Fun fact: The original creators wanted to tell this story in the original series with aang but could never find the right time to put it in the story. Since Aang was already very tune in with his spirituality, I thought it was perfect that korra was the one to go one this journey.
26:43 Raava: "About a year in your time" (To master the four elements) - Brings a new meaning to when Rokou told Aang he has a year to learn the elements, but that he has done it before.
Dude i was laterally thinking about writing the same thing :) It make that episode when Aang speak with Rokou very powerful , like Yoan did it so you can do it again 😮 deep shit right there
A few interesting notes: Wan receives the elements in the exact order which then determined in what order the Avatar will be reborn as nation wise - he was the first "firebending Avatar", after him, he will be reborn in the air-nation, the second element Wan learned, then water, then earth. What I think might just be a coincidence rather than planned, but in Mandarin Chinese "Wan", depending on the tone, could mean "10 thousand" - which is exactly the cycle of harmonic convergence and eras of light and dark, as Raava repeated in this episode. I love these two episodes. They give so much depth and history and fill gaps of world building. It's just lovely.
The second part about the name is interesting. Because of another character with a similar name (that happens to show up later): Wan Shi Tong, "He Who Knows Ten Thousand Things."
I've noticed that there may be some kind of biological order as well.. The last water bender before Korra was a male and the last Airbender before Aang was a female..
My headcanon/theory is that Vaatu probably “won” at least once since Time Began (but bc Raava came back 10k years later and continually triumphed over Darkness from that point onward, he might not even consider it a victory, seeing as he doesn't seem to understand that she/Light truly can't be destoyed) and as a result, spirits were corrupted and attacked the first humans (and humans may also have been corrupted as well and then the first human vs spirit war happened) then the lion turtles let the humans take refuge with them. Over time, humans lost touch with each other, hence Wan not knowing there were other lion turtle cities, but the divide, fear and prejudice towards spirits was passed down through the generations of humans until Wan’s time and even throughout. And this could be a reason Raava knew so much of what would hypothetically happen if Vaatu were to win, because if he won before, Raava basically regenerated herself from him with the world in such a mess but the spirits were mostly neutral again with her around (but still resentful and hostile towards most humans given their possible history), but humans still lived in fear of the spirits which is why the lion turtles allowed them their respective element for protection if they needed to hunt for food. And honestly, I loved these episodes and these characters so much, I’m actually working on a larger scale fan fiction about Wan’s life as the avatar after battling Vaatu and closing the portals, even making my own ocs for the time period and collaborating with others too. I’m not sure if there ever will be a spin-off about wan’s life or not, but whether or not there will be, “The Journey of Wan” is my current passion project if you guys were ever interested in a fanmade continuation of his life lol Edit: you can find more info about my fic on the following social medias: thejourneyofwan-fanproject (tumblr), thejourneyofwanofficial (instagram). I do have a Twitter or X page in the works too but when it's ready with more updates, I'll make that announcement.
Interesting theory but isn't it reversed tho. seems like the spirits hate or are quicker to hostilities towards humans way more than humans towards spirits.
@@BhBc8f8right. I was thinking the same thing. Based on how vaatu is speaking it seems like he has not "won" yet. Would it make more sense that vaatu corrupted the humans' mind to attack the spirits, hence the sprits' distain to humans, and the lion turtles took in some human survivors that is why there seems to be just a few of them. Which also explains why the spirits despise all humans because they cannot physically see if a human is corrupted. But I would love to read op story, "The Journey of Wan" seems like a dope title specially since there was a book titled "journey of one" which is based on universal philosophy and guide to see the choices we make that we think are wrong but can be also loved.
@@BhBc8f8 my comment did put more focus on the human side, but it could go both ways too. In a hypothetical timeline, since both humans and spirits were separated at one point, and Vaatu supposedly created one of the portals and letting the other spirits cross over, either the early humans with whatever civilization or territories they may have developed were threatened by the spirits claiming the land as their own possibly from Vaatu’s influence (not necessarily corruption to dark spirits, Vaatu’s a good manipulator after all as he did trick Wan into freeing him from Raava) and humans were just defending themselves, some humans may even out of spite attack them first as a show of dominance, thus some spirits have the idea that humans are greedy and have no respect for nature, etc when really all everyone is trying to do is to survive, including the spirits. I think there’s a lot of misunderstanding between the two parties, because it is possible for them to co-exist peacefully so long as it is proven especially after years of prejudice and possibly war between them.
@ray_light4414 mainly because spirits, bending and Raava and Vaatu. It is such a core component of the universe that not making it fit with your original narrative is a retcon alone.
This double episode is definitely a fan favorite overall. The art style changeup to emphasize how long ago Wan's story is, was an excellent choice. I personally really enjoyed Wan's story and getting to see other lion turtles.
Also, they switched animation studios with these episodes. They switched at the start of season 2 (thats why the animation looked different) and switched back to the original studio starting with these episodes
@suddenimpulse030 reviews do not represent the true stance people take. Not all people care enough about it to write reviews. You can see a ton of people in Reddit who just say "yeah LOK is trash" and move on with their lives.
Just in case you were wondering; Lion Turtles gave the ability to create fire, earth etc pp but the actual bending and its art was thought by dragons, bison, badgermoles and the moon spirit to the human.
