► 4:40 - Time jump to where I start talking specifically about if the Harley Iron 883 is a good starter bike.
________
I get this question all the time: Is the Iron 883 a good starter bike? The answer to that? It's not a simple yes or no answer, but rather comes down to what you are comfortable with. Think of it like a glove. I wear extra large gloves, but they're not going to fit someone well that wears medium gloves. Unfortunately it's not as easy as 'one size fits all,' so you have to do some research to find what you're comfortable with. After learning to ride safely of course (MSF course!)
Hopefully this video is able to give a little exposure on if the Iron 883 will be a good starter bike for you, or help to guide you in finding your first motorcycle.
Please feel free to comment with any questions you might have below, and I'll try to answer them to the best of my knowledge.
As always, thanks for watching and your continued support! We just hit over 1,000 subs, can't thank you all enough. Ride safe out there!

The best bike in the world is the one you HAVE and RIDE.
I miss my bike
Mr. Man How true.
amen brother
You said it all Mr. Man. All riders should try to help each other regardless of what brand they ride.
So my Vespa is the best bike ever!
4:40 This is when he actually answers the question.
Goddamn, I was wondering, so much digression. Get to the fucking point.
B M thanks ...
It’s in the description anyway
Thanks. What a load of waffle before
Not all heros wear capes. . .
Can confirm, the 883 is a nearly perfect first bike. Very forgiving handling, crisp shifting, no electronic features to distract you, and enough power to keep you from getting bored. Even after I get a bigger bike, I’m keeping my sporty
So, you ride an 883, shoot 9mm, live in Orlando, and have (from what I saw in a previous video), a Honda Fit! Seems we have a lot in common you and I. Keep the videos coming, love them.
883, 9mm, Orlando all correct, but don't drive a Honda Fit. Thanks man, glad you like the vids!
Right when I was first looking for a motorcycle people kept saying "you're a big guy you need a big bike anything under a 1000ccs won't be able to carry you" (I'm 6'4" and 200+lbs) and I test rode my neighbor's 2009 Suzuki Boulevard and that bike has an 883 and it launched my ass off the line from the start.
Naturally I was surprised because I thought I needed a huge bike and did not expect the Suzuki equivalent to a sportster to launch my big ass that quickly without any trouble at all. So now I'm looking at getting an Iron 883 as my first Harley
Gotta love the aftermarket support you get with these. I'd love to build a dirt tracker with a 883 sportster, but you could really do almost anything with it.
Thank you sir.. this 883 will be my first bike and I have been looking at em for about 8 months now. Can't wait till spring and warmer weather ,so I can ride and enjoy it everyday.
thanks man... I'm just using my Samsung phone for now. I'll be picking up a Gopro here in next week or so
The PDC
How's the Iron journey coming along? I'm a soon to be rider, and I can't wait to hop on a bike!
The PDC yeah how’s it going?
How’s the ride going??
@@savagenez9584 sold it bout 2 months ago. In the spring I'm going bigger 😁
That .45 comparison is spot on!
"The 45 is God's caliber!" Pshhhh... haha
Those people are so damn ridiculous. Seriously every firearms instructor i have ever met or seen on youtube shoots 9mm and recommends 9mm over any other caliber.
BLOCKHEAD Hey man can you please subscribe to my channel?
Kraken I'm an experienced shooter. Own everything, but 9mm remains my fav
Shot a .40 and a subcompact 9mm. 9mm is plenty in a tiny carry pistol.
Don’t forget it’s weight. It’s heavy enough for your first Harley and light enough to save if you keep grabbing the front brake like i did twice because i was super scared of the power at take off. I’m now riding around my neighborhood because of this guy. He definitely will get you over your fears and riding.
Love your intuitive vids man! I plan on getting my first bike in a few months and you have definitely built up my confidence. Thank you!!
I bought a 2011 Yamaha Stryker as my first bike. 1300cc, 650lbs, and long wheelbase. Never ridden a motorcycle before. After an hour of riding and about 5 miles put on it on back roads, I'm able to take turns without losing my balance and can do low speed turns well.
It's all about who you are and how quick of a learner you are. Just buy what is most comfortable to you.
