AMAZING ... EXCELLENT ... THE BEST VIDEO in UA-cam. I AM PRACTICING IT, AND IT WORKS SO WELL. THANK YOU SO MUCH CHUCK. I started playing golf 4 years ago, I was trying to fix my golf swing, and really this VIDEO is wonderful for my swing, my golf is going better. Thanks a lot
Brilliant exposition of where power comes from. Also very eloquently presented. Will definitely be spending time on the drill. Thanks very much for posting.
How do you post up and extended that lead leg while also getting the club low enough for after ball divot? That’s the part I struggle with (well 1 of the parts I struggle with 😂)
Aha, so you actually want to compress the ball, is that it Daviddear... or do you prefer Dear David? Seriously though, many of us many of us are not doing one of the following at impact: - FULLY extending our right arm at the elbow - FULLY extending our shoulder muscles - many mistakenly contract the shoulder muscles as though straining to pull will mistakenly help generate power and speed - Stretching our left lateral muscle upward (ribcage area between hip and shoulder) Here's a secret drill just for you and me but don't tell anyone, okay? Crumple up a piece of paper and put it in your throwing hand Raise the arm straight up at the elbow (where you would have it on a backswing) Vigorously throw the paper down to the point where you would have the golf ball What, is that the best you can do? Come on now, this time REALLY ROTATE/TWIST you shoulder and hip including... Drive your left leg into the ground, pushing hard on the ball of your left foot and locking your knee, stretch your left lateral UPWARD! Just be careful not to hit your toe with the crumbled paper - you don't want to hurt yourself...😜
Great video? This is why a “good” swing can still be mediocre with regards to distance and perceived power. Need to get to the range NOW! some of the best swings and ball flights I’ve experienced have been with more reckless abandon and letting my body move dynamically. Post up is subtle but always present. Thanks again!!!!
My number one issue is getting my left hip back. I can get everything else even the push up but because im used to basketball its almost more of a jump motion. Any tips on how to start the transition to avoid this hang up at the end?
I don't understand how this causes a whipping action for the club head. It doesn't seem analogous at all to the towel snapping action which seeps to have a totally different kinematic mechanism than the golf swing.
@@greendog2130brilliant, thanks! I have never heard that term before. But now that I googled it, I see the first reference is from Adam Young, one of my favorite golf coaches.

There is an old saying in baseball, and it applies to our game as well: "You can teach hitting, but you CAN'T teach power" It is a gift form the golf Gods. That is why they are on TV, and that is why we are watching them.
Not me mate I use the club every time. Clickbait answer! You could have said I hit the ball with soft wrists. Thanks for the well known, but hard to master method.
@@billhill4929 Bill, I use his methodology exclusively. I was being facetious in regard to his hitting with the legs. Rotary swing is absolutely the best instruction out in YT land.
No you hit i with your hands. Stop this crap about taking the arms out of it. Jack and tiger used a lot of arm. Also every good golfer ever. Stop teaching this crap
Anyone can get a free 3 day trial of RotarySwing (no credit card required) here: rotaryswing.com/c4/112146-arms-vs-body-release-in-the-golf-swing

Thanks for posting. No pun intended!
@@swisstraderHaha, and you are clever, too!
Outstanding description of how to use the left leg to produce power. Thanks
You got it spot on, now I've got a lot of work in perfecting it 😝 Thanks for this great advice 🤩
You explained the swing very well. Great demonstration and simplification of the working parts of the body that are involved!
🤯. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 excellently explained. I’ve never heard it like this before! 🙏🏽 for your vid! 😎🤩😃
Excellent!!! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Absolutely brilliant teaching and explaining, bravo👏👏
Great teaching
Brilliant explanation something I’ve never fully understood and seemingly so simple.
Glad you liked it!
Very well explained.
Great example guy. Thx.
Great video
That was excellent 😊
Great drill. This isn’t only a drill it’s my actual swing. I’m much more consistent with minimum loss of distance.
Great content!!!!
Brilliant
Great video
I've been using my club this whole time!

Where is this golf course ?
Kinda like Scottie scheffler drags his trail leg like its paralyzed 😂
I would use the term unweighting, as in skiing. You don't actually jump. You just unweight your left side.
I don't understand how this causes a whipping action for the club head. It doesn't seem analogous at all to the towel snapping action which seeps to have a totally different kinematic mechanism than the golf swing.
parametric acceleration is the name for the physical process.

How does this not conflict with your video about the right foot being the key to good ball striking? You have confused me.
So the videos you posted 5 years ago is a different style than what you teaching now???
Check out the goat theory videos to understand what changed and why
Not to be pedantic but wouldn’t it be more accurate to say you swing the club with your legs? 😊
Regardless, spot on instruction Chuck!

Hey dude. Why not check out my latest vids this is like a decade old and there’s more than one way to hit a ball
Obviously very good golfer but should hit a few balls. Pictures are with a thousand words. Demonstrate as well as verbalization. RRM
Then soon you will develop hip bursitis.