@@BobGnarley. A classic argument, but you guys forget the fact that lion turtle in ATLA literally said "We bent not the elements but the energy within us", and somehow people bend elements before the avatar.
@@yabada7866bending is an art, not power. If you didn't noticed, they never called it "bending" in these episodes but only "power of the elements" "In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements but the energy within ourselves." The turtle was talking about himself. They're giving and taking away power.
@jekjekWAMPIPTI so turtles bent elements after that? Dude you're not even thinking before forming your argument. Btw, it is still considered as bending, when you control the elements you're still bending. You don't become a caligropher right after you learn writing, but you can still write.
The lion turtles gave the human their power so they can protect themselves against the spirits and survive. When Wan became the avatar he made almost everysingle spirit return into the spirit world so they did not need protection against the spirits anymore (That's also why they lived in the lion turtles shell, the forest and other regions were being used by the spirits) with the spirits gone AND the avatar being born the lion turtles did not need to anything more. Also that'show the kingdoms were formed. Their bending skills now became hereditary from the original masters instead of coming from the lion turtles.
@@Lightning_Lance 😂 why do they have to be reincarnated why can't it just be passed down to their offspring like how nature normally works. The LT only gave powers to a few people that's why most humans can't bend.
@@BhBc8f8 that's just like, your opinion man. :) (it's just headcanon. my idea isn't supported by the show at all except that we know reincarnation is real in the atla world. I just like the idea that bending is tied to the soul as well)
Why are the spirits roaming around the world in the first place? It seems a bit greedy to come and also take so much of the human world that the humans have to live copped up on the backs of turtles
One fascinating observation regarding Ravva and The Avatar being a joined entity is that The Avatar will ALWAYS be someone of pure spirit. It is impossible for an Avatar to be evil, because Ravva is the spirit of Light and Peace.
26:03 This line from Raava always fascinated me: she refers to the Lion Turtle as "Ancient One." This coming from the primordial spirit of light, a representation of an aspect of the world...yet the turtle is still "ancient" to her and a being she speaks to with reverence.
Rava chooses the person with a good heart that why there never been a evil avatar and it would also explain why Roku was chosen to be the avatar instead of sozin
Wait why would it consider sozin at all tho ,Why wouldn't it just be straight up roku 😅 like I feel like there's no "Instead" and it just happen to go to roku, no matter who he was friends with.
Raave is attached to wans soul... wherever he goes raava goes too...its a 2 in 1 package deal...all avatars are the same person... strictly speaking any avatar speaking to past Avatars should make no sense... and in an interview someone asked this from the creaters...they said that it's one of the liberties taken to make people understand it better. And raava is storing wan s memories after each life time and act sort of like an artificial intelligence that answer a question how the same person would answer the question if he remembered his past lives... that's why conversation is possible...raava is not choosing.... she's sticking through with the one Choice she made.... everyone in the avatar universe is born again and again not just the avatar
One Tiny clarification: Raava doesn’t choose the next avatar. When she said "We are bonded forever", she meant it. She is fused with Wan's soul, and simply follows his reincarnation. This is what she means by "We will be together for ALL of your lifetimes, and we will never give up". Every avatar is an incarnation of Wan, and being able to talk to their past lives is an ability made possible by Raava. Side note: The power of the avatar state is not determined by past lives, but by Raava's power/strength.
People give Korra a lot of shit for how bad she fucks up during the show and being gullible, but Wan here looked at Vaatu and though "I bet this guy is legit" and then broke the universe by getting involved. And in the 10.000 years the cycle of avatars forgot to pass on that little tidbit about "why we don't touch the spirit portals at the poles" - by the time Roku comes around this entire knowledge seems to have compressed to "well, if you die in the avatar state the avatar cycle stops" skipping over the part where this is intimately tied to the fact that the avatar is bonded with the spirit of light. So either Wan was a bit dodgy with his successor (an airbender who we'd expect made spirital connection with him) or it got lost along the way by some of the other avatars not treating this as a priority information. Point being: Korra is a mess, but she's like mess no. 126.
Except the fact that avatar can contact not only with his direct predecessor, but with every avatar ever lived, like how Aang got in touch with YungChen. So if Wan wanted he could contact both Korra and Aang and Roku and kyoshi and so on. Same way the kyoshi helped the aang when he was on trial in that 2 season episode
@@AB-ko2mmWell, remember that the only Avatars that Aang could speak to WERE those Avatars. He only went up the line of Avatars by a certain number of people. Thus, it’s reasonable to assume that the current Avatar either can’t or doesn’t have the time/patience to connect to those Avatars from a long, long time ago. Especially since those Avatars aren’t really as connected to how things are now. I mean, would Aang talk to Yangchen about the issues with the Fire Nation and the Hundred Year War when Roku, the Avatar before him, is more up to speed on the topic? You have to remember that the Avatar only speaks to their past lives when they need guidance on specific issues of their time that the people around them may not be able to answer, and you wouldn’t speak to a caveman about how to solve the issue of, collecting and redistributing tax dollars to different social programs.
They said there are dozens of lion turtles and I always thought that meant there are other elements that we don't know about, but I think it just meant there are different lion turtles who can bend that specific element. And energy bend
Yeah that's not even that many avatars if you assume an average lifespan of ~70 years its only about 140, and thats assuming there arent more outliers like Kyoshi and Aang. The total amount of Avatars since Wan could be less than a hundred.