I’m 110 pound girl and I bought 2019 iron 883... although the bike still gives me butterflies I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s not good for 100 pound girl...I’m confident this bike is perfect for anyone who loves it ❤️
I want one
I don’t think he was attempting to be negative towards women riding it. I think he was giving an overall opinion that a smaller woman might not want to start on it, but obviously everyone has their own comfort level on everything
@@zachwheat6709 it is heavy for someone my size but with an adjustment on the shocks and taking that first ride off your road it was perfect for me! I’ll have it for a long time 😊
@@electrasky4266 I’m happy u ride, the world needs more women that ride. I’m 18, 6’2 and 265 looking to find some good options for me. I’ve always dreamed of riding with my boys, hoping to start on this and then upgrade to the breakout
Thanks Blockhead for all the great videos and advice! I purchased a Iron 883 2 weeks ago! I’m having a blast. Your videos have helped tremendously!
Was this your first bike?
Yes it is my first bike. I’m riding it today as a matter of fact! I love it!
Great video man! I am 17 years old and I have always wanted to ride a motorcycle but haven't put much thought into it. Your videos have really helped me! I am now looking into taking the MSF course. Take care!
+sams worldfan Awesome to hear! Ride safe 👍🏼
Did you get one?? I was 17 6yrs ago too in this same situation and still have not gotten one lmao
I agree about the 9mm. ENJOYED ANOTHER FINE VIDEO
Just bought one today. I’m 6’1 245. Forward controls 10” apes. It fits me like a glove. I wanted something I could ride low and slow. I absolutely love it! I was able to hop of off a dirt bike and onto the Harley with ease.
6'2 255lbs and I am thinking of one of these .
Thanks for this video first off. Love the view. But I went to Harley today to look at my very first Harley. I’ve basically watched every video of yours on the 883 and I’m in love. I can’t wait to purchase it. Thanks blockhead peace ✌️ out brother.
Excellent videos, sir. One of my favorite channels, and this video rocks! Talk of motorcycles and firearms...what a great video!
I'm looking at returning to ride after many years off, and your videos are extremely informative as well and entertaining. I'll more than likely go with either the 883 or 1200. And taking a riders safety course is a must. Thanks for a great channel, sir.
Great video once again block! I liked the video before even watching the video, just by reading the caption lol. Keep up the good work man!
Thanks for doing these reviews. Your earlier review of the 883 helped me decide on my 883 Iron purchase in June (1st bike) after taking the safety course! 3,000 miles later, I'm so glad that I started with this bike. My daughter (6-0) has the Roadster 1200, which is quite top-heavy and has fallen on me. In the exact same situation, I was able to stabilize myself upright on the 883 (I'm 5-8). It's FUN to ride, customize as a cruiser or cafe style, and discover your preferences!
My pleasure on the reviews, thanks for tuning in! I'm glad to hear the video helped you decide on your purchase! It sounds like you're having a great experience with the bike thus far. Thanks for your post! Ride safe out there :)
What does (5-8) mean
This video really helped with my end decision. Thank You
+Madrid_ iv Glad to help! Ride safe :)
Great video Blockhead! I just purchased my own Iron 883, and I am nervous as hell about riding it my first time. I have a MFS course scheduled for Thursday/Friday, and am looking forward to that. Been watching you, and a few other motovloggers, and have been learning a lot just based off the vids. Keep em comin!
Don't be nervous! You should be much more confident and comfortable after the MSF course. Take your time and go at your own pace man, respect it and you'll be fine. Thanks for the feedback and support, glad to be of help! Best of luck in the MSF course, and enjoy the new bike. Ride safe out there!
BLOCKHEAD First day of motorcycle class, and it was awesome! They had honda Groms,
and a few TW 200s. Got the hang of balancing it real fast. I'm hooked now!

Hey, how's your journey coming along? I'm so stoked about riding. Like many of the other people who commented, I'm really looking forward to purchasing an Iron 883!
The 9mm vs .45 explanation had me convinced
The comparison to the .45 argument was perfectly spot on. Your videos have made me more introspective on this bike, I definitely think this will be my first!
Great videos thank you for making them. Your humour is on point! I enjoy learning from your videos and the laughs are great 😃
Thanks Laura!
I know I'm 7 years late, but I just bought my first bike, and it was a 2021 883. I took my MSF course 6 months before buying and I took all that time researching and sitting on bikes and I instantly fell in love with the 883. Just be patient and find the bike that'll compliment you and you feel comfortable on.
Ive been attracted to this kind of style on a bike. Im hoping to get my license very soon. Appreciate the video ! Thank you
Forgot about the 72 in the sportster lineup. Gorgeous machine
Coming from a R1 to a R6 to finally my 2017 883. The 883 has been the most enjoyable. Cruising is more fun then potential tickets or death that you caused from speed on a sport bike. I would love a bigger harley but baby steps you're young and plenty of time make a choice and go from there.
