I had 6 size 3 and a glass of white wine for 10 euro last week. Enjoyed!
In korea, they cost about 18$ per kg (without shells). I never thought oyster was a pricey food.
Love these lil suckers
But has anyone else noticed a lack of taste lately,
Fl and LA specifically?
Kumamoto from Japan are amazing really small buy massive flavor.
You're probably being served blue point oysters or maybe ones from the San Francisco Bay area as both are mediocre in taste. Kumamotos from Puget Sound, Seattle taste really good as do Massachusetts varieties...Island Creek are my favorite from there!
@@riproar11 thank you for the advise
Been real disappointed
But have new ones to try now

I've been shucking oysters for almost 20 years now served them to thousands of people in my life time and not once have I ever eaten one.
Wait they are? I had no idea, my father occasionally brings home bucketloads of them. It's pretty affordable where I'm from.

I’ve had these before, a suggestion I personally have is always order P.E.I when you’re in the mood for them. They are grown on a string is certain places, so they have no sand in them as a result. Also ask for smaller ones as their taste is saltier and often about %25 less.