@@lilybirdflowergum8683 thats mostly a lore problem, because of the implications. If you take out Kyoshi, Aang and Roku that leaves the remaining Avatars with an average lifespan of ~53. Which isn't in itself an unusual lifespan but it does become problematic if you factor in that there seem to be no statues of children-Avatars to correct the average down. Because now you have a bunch of fully trained Avatars dying in their prime just to balance out the ones that made it to 60. Even with the Avatar being a uniquely hazardous job thats a lot of Kuruks.
You're right Spartan, Wan does have the Adam and Eve symbolism - it's the 'Trickster' archetype in mythology, the character who steals forbidden knowledge from the gods for humanity and is punished. That figure usually as a kind of bridge between the world of gods and men (sounds familiar right?). Characters like Hermes, Thoth, Anansi, Prometheus. Wan's story most closely resembles Prometheus: he literally steals fire from the gods and is banished and tortured by animals, just like Wan. Prometheus also encounters Pandora, another character Wan embodies who opens the Box and releases Sin into the world, just as Wan unleashes Vaatu. And just as Wan remains with Raava, the Spirit of Hope remains with Pandora. It's interesting to think about how much the entire concept of the Avatar is based on this trickster archetype, Aang especially. He's a playful prankster who mediates between the world of spirits/gods and men.
Raava doesn't choose who to bond with. When the Avatar dies, she simply goes to his next reincarnation. As she said, she'll be with Wan in all his next lives, so wherever his soul reincarnates, Raava goes.
The underappreciated parts to these episodes are all of the beautiful homages to Miyazaki movies. The spirits' designs, the traveling montage in the first episode mirroring Ashitaka's journey, the scene crossing the bridge like in Spirited Away, etc.
Fun fact: Wan means 10 thousand in Chinese, and sounds like" one" in English. And wan was the avatar number one who lived 10 thousand years ago. The creators put a lot of symbolisms in this episode
I understand spartan wanting more, not in a bad way. It was so intriguing that he just wants more. Yes they could make a series out of it but couldnt do that here cause this is korras story.
To answer Pudgey's question- I believe Raava's way of choosing the next Avatar is literally the baby born the second of the previous Avatar's last breath. Like how reincarnation works in some cultures, from what I can remember.
One of my favorite fan theories is that Yue from ATLA was born so weak because she was meant to be filled with the Avatar spirit, but since Aang was in stasis instead of dead, she needed the Moon and Ocean spirit to give her life instead. Not canon of course, but I think its a fun theory that would work!
Not really. The main form of afterlife in the Avatarverse is reincarnation, ie: everyone reincarnates. It's just that the Avatar is the only being to possess knowledge of previous reincarnations + the other elements. So when Raava says that she'll be with him for all of his lifetimes, she means it. They are all reincarnations of Wan, not just random people.
@vgfunman actually, we never really hear them talk about reincarnation for anyone other than the Avatar, unless it's brought up in the Kiyoshi books which I haven't finished yet. The Storm definitely implies that the new Avatar is born the second the old one dies, not concieved at that momeng, which seems more of a passing on than a reincarnation- though I guess it depends on when the creators felt life begins/when a soul becomes present, at conception, during pregnancy or at birth. But that's clearly not something we're supposed to think that hard about in the context of the show.
It was one of the most annoying things that people complained about when these episodes came out was “oH thEy gOt beNding frOm tHe liOn tuRtles!?” I mean that’s how Aang got energy bending. Soo… I like that they expanded on the lore. That they received bending from the turtles, but they developed the art of bending from the Natural Masters of each element. Very glad y’all picked up on that. Really glad y’all are enjoying this segment of the series. Can’t wait for the third!
Wan is being reborn and raava follows him wherever he goes...all avatars are the same person. I get why reincarnation is kinda hard to wrap your head around specially for non Asian cultures...but learning about them is one of the points to reacting to show like this i think...love your reactions
the concept of reincarnation isn't as simple as "it's the same person reborn". There's thousands of interpretations through which lens to view the concept from. The idea that every Avatar is wan is not accurate. Reincarnation can work as a balancing act too. One avatar leads to another.
@@-jg9pi i explained according to Buddhism... , which is the core base for this story line according to creaters. Raava is attached to wans soul..(saying soul is wrong but it's too lengthy to explain here). wherever he goes raava goes too...its a 2 in 1 package deal...all avatars are the same person... strictly speaking any avatar speaking to past Avatars should make no sense... and in an interview someone asked this from the creaters...they said that it's one of the liberties taken to make people understand it better. @@snowdrop1414 yup based on reincarnation in Buddhism (which will all know is a huge foundation for a lot of how ATLA & LoK spiritual stuff and element bending works), I fully agree with you.
Aang absolutely connected with the first Avatar. Just look at how Wan imprisoned Vaatu in that elemental sphere, remind you of something? Aang uses it during his battle with Ozai in the very last episode of A:TLA, only that time he was inside of the elemental sphere
I'd ask you both to think about the difference between holding a sword, and being a swordsman. People complain that korra recons things, and this gets a lot of hate. The lion turtles have humans "the power of fire" but then after Wan learns from a dragon the other humans comment on how he moves the fire like it's part of him self. The power was given by the lion turtles. But the original benders from atla, the moon dragons sky bison and badger moles took that power and made them benders. They turned a person holding a sword (power of fire) into a, swordsman (firebender).
The origin of the Avatars, these episodes are the best of the book, and is also a good lore for us to understand 16:13 🥲 Prometheus is proud 45:57 the main reason I stayed in this channel: the final discussion 😊