+Collin Andrew Definitely a different machine 👍🏼
Collins Hands why r1 to r6 ?
Thought about getting a 883 😊👍 looks fun . Subbed to ya!
I just got my first bike a few weeks ago. It's a 2006 Suzuki Boulevard M50. I was tempted by the Iron 883 but it was just too expensive plus with it being a first bike I know it's probably going to go down once or twice. Anyways, awesome channel and keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the review bro

I carry a .380 auto... the ballistics on Hornady is impressive, I sure don't want to get shot center mass with it. Great video. I have a KLR 650 for my first bike. Might be a bit tall, but I'm getting used to it.
Hornady makes some great rounds, with nice ballistics as well. I wouldn't want to get shot center mass with anything, not even .22, lol. Ride safe out there!
My husband recently bought a 2014 Superlow 883 for my first bike and as a petite lady who’s also a beginner I’m in love
first time bike buyer here and i believe I will be choosing this bike over a sportier one. first choice gsxr, but after seeig this beauty and doing more research, this buke is badass. great vid
Had a GPZ 900R as a first bike - worked just fine since I was terrified of the amount of horsepower.
Eventually I grew into it and suddenly 115hp was not enough.
A tip - TRY different bikes before you buy one.
And most importantly - drive with your HEAD - not your hand.
i bought my fz6 and i was completely scared of the bike i remember the test drive i could barely take it in a circle. real comfortable on it now.
Definitely get more comfortable as you learn the feel of the bike. Glad you're doing well now, ride safe!
Great video. Love the iron 883 probably gonna get that or a Honda XR650L.
This is the bike I want when I start riding in 2-3 years.
I like the flipped mirrors. We did my sons the other day...he likes it.
im kinda torn between getting a new/bigger bike to, but I like that I can upgrade to 1200 or 1250 and keep 883 insurance rates :) If I do upgrade though, it will be a Street bob or a Fat bob. I think the Street bob looks like the Irons big brother :)
I'm absolutely gonna do exactly what you have been talking about owning a Harley has been a dream I'll be a beginner and the sportster 883 iron is what I'm gonna get and take the rider course I'm really excited about getting the opportunity to ride
I believe you are on point with the "good starter bike" . research your options. for sure take a riding course, and the bike shouldn't be intimidating to the rider. and I'm with you on the "48" I love the looks of that bike.
Man courses are so expensive
Love the sound❤️❤️
New to the channel, love the content. I’m 42 5’10” 165lbs and I have never been on a motorcycle. Most of family has been on bikes but I just didn’t invest the time to want one or learn to ride. With that being said, the “bike bug” has bit me and I have been doing my research and I will also be taking a class at my local college. I know that I want a Harley and I really like the 883 bit the bike that I keep looking at is the breakout. Wanted your thoughts on whether the breakout would be easy to learn? Or should I stick with the 883? New subscriber!
It's been about 2 years, I'm sorry you didn't get an answer. Anyway if you went through with this how did it go and what did you choose? I'm in the same situation
Hay blockhead, love your vids. I’m on my way to passing my bike licence and I want a Iron 883. Like you I love the look and style. How would you say it rides.
Don't worry about answering now Mr B.. I got my Iron 883 4 days ago and it's amazing. So easy to ride. Bring on the sunshine 😎.
I just bought an iron 883 last week and I love it the best thing to ever happen after my daughter keeping it forever
The Iron 883 has been greatly improved in the 2016-2017 modes both in looks and performance. I ride a 2017 Iron 883 and I always get compliments and it definitely gets a lot of attention mostly from men ( for those that say that "it's a girl's bike"). For someone that has some experience with smaller bikes its the perfect bike to get started on the bigger ones. It has a lot of torque which some sport-bikes lack.
George Michael
You ever drive long distance?
shexdensmore The longest ride was 150 miles up to now. I use it for daily commute which is a few miles.
i own a pretty custom 2012 iron 883 , did a round trip of over 600 miles and had no issues needed to stretch a bit here and there but other than that it was fun!
So it’s not a girl bike? I want one ☝️
Hi Man, Great conversation going on with yourself haha..
What have you changed on the bike? I recon exhaust is not the stock one. What are the new pipes and any other changes?
Great video!
