Thank you, thank you, thank you! I did all the things you said not to but the tape still helped. I was going batty. Felt like I had hugged a glass cactus.

Thank for posting this. I got fibreglass by folding back a used fire blanket which was 100% fiberglass on a Saturday night. I couldn't see the tiny pieces even using the magnifying lens from my cellphone. I googled the problem and your video was the first result and had the exact perfect solution.

good Tip...Hi i do attic insulation...best way is to take a cold shower...hot water opens up your pores and gets the fibres in your skin thats what you don't want!

I would like to take the time to praise two things: Bless this video and bless the almighty duct tape. My forearms were absolutely red with misery thanks to roofing insulation. This was a relief, thank you.

My issue is touching oars (like for rowing) because they are made of fiberglass. There is no real way to prevent it so I this video was very helpful. Thank you

Thanks. I was helping a friend fixing some lightbulbs on his 2005 Toyota Corolla and aparently the fabric covering the light bulb connection were made of some sort of glass fiber material and had it everywhere on my hand. The tape method helped removing most if not all of it from my hands :)

I'll give this a go the next time I have the issue, but for now I'm gonna use the power and wear gloves, I help my friend install CCTV cameras so I'm in the loft a lot and pulling cables catches fiber glass splinters into my hand, then riding a motorbike...yeah you can imagine lol

What about a dust mask, breathing in tiny glass fibers cant be good for your lungs.

Yea sometimes but fibre glass particles don't usually get airborne (as he mentioned.) And even if they do they probably won't travel too far so I don't think it's necessary

I was grinding the gasket off a boiler unit. It's a rope with fiberglass in it, I was not wearing a dust mask and my lungs and throat have been burning all day. I probably won't die and thats the worst part.

Just wear long sleeves or a disposable full body hymark suit for example. I work in insulation removal and install and the best thing is just rinse with water without rubbing until you get the chance to shower then have a shower to get it off.

@@jayylad38 have you been able to figure out how to get it out of textiles? We had fiberglass exposure from our mattress cover as well and are planning how we will clean the room and hopefully salvage some of the clothes and a rocking chair I love. Right now we are looking for the appropriate shop vac with HEPA filter to vaccum as much as possible.

When I was a little kid, I played in the attic of an abandoned house which was full of the pink fiberglass insulation. I played all up in that insulation. Afterwords, I was totally itchy and tried swimming around in my kiddie pool later that day to get the itching to go away, and it hardly helped. I guess it went away after a time, I can't remember. But I'm 34 now, and look back at that and wonder if I got tiny pieces of glass still embedded in my body today. lol. that sucks. I lived though... unless the cancer will get me later.

an old school way is to 1 use an old pair of Nylons that woman use to wear. 2 then grab a bar of soap in your hand.3 pull panty hose over hand. 4 shower while in one motion top to bottom wash your exposed skin on limbs. then rotate panty hose and use other side and proceed by pulling panty hose UpTo finger tips and tucking it in the back of hand and never do circular motions that just digs it in . hope it helps .