So Pudgey, Raava doesn't 'choose' a new human to bond with - her and Wan's spirits were bound together permanently. The magical light we see leaving Wan's body at his death is their combined spirits moving on to be reborn in a new body.
It’s safe to say that the Avatar who came after Wan succeeded in teaching humans how to respect the spirits. Being an air nomad, and all. With the help of his people, they helped make the Avatar role known to the world
I think spartan's critiques were well reasoned, but despite some flaws I still love this two parter for it's amazing worldbuilding, animation, and how it contextualises a lot of spiritual things in both ATLA and Korra
Yknow this is random but I feel like it'd be so funny for yall to just reverse your intro animation one time without warning, have Pudgey be the one to kick Spartan. Maybe on April fools day. Then it goes back to normal and you never even mention it happened. Deny it if people bring it up 😂
We never had info that there is only one lion turtle. And this name convention sugest that is just a species. Dont you think if it was only one then Aang would say something like "oh it a legendary Bob the Lion turle", and not "oh is A lion turtle?"
16:10 The awnser to that question is simple. It's because he wants them to be able to protect themselves. He's nice like that. And no firebenders were not the 1st benders, but I'm sure you figured that out already
Rava doesn't choose. Like she said "we will be together for all of YOUR life times." Wan is reborn and that reincarnation is the next avatar. The light leaving Wan was both of their souls combined. At least that's the way I understand it. Of course I could be wrong
Another interesting thing is the avatar cycle. It is fire air water earth. Which is basically the order in which Wan received his elements from the lion turtles. Seeing as Wan was basically a Firebender the next avatar would be an Airbender. Idk thought it was kinda cool to know 😅
@@vetarlittorf1807 Why are they "naturally attuned" though. So some animals could just fckn bend? No one has to give them that power? They could just do it. Why? They said that? Im fr askin 😭
Basically what your saying is that they could do a whole series on Wan, and i couldn't agree more. I would love it if they did an OG avatar training with the spirits and going on adventures series!
I understand Spartan cause years later I’m still wanting MORE lmao. Even with the Kyoshi and Yangchen novels + comics, it’s been years since we had a new avatar
You're comment just made a lot of sense of the entire season 2. I guess this season showed "The Core" of the entire series. From world building to the Avatar itself I will NOT spoil it, but there's another "Core" thing that will show up later...😊😊😊
Funny.... this is the season that alienates every atla fan and completelyyyy ruins korra as a show. Season 1 is ok as a one and done show. Season 2 is frickin trashhhhhhh lolol i dont get the fandom
fun fact : the way avatar getting choosed from Fire , Air , Water, Earth is how Wan got the elements from the lion turtles. 1st fire 2nd Air 3rd Water and 4th Earth.
When the chu brother said “even when you have the power you’re afraid to use it.” 10:02 , Ozai said the same thing to Aang before getting his bending taken.
Great reaction guys like always, and thing about one very important thing for the 1 avatar he had no past life to ask for guidance or help him he had to figure it on his own :) and this is the best 2 part episodes of all the Avatar Franchises in my opinion
Answer of your 37:19 question "I wonder how she choses tho." - The order of Avatar ( Fire - Air - Water - Earth) is Which Wan's elements learning order .. Remember.. First of all he learned fire.. Then air.. Then water... Then earth.. Because of this.. If there is a fire avatar, you'll sure that next avatar will born in Air nomads.. After than that he will born at water tribes after after than that..He will born at earth kingdom... That's the avatar cycle order..
Avatars are always creating problems. Aang allowed the fire nation to continue their reign for a 100 years, roku allowed them to takeover in the 1st place. But Wan takes the cake as he disrupted the balance of the whole world, allowing caose to be let loose
I have been waiting for this episode ever since you two were talking about aangs tattoos. I still have to wait until Kora's second to last seaseon to totally talk about everything. Y'all should go back and look at the airbenders tattoos from avatar Wan's time period.
People love to say these episodes "ruin" avatar the last Airbender and some of the coolness to that story but i completely disagree. We know turtles can give abilities from atla and now we are left to assume that something happened to them and they decided to leave the info with dragons/badger moles/sky bison/ and the moon. The story of why the avatar cycle continues is so good imo. 9.9/10 episodes. Love the style too
Well personally I dislike these episodes because I think they completely fail to understand the concept on yin and Yang. One isn’t better than the other and both are equally important. But they just end up being light = good and dark = bad. For some reason raava losing control is bad for the world while vaatu losing control is good. And I also don’t like the cookie cutter spirits always shoved in the background. I really like the art and the idea they were going for I just think they didn’t nail the meaning and symbolism behind it.
I respect his opinion but man he is hard to impress 😂 but yeah definitely a master piece for me personally, down to the art , story, animation everything. My jaw was on the ground the entire 2 parter 😂
I think everything is great except for the spirits and raava/vaatu. I really like them expanding on the lord but personally I think all of the meanings fell completely short. I could go into more detail but basically I think the spirits are super boring they’re all just cookie cutter copy paste, while raava and vaatu fail to encapsulate yin and Yang and the meaning behind it. Art is amazing though.
I wouldnt say the lion turtles themselves "treated their cities with unequlity", i think its more like that isnt their purpose. As far as we're told, humans lived on their backs so the lion turtles could protect them from the spirits. The equality issue is probably directly due to the "rulers" of the city.
These episodes are the only reason why I really have Korra a chance! I was half ass watching the first season and even season 2 and when I saw this story and animation I was like WOW and went back and even though I still don’t put it even close to what Avatar was I still think that Korra was great and these episodes was everything to me!

