You’re in for one heck of a roller coaster. This show had a massive budget for several years and they had an actual “walker” school. Twd is gonna test you for sure so just stick with it. Eventually you’ll have to watch the spinoff shows to tie everything together too. Super excited to see someone start the journey.
After watching the whole show it’s nice watching a person watch for the first time it brings that new excitement like you’re watching for the first time.

Rick telling the others to not get any walker blood or guts in their eyes or on their skin is just a precaution . It doesn’t necessarily mean they will turn if they do. Thru trial and error we learn along with the characters what not to do as the show progresses.

Walker is the term all of us TWD fans use, but one cool part of the show is how it shows that there is no universal term for the dead, since there's no longer internet or any way of linking together everyone. Every group we come across has a different name for them, but new members to our group always eventually adopt "walker"

When they filmed the first Season Michael Rooker ended up getting the cops called on him because people in other buildings thought he was a sniper The Atlanta SWAT team rushed to the scene and learned that Michael Rooker was just an actor Lol.
Remember the fear is the tainted blood getting into open wounds in order to get into their system. They are guessing right now because they don’t know how it’s happening.
YOURE HOOKED NOW😂😂 Notice the walkers picking up the rock, running and climbing the fence. Fans talked about how fake that was so the writers changed it later in the seasons. You will see.
Although yes this Season was directed by Frank Darabont who made particularly choices about the Walkers physicality (how they can run and climb etc) But It also kinda fits in with the story of decay In the beginning the Walkers are kinda fresh and as the series goes on the Walkers start decaying making them lose more motor functions as time passes.
That doesn’t really fit though. Because we see fresh zombies throughout the series and they don’t climb. But I digress. Every show is getting their feelers out at the beginning.

Fresher Zombies may have more use of their decomposing human bodies than rotting bodies Plus maybe some infected where physically fit which allowed some to Jog and Shamble instead of wobble and shuffle.
In the start of the series, people didn't know much about the walkers, therefore thinking they cannot get their things on their skin. You can indeed get it on your skin:)
You can get walker/zombie guts and blood on your skin, it just shouldn't enter your eyes, mouth, open cut, or any other orifice in your body, and even then it's not a guaranteed death sentence. So them getting it on their skin and being fine isn't a plot hole, it lines up with the logic of the show - people have smeared it on their face in-universe and been fine, because it didn't get in their eyes/mouth/nose.

You have met Merle Andrea T Dog Glenn Jackie and Morales. I hate Merle and Andrea ugh. Lori and Shane is on my shit list too. TWD came out 2010, I binged 2016 and watched live in 2017. I freaking love this show. I’m with you I don’t do scary scary, and TWD is not scary scary it’s just the gore which I can deal with.
The outbreak happened 59 days ago, Rick was shot 64 days ago. So 5 days after Rick being shot Lori & Shane happened, in alot of people’s opinions including mine Lori & Shane were already having an affair but it is never said. I believe they were just because of how fast Lori moved on after 5 days of Rick being shot, I mean could you done what Lori & Shane were doing?!? (I know I couldn’t even if 50 years passed)... Rick & Shane were best friends in highschool, college, police academy, adulthood, up to where they are now? Hence why 98% think/know Lori & Shane were messing around beforehand.

I would say this is a nerve racking suspenseful type of series . Might put some fear in your heart but not as much as horror movies
To be honest in a state of panic sometimes you just don’t think straight and you get clumsy I would not have trusted Merle anyway He is too violent.
