sand pile is would be prime and just before the green also
Bunker where you said and one at the front for additional complexity.
Bunkers are meant to penalize bad shots, so where you initially thought would be perfect.
BUNKERS - placement should challenge the tee shot….other wise it’s just for “show.”
Bunker back left of the green to stop people hitting balls onto driveway
Would love to see some Tahoma 31 mate. Any plans ?
Hey Ben, any suggestions on earthworm mound suppression.
have you / are you going to add a tee box? or boxes
Im a blacksmith from Newcastle and I would love to help you make a rustic sign

Hey mate, nah I don’t. They are all concentrates
Awesome thank you
Bunker would be good back left
Need to fix glosophate burn ☹️ do I need to reseed?
Depends on the grass type. If it’s a grass that creeps you won’t have to reseed. If it doesn’t creep I’d definitely re seed
Concerning the bunker....backside. If you put one to the side...it's out of play
Up the front mate. You don’t want too make it too easy now. An easy hole gets boring easily. Need too Cary a bunker with a wedge!
Yay!!!
It’s a shame you can’t get the 20lt bottles on your website. 😢
What did you need? I can get 20L sizes
@@LawnTips looking at prices of the brilliance in the 20l
And also the enhance
Can you send me an email at bensims@lawntips.net
Can get you a price Monday morning if that suits?
Also enhance is in 20L on the website currently
What species of bent is that? That stuff is reliable when it comes to repairing it self for real.
A few different varieties actually!
007 creeping bent
777 creeping bent
Flagstick creeping bent
Glad you got rid of that gay apple watch and now wearing a Garmin lol 👍
Chlorophyll, more like borophyll 😂
Such a classic 😂
Bunker left side of the green to protect the green (by the bare spots). Don’t see too many bunkers over greens.
i love you