I'm on board with Pudgey. This is one of my favourite set of episodes in the entire franchise.

Just in case you were wondering; Lion Turtles gave the ability to create fire, earth etc pp but the actual bending and its art was thought by dragons, bison, badgermoles and the moon spirit to the human.
How does "creating" earth and water work?
correct, there is a whole set of people who think that waterbending was magically given by the moon. love that these episodes clear that up
@@BobGnarley. A classic argument, but you guys forget the fact that lion turtle in ATLA literally said "We bent not the elements but the energy within us", and somehow people bend elements before the avatar.
@@yabada7866bending is an art, not power. If you didn't noticed, they never called it "bending" in these episodes but only "power of the elements"
"In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements but the energy within ourselves." The turtle was talking about himself.
(it's just headcanon. my idea isn't supported by the show at all except that we know reincarnation is real in the atla world.

@@snowdrop1414 That false cos it only rava that goes to body to body not the person that why every avartar got different personalitys
One Tiny clarification:
Raava doesn’t choose the next avatar.
25:44 Raava is the equivalent of having three extra inventory slots (until you master the elements)
Also 16:13-16:17 the music always gives me chills

Definitely gives a different perspective to Korra!
Its honestly silly. Every single Avatar we know of has made major mistakes, including Aang. Avatars are still human.
@@AB-ko2mm Wan DID contact Korra just now, but there were some conditions needed for that level of connection.