I hear a lot of people who say that it is a bike for beginner, but experienced riders (those who ride dirt bikes at first). I took the MSF course last year, passed it but I had trouble with the figure-8 turns; other than that I did pretty good and started feeling comfortable. Although I can't afford a bike right now, when I do I'll likely take the course again as a refresher. I asked the instructor about getting an 883 as a first bike and he suggested starting with a smaller/cheaper used bike. The problem is if I buy a bike, it will likely be from a dealer and I"ll finance so buying a used small bike for cash isn't really possible. I'm only about 5'6" 175lbs and keep wondering if I should get this 883 iron as a very first bike.
I love your bike and I'm getting a Ryker! Nothing compares to that sound.
This bike is dope AF
Thanks Enzorokz!
You should see it now
I started on a 883 earlier this year. Taught myself to ride it because I couldn't wait for my MSF course. (Wouldn't recommend doing that)
So definitely a good beginner bike. After 6,500 miles, I wouldn't mind a little more power. But there's always the 1200 conversion if ya want it.
Ian1911 I know that feel.
What bike do you have now? :)
@@Kamal_AL-Hinai Still rocking the 883!
I am planning on selling it by the end of this year though and getting a Pan America in spring.
@@IanRI1911
Happy for your safety after all these years and events. And best of luck my friend
my first bike wasn't a Harley . It was a 1970 triumph Bonneville chopper. 5 foot rake and rabbit ear handle bars
Just subscribed love the vids
I started on a 250, rode for a year, got a 500 had that for 5 and now with an 883 Superlow. People always ask and I have firmly held start small but people will get what they want, so, I have had to change what I suggest. 1: Used. Drops will cost less $. 2: Insurance, even if you don't need like here in FL. 3: Gear. I've been riding 7 years now and I still make mistakes, yes, they're not as drastic but I cringe to think what would happen with a new rider. I agree with most points except the 883 suggestion. These bikes are quick, can be heavy and are $$$ . I think it's enough solo and have gone a 5 day trip with it, so I would still caution(not deter) new riders. To clarify I see it this way: a light and small CC bike will allow for tremendous growth in terms of skillset and faster. Are there worse bikes? Certainly though I would certainly caution an 883 buyer. Regarding your point about figuring out what you like, I'll be looking at a Springfield or maybe a Road King in a couple of years for two up touring; I always thought I would end up with a GSXR or Street Triple. I hate chains and my knee doesn't bend as well due to an accident in my 2nd year of riding. Also, should have written no swearing on a popsicle stick :) (FREE!) Okay after, pausing at 14 minutes to comment and then watching it to the end negated my cautionary suggestion. Blackhead.
Bit of a fan bro just bought my brand new 2016 883 last night haven’t rode in 2 years so I’m nervous but way excited 😆
No way man, I started out on a 883 back in 2014, loved the bike just enough power to be comfy with. Plus with all the shit U can do to make it look better is a plus. Just had to upgrade about a year later
not a hater for you not wearing a jacket all the time, but glad you were wearing a jacket today ;D Stay safe
On the other hand I would also say don't let people tell you what you need. When buying my first motorcycle I wanted a larger sized sport bike but everyone was saying it's my first bike so I should just go with a 250. I got a ninja 250 and after 3 months I traded it in and got a gsxr 600 which is what I originally wanted. Now, I'm the proud owner of a nightster and I'm loving it but I wish I had just listened to my gut because I knew I could handle the bigger engine. (Also had experience on dirt bikes before getting a street bike so other people may not be as comfortable as I was.)
True that! Comes back around to doing what you're most comfortable with. Only you know if you're out of your comfort zone, definitely need to trust your gut :)
For real first time I went 80 I was like "oh my goodness that's a lot of wind." Now I'm doing 70 on the regular sitting up straight not giving a fuck
Right!? You get acclimated to it for sure, in the tuck! haha
I can watch the intro over and over again!
Thinking about finally getting my motorcycle license this spring. Looking at an Iron 883 with the cafe racer options for my first bike.
I own a 883 iron and I love it it's enough power for me by do wey
Good video congratulations help me a lot
Ohhhh yeaaa. 5'10 here. Was looking at it and the price convinced me. Even better that it fits my height
I test drove a Street 500 last summer when I was about to buy my first bike. I couldn't stand it. It was a bitch to steer. It was the handle bars, low profile, all hunched over trying to steer. Then I test drove the Iron 883 with mini apes. Fit me like a glove! So much easier to ride and control! I loved that bike, but I outgrew it and wanted something bigger. I recently traded it in for a new Street Bob. I love it too!
nice ride!!and any cal. one shot one kill
Could not figure out where in otown you are but consider your vid part of my own research. I'm getting ready for my first purchase after the class and have been leaning toward the 883 as well. Thanks for the opinion and maybe see ya on the roads here in otown one day. Lmao at the classic weekend comment.
