Good morning Brock , I like that technology of the Bi Facial Solar panel! That is an excellent idea to maximize the amount of power that can be brought in by the panel. I hope that you can come up with a way of using the panel on your van. I'm sure that will be very useful in helping to run your AC this summer! Have a great day everybody !
This was interesting! 200 watts is an awesome add! I've been curious about bi-facial panels but wasn't confident in putting the cash out on the newer tech when I bought my stuff. But 120 watts from a 200 watt panel seems pretty low, albeit you're not in a bright full sun here. Many panels lose a ton of efficiency if there's even a tiny shadow on them (even so much as a shadow from a car antenna, a random leaf, or a bird dropping.) I noticed your test was done with shade (from your camera gear, the cardboard corner protectors, and a random bush) on the panels...and wondered if your results would have been different without that shadow. It sounds like you'll be keeping the panel so I'm hoping you do an update after having some time for it to find its place in your system.
Yea sun was going down and placement wasn’t ideal but I think I’ll be adding this to my setup at some point probly as a slide at deal or something I think full sun it’ll pull 200 easy
@@AussieVanMan Great, can't wait! Heads up that a 200w solar panel will only do about 160-180w in a full sun day with perfect placement. No panels produce the actual watts they say, except under carefully controlled, perfect lab test conditions.
You have the bottom panel of the solar panel, partially shaded with those little corner cardboard blocks. That will eliminate half of the output. from the lower panel you will not get anything because it is partially shaded. Remove all shade from the panel and you will do better
Exciting!! I love this option for you n I m looking forward to seeing the progress on a better system for you. Sounds like a worthwhile adventure. ❤❤❤❤❤❤😂
Have you seen the solar panels that can still charge in the shade? Sarah Yak installed them on her new van. I think that would be good so you don’t have to be in the sun all the time.
This company does not understand the concept of product packaging for safe delivery. I ordered four 200W solar panels from them. One panel arrived completely destroyed (bent frame and shattered glass). BougeRV sent me a replacement panel and it also arrived with shattered glass. I asked for another replacement and was told my Samyi the panel had been discontinued. No more panels! But, he would gladly give me a good deal if I ordered something else from them. So, if your BougeRV solar panel should fail during its warranty period, there is a good probability this company will not have backup inventory to support your warranty claim! This company is a joke! You have been warned.
I was your 100th like. Congratulations good vid. Unsure of the panel tho. I just got a renogy 250 watt bifacial 16bb. Hopefully it does better. I’m in pa too so idk
You would have to check the panels you’re looking at getting stacking in parallel stacks Amos together and in series stacks the bolts as long as you don’t go over your charge controllers limits you’ll be fine

Yea I think maybe a slide out or fold out will be the best way to ad this I’m gonna have to do some planning

No 2.5A with 32.5 volts, is 81.25 watts. 32.5×2.5=81.25. Having the cardboard on the sides will also knock out the cell nearest.

Wow!! I had no idea these types of panels existed. I love the idea of a slide out system; that will be great to see n know how it all works out.
Yes it’ll take some time to figure out but I’m thinking it’ll work!

Yea I’m gonna retest it actually probably in another video I wanna see how it does in better light
👍

Yea it’d be nice to squeeze that extra power in!
The weight of the panel is quite decent for a bifacial... roughly 22.5lb from the spec sheet. That's lighter than many standard 200W panels.
Yea it felt pretty light
looks good!
💚💙💜💚💙💜
the two corners of cardboard on the solar panels will restrict the incoming sun........... S
Yes I realized that after the fact I’m gonna do another test on it when I get time
Try 90 degree install tuning north to south vertical with light reflecting stone or snow …… think you’ll be most surprised……. Great white north ….. S

Haven’t heard of those ones I’ll have to look
with the 500lb drawer slides you could easily make a slide out solar shade. you could probly put a couple more on the other side to slide out.
Yea I was thinking something like that

Yea I’m gonna retest it in better sun if just been working long hours lately
Congrats on being my 100th like!!!
Very nice.
You’re missing out on summer in a van sir
I have a 100/30 victron 8:55 mppt Can I run 3 200w in parallel?

The 200w that you have. @@AussieVanMan
Lot of solar is good. 😊
That’s what I say lol
Another awesome video!