It's wild thinking that Wan lived ~10,000 years prior to Korra.
Yeah that's not even that many avatars if you assume an average lifespan of ~70 years its only about 140, and thats assuming there arent more outliers like Kyoshi and Aang. The total amount of Avatars since Wan could be less than a hundred.
@@oq1106 There are roughly around 180 individual statues visible in the southern air temple so there are at least that many.
@@oq1106I’m pretty sure there’s 181 Avatar statues. And that’s not including Aang or Korra. So that’s about 183.
Also hanuman and Wukong had similar arcs.
Raava doesn't choose who to bond with. When the Avatar dies, she simply goes to his next reincarnation. As she said, she'll be with Wan in all his next lives, so wherever his soul reincarnates, Raava goes.
THAT'S IT! THE BEST TWO EPISODES EVERRRRR 👀
I'm with Pudgey on this one... just enjoying her enthusiasm for it
I would say its the best episode of the whole show ;)
Omg gross. Did u even see atla?
Oof...
What you call symbolism, i call childish and corny lol
This arc is trash and hurts the original awesomeness of atla.
That false cos if that was true then most Avatars be evil so rava chooses the person with a good heart
How many Avatars does it take to bring peace to the world?

Wan is being reborn and raava follows him wherever he goes...all avatars are the same person. I get why reincarnation is kinda hard to wrap your head around specially for non Asian cultures...but learning about them is one of the points to reacting to show like this i think...love your reactions
the concept of reincarnation isn't as simple as "it's the same person reborn". There's thousands of interpretations through which lens to view the concept from. The idea that every Avatar is wan is not accurate. Reincarnation can work as a balancing act too. One avatar leads to another.

Literally amongst my favourite episodes from avatar as a whole! Love origin stories
Another interesting thing is the avatar cycle. It is fire air water earth. Which is basically the order in which Wan received his elements from the lion turtles. Seeing as Wan was basically a Firebender the next avatar would be an Airbender. Idk thought it was kinda cool to know 😅
I think Rava has to choose a vessel strong enough to control the elements, and pure enough for her intentions.

Wan's sort of an "Alladin meets Robin Hood" type of character.
Keep in mind: The Lion Turtles only gave people the elements. People then learned to bend from the original benders.
Which would be the animals? Wouldn't they have to give them the ability also? This stuff confusing a lil 😅
@@cjjackson2423 No it isn't. The original benders are simply naturally attuned to their elements. There's nothing confusing about it.

Avatars are always creating problems. Aang allowed the fire nation to continue their reign for a 100 years, roku allowed them to takeover in the 1st place. But Wan takes the cake as he disrupted the balance of the whole world, allowing caose to be let loose

If you look for the light, you will likely find it. But if you look for the dark that is all you will ever see. - Iroh
I’m sure someone on here mentioned it but the battlefield where Wan died, was seen in the Zuko Alone episode
5:16 I cannot unhear Kronika's voice here
Thats why the avatar can only bend all four elements at the same time when he/she in the avatar state. Unless he/she bend only one element at a time.
These episodes were truly unexpected!

This Episode Is Pure Beauty Enjoy.
They overthink everything 😂
I wouldnt say the lion turtles themselves "treated their cities with unequlity", i think its more like that isnt their purpose. As far as we're told, humans lived on their backs so the lion turtles could protect them from the spirits. The equality issue is probably directly due to the "rulers" of the city.
Wan story is peak Avatar. It's just too good.
It was a masterpiece what more do you want

These episodes are the only reason why I really have Korra a chance! I was half ass watching the first season and even season 2 and when I saw this story and animation I was like WOW and went back and even though I still don’t put it even close to what Avatar was I still think that Korra was great and these episodes was everything to me!
This is why you can get thru season 2. Season 3 is epic
It’s only uphill from here folks!