+David Hardy Usually between Altamonte / Millenia / Windermere areas! Nice on the class, have fun and good luck deciding on what bike to get! Yeah classic weekend.... ugh. You know if you're local, lol
Yo Blockhead! you should do a helmet cam and mic setup vid.. That would be interesting!!
Hi, great video, very informative. I've seen a 2017 Iron 883 and I really liked it however I read online that these bikes usually leak oil from the air cleaner. What's your opinion on that? I wouldn't like my bike (and my legs) to get splattered with oil every time I go for a ride. Your advice would be really welcome. Thanks in advance and great channel too by the way. I've just subscribed 😁
Hi BLOCKHEAD, thanks for all the great info .... at around the 13:00 mark you are riding at night, but Gopro's never really ever show night lighting properly. How is the 883's lighting at night as viewed from the riders seat.
Currently looking at the 883 as a "first bike" since about 20 odd years ago when I last had a bike.
In general, when is it a good bike? If, you don't do long trips like every week. And then again, you can do long trips with it. If you love cruising. And i do recommend cruiser controls. And no, its not only for starters. It runs great. In the city, highways. Cobbleston roads are a pain in the ass. Like really!! But!! Once you have one and sell it. You are going to miss it. A little downfall, parts in Europe are so expensive. Keep that in mind.
You are right, I think the 883 is a good starter bike, but after going to the local HD dealership here in Manila and sitting on an iron, a 48 and a softail slim, now I prefer the "lower-sitting" bikes like the forty eight or the softail slim... being that i'm 5'5 and 270 lbs, who wears baggy pants and loose-cut slacks on a daily basis (since they are the only kind of pants that can fit me in my country lol)
How do you sit on the iron 883 at that height just curious I am a little taller and wanted to know if it felt comfortable for you
@@plazmamasta193 i tried sitting on an Iron 883, and I cannot flat foot it, but not totally tip toe; again its probably my short inseam, made worse by my baggy pants. If you're 5'7 and above, its no issue, IMO.
@@RDX-Ten-Eight-Seven ok sweet thanks. So your like on the balls of your foot or mid foot
@@plazmamasta193 yeap pretty much mid foot
I'm a big fan of the 9mm as well. Cheap to shoot and not too big, not too small. Have my on the Glock 19.
I really loved my 1911! I had the Kimber Eclipse stainless steel. It was the handgun of the year back in 2002 I think when I bought it. Damn it was nice to shoot. Expensive to shoot though.
I know the "take down power" argument. Well if that's what a man wants I would go with the .357 Magnum any day!
Great bike by the way! Greetings from San Diego CA!
Fan of many calibers, same here! Glad you like the bike, greets from Orlando!
hey!!! 45 is a great round lol but 9mm is damn fine on its own
883 and V Rod coolest Harleys
Thanks for such a great video also thank you for the firearm analogy I work at a gun store and I don't ride bikes so you're speaking lingo I understand LOL 👍
PS I'm also thinking of getting an iron 883
Nice Video bro
Thank ya!
Dude, you have really inspired me to pick up the Iron 883 as my second bike. I have a deposit on a Rebel 500 ABS but they are sold out for months and the NY season is burning away. Im "this" close to pulling the trigger on a Iron 883 and they only thing putting me off is the weight(150 pounds heavier then the rebel 500) and slow speed cornering learning curve. Im 5'10" and 175lb, do you think this is a valid concern for me? First bike was a ninja 250.
Yup, I agree. I'm 5'4" , 165 lbs. I'm looking into getting a bike, I sat on the street 500, it was comfortable. I sat on a couple iron 883, like them because I can flat foot on them. Also the Heritage soft tail, very nice, heavier bike, more money of course. But first I need to take the rider's course then I'll see. But I'm gonna need to get a 2up some my wife can ride also because she's the one that told me I can get a motorcycle if , get this , if i keep my beard....yup i need to keep my beard so i can get a Harley. Married almost 23 yrs. I can handle that. But anyways, great advice in the video, the bike is cool, and i enjoy watching you videos Blockhead. Thanks for what you do, later.
