Thanks for not telling anyone what size sockets you used. It really added a degree of excitement and mystery for me when I was trying to learn something.
100% do not try to pull the plug through and expect to get it back through. cut wires at the motor and rewire to new motor. saying from experience... still got it to work but had to run the wires out the bottom and not the top
I did this exact same thing, also did you notice that when you have the big 13mm mounting bolt out if you start the engine and have a/c on, blower motor won't work, the door locks won't work and the engine will stay on until you turn off the A/c 😂 weirdest thing haha
@@MoparMattt no shit. I'd love a 360 but the 318 is good with me..I average 14 miles a gallon so I can't imagine how the 360 is with price of gas right now.🤣 Man that dash was a pain in the ass to slide forward.
My blower is blowing with enough force behind it on max I'm going to change it so ur tutorial will help alot bc I don't want to rip dash out like I have to to do heater core
Yes exactly just has to move out a little bit to gain access to those last 3 screws I'd recommend using a bit driver with a magnet so ya don't lose the screws
Would you happen to know where the resistor is located on this design, I've seen other videos where it's under the passenger side, however on my truck I'm not seeing any set of wires that could be it
Top of the dash essentially in the middle underneath where you take the 5 bolts out. There's a couple center bolts I think that allow you to pull dash out rest of the way. I didn't need to replace it but I know where it is.
Definitely not the easiest job for sure and yes the wiring not great, not sure why they didn’t just put the plug inside the housing there. Guess that’s why they’re paid the big bucks haha
Thanks for this, thought I was going to pull a dash tomorrow!

Whoopsie sorry about that
Really? How rude.
13mm mounting bolts, 8mm top for all but the 2 9mm for the 2 regulator thingy
thank you so much for taking the time Matt! I will keep you posted once i receive the part
No problem dude hopefully it'll help anyone else too!!
@@MoparMattt im sure it will, not many videos up
this blower motor is so different from postings for a 1999-2000 dakota ? they show blower at 12-6 position bottom mount? tthanks Richard C

What does the little black hard plastic vacuum line attach to in the heater box
That goes through the fire wall for you dash vents
I’ll have to look I forgot I’ll get back to you
Ever figure out where it goes too?
If it was a 2001-04 the fan drops out the bottom after you take out 3 screws.
Just started this job. Thanks for the help Matt! Is the truck still holding up?
Not a problem and yes sir I actually just swapped a 360 in it

Oh yeah she’s about smiles per gallon now lol and yeah bud not an easy job but at least ya got it done that’s the main thing! Glad it helped ya out :)

I got the cover off, i see the blower motor! gotta get a universal joint for my socket and an extenion to reach in further thanks!
Great! That's awesome man glad ya got it done!!
I broke my cover. Cut my damn hand. Now I'm headed to the junkyard to find another cover. What a pain in the but.
I just broke mines too just enjoying to see the fan but I'ma just use some good ole duck tape to patch the hole 😂
Great video thanks!
No problem glad it helped!
ok so if i move the dash out a bit i have just enough room for those three bolts, i also got the control unit checked before it had power
Yes exactly just has to move out a little bit to gain access to those last 3 screws I'd recommend using a bit driver with a magnet so ya don't lose the screws
Did you have to remove the 2 bolts below the ash tray and cigarette lighter on the dash?
Naw buddy
I’ve ran into so many roadblocks wi th this
Got the new blower In and can’t get the cover back on the box worth a fuck been at it for 3 hours now
Bro. I'm going on 3 days now and it's been anywhere from 5-20 degrees outside. I'm just finishing it finally.
Would you happen to know where the resistor is located on this design, I've seen other videos where it's under the passenger side, however on my truck I'm not seeing any set of wires that could be it
My video about the blower resistor is here on my channel. Long story short it’s under the dash basically center of windshield.

Huge time saver
Glad it helped you out brother!
What year is this for
2000
Looks like a b of a job...and the wire harness too...poor designer.
Definitely not the easiest job for sure and yes the wiring not great, not sure why they didn’t just put the plug inside the housing there. Guess that’s why they’re paid the big bucks haha
That's why the new design is literally so so easy on the 2002 plus years haha
Wtf
The motors is held in by 3 bolts..you don't need to disassemble the dash at all
.Rookie
I think it is for certain models this one ain't so easy.
Great video thanks!
