- What to look for when buying antique upholstery (Newark Antiques Fair)
I bumped into Heather Jones, an upholsterer from Sheffield whilst visiting Newark Antiques Fair…we had a chat and she’ll explain what she looks for when buying antique upholstery and what she’ll do with the item once she gets it back to her workshop
Heather is a regular visitor and buyer at Newark Antiques Fair

If you have any antique story, a collection to feature, or something interesting to sell, let me know and we might be able to make a film about it!

What a gent David is.
Fascinating video, as always. It’s great watching people who have a passion for their craft, they convey the knowledge so easily.
Another interesting topic, thanks David. Mahalo.
Nice one Mr Harper Sir
Wonderful lady, great interview and very interesting. Top video, thanks David!
Glad you enjoyed it
imperial yellow would look great
Very informative, looked at her website! Loved it, nice work!
Great video David. Tips from a pro and advice on how to guess the age of a piece. Love it
Great job covered everything 😂
Nice video David and again some good tips from an expert on restoration Heather knows her stuff, is it just me but does she look like Kate Bush🤔
Traditional upholstery....yes, more expensive but worth the investment.
Heather, we like you! That stool needs help. Can't say I ever had the patience for the tacks, but the pieces I "did" weren't horribly old or remotely valuable. I've seen a few Victorian chairs reupholstered in African fabric. Looked fabulous but wouldn't work in most homes.