Ivan Mercado do you think 6ft is too tall for an 883
Great video ...
Thank you!
that's what you gotta love about FL the non stop contraction
you fucking rock dude, looking forward to getting myself this bike in a couple months! BTW subbed
Thanks for the kind words and support!
Very curious your opinion!
First of all amazing video and really love that bike and model ! But I'm curious is this the best beginner Harley ? Or maybe there are other similar beginner models or different brand you recommend? I'm beginner 180 cm around 200-220 pounds? Regards
Question: I noticed in the ride home portion, the headlight of the 883 didn't seem to give great coverage, was that just your camera at night or is the headlight kinda not as great as it should be for night riding?
I ask because a friend of my wife and mine just recently passed her MSF course and bought fell in love with and bought a used 883 so she could ride with us - I hadn't seen the bike myself so I was just wondering how it's going to be for night travels...
great bike!
Is the HD motorcycle course an actual approved MSF course and go toward the skills test at DMV? I love your taste. I've been checking out the 883 "Superlow" as well. Also the street 500. I like the look of the 883 better. You are a perfect gauge for me. We are pretty close height and weight. BTW, we shot 9mm in the service.
The last Harley dealership I went to, the 80 y.o. salesman told me to buy the 883, the scout 60 at the Indian place across the street, or the street ROD. He told me not to buy the street. At least not without some money in savings to modify the bike right off the lot.
I was told once and many that folks that uses foul language lack vocabulary. love your vids
Nice video!
Do you have a video on the MSF course, how you liked it how it went how to pass etc
Very nice.
I have some bad lower back pain and really interested into getting a bike. I’m favoring the 883 or Indian chief. Which would you lean towards if you were to start fresh?
I'm still only 12 but I can't wait till I can get a harley!!!
Good luck kid I was in your shoes once I’m buying my first Harley tomorrow my first bike was a Ducati monster big mistake Harley’s are where it’s at but remember ATGAT and take the msf course no matter how long you’ve been riding dirt bikes
Save all your money!!!! Like all of it. You won't regret it! Then when you're old enough you'll be able to buy one no problem.
off the bike subject (sorry), I just bought the Canik TPSv2.. been shooting it for a few weeks. Starting to love it. Still love my Glock 19 (Gen 3),but this is not a bad pistol for $350. Heard u talking on the vlog about u being a instructor. wanted to know if u had any thought about the Canik v2?
Thanks for the video Blockhead. I am searching for a bike, trying to read and listen to all I can to decide what to get. It will be my first bike and I want something I can ride on the interstate as well as in town. But because of my age and physical condition I want a smaller bike, one that I can handle and one that I can pick up if I drop it. I am stuck between the Iron 883 and the Honda shadow 750. The shadow is shaft drive where the 883 is chain. That is the big difference to me. I was leaning toward the shadow but now I may go with the 883. I bounce back and forth. But I am about the same size as you. six foot and 210 pounds but I'm 64 and I have had 2 back surgeries, so I have to take a lot into consideration. Thanks again for the video and have a good ride.
The 883 is actually belt driven, not chain, but you can convert to chain if you'd like. Best piece of advice, go and look at both and sit on both before making a decision. Best of luck, ride safe! :)
I have no idea about motorcycles but I want one and I really love how Sportsters look like, ( I did MSF course and my license 2 years ago) how far can you go in Sportster on 1 tank? can you make like 150 miles before you need to stop for gas? or much less because that tank looks really small. And another question are they comfortable with that narrow stock seat? ( I'm 5'8")
soon i'll buy motorcycle, sportser 883 is one of my list but my height 5'2 ft im not sure if i can handle this. what do you think bud?.
never ride on this kind, but i tried yamaha R1 but not in comfort zone( too short). For 6++cc its not a problem.
I served as US Border Patrol Academy firearms instructor for 9 years and then, after retirement, served another 6 years again at the USBP Academy as line officer in firearms training. The best handgun one can carry / use is one that they can shoot well both with sighted shooting and point shooting. Recoil can be a determining factor in this decision, especially when shooting using sights. For close range defensive shooting where sights will most probably not be used then the choice becomes more of recoil recovery and tolerance of recoil. Ballistically with the newly developed defensive handgun ammunition, such as Underwood’s Extreme Defender, one need not be concerned so much with the caliber has been the case in the past. The 9mm which exhibits mild recoil has been proven very effective with this design projectile. (And no, I am not associated with Underwood. ;)
