I saw a lot of comments saying people still didn't understand. I made another attempt to explain it, with more focus on the fundamentals of how the mini game works. Hopefully that one helps: ua-cam.com/video/9H3Q9weIapk/v-deo.html
Even as someone who doesn't play the game I understood the original tutorial perfectly. In fact, yours was the first and best tutorial I've seen on the subject. It is quite clear that there are a lot of people with very short attention spans and the woeful inability to find patterns who are finding this mechanic beyond their purview of understanding. I think it's an AWESOME upgrade from fallout and TES and it looks far more rewarding.
I think it’s a good mini game. Actually has some level of difficulty to it. Nothing overly complicated. I like this better than the moths in Hogwarts legacy for example.
@@BVaccaro88Bullshit. It is overly complicated. If it's faster to savescum and randomly guess at the shit than for you to actually sit there and figure it out, they took it too far.
@xithbaby I don't mind using my brain for puzzles,in fact, portal 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, but there's a big difference between Digipicking and legit puzzles. My Biggest issue with it is how they punish you for making mistakes harshly if you made a mistake on an early tier like right at the beginning and are On the last one you have to waste more digipicks just to get the one piece back. Not to mention their bare bones explanation on how it works. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving starfield and I can tell it's gonna be my game of the year, and I'm already going to give it a high review score but digipicking is hands down the only criticism I have thus far due to the above mentioned reasons
Yeah, far too fucking tedious and difficult, sometimes I swear it doesn't even give you the right parts you need to actually complete it. Every safe should have a epic or legendary item for putting up with this bullshit
This became incredibly easy and honestly kinda interesting once I realized the ring doesn't change to the next one until you slot every opening it has, so you're really picking 2 groups for each ring.
It actually was, I get it now. Honestly I underestimated the complexity and thought just look whatever works. But you have to pre-fit it and look if you match everything. It's easy now, but dear god that makes it almost as time consuming as just savescrumming :/
It took me a while to understand on how unlocking works with Digipick, but once you get the hang of it, it is truly easy! To be safe you should make a save checkpoint just incase you messed it up.
Oh my God. Thank you so much, man. Been playing for two days now and I'm so dumb I thought the goal was to fit every pin into the slots. Was like, "yo this shit is luck based now? I can't fit all these pins" because the Novice ones you actually did use all the pins. Then it clicked and I realized you just need to close the two rings, NOT use every pin wheel when you have too many pinwheels
If you guys struggle with the master locks, I found it easier to find all the slots that fit and face them down. Anything that doesn't I face them to the right. That way I can cycle through the ones that work with each cycle.
I assume (because I don't have the game) that the overlap is because one of the digilocks already has a pin in that position, so you can't use a different one in the orientation because one of the pins will overlap.
Thank you for this! I did not take the time to read what the blue color meant in the skill, so I was making tons of mistakes. Now I understand the blue color, and just unlocked an expert safe with no problem.
At last I got it. When you use one digipick, it closes the holes where you use it and then you have to close the holes that you haven´t close already, and then is when you can go to the next digipick! At last!!!! No one explains this, I got it by myself, but this video help me get it better.
What the actual duck! I've been playing puzzle games for over 2 decades and never have I been this stumped. Came here for a little clarity, but no. Leaving more confused lol. Not your fault.
My take is if the rewards for lockpicking were better I could understand the complexity, but considering it's the usual 'loot but maybe a bit more than usual, sometimes' it's not exactly great especially when it's lockpicking something you're gonna be doing a lot if Bethesda keeps true to how it was in skyrim/fallout with locked boxes being fairly common.
yea but the only thing is that lockpicking in the past 3 bethesda titles has been exactly the same and they were going to be intergalactically roasted if it werent an entirely different mini game so now its this
Ok this makes a lot more sense I thought you had to go through them all in order and was like, how the fuck do I do this if they don’t line up in this order
Seems like a lot of people in the comments hate it for being time consuming or they’re just outright lazy in the sense. I’ll circle back around when I get to more advanced locks but thanks for making this clearer. I guess my “complaint” would be the game didn’t explain it very well.
I agree. Digipick system is frustrating! I am on the quest at Neon Core trying to open the door of the Sellers crate. I've watch two UA-cam videos and neither coinside with the four digis on the door. I am using xbox, can anyone direct me to the correct vide so I can open this stupid door?
@@OldMayt what do you mean you need to fill all the slots? This is the second vid im watching but i dont feel closer to the solution to these minigames.
I hate this game already and I just started playing it. Why these developers decide to make puzzles like this is just baffling. It you have to go to youtube to even figure out how to do a puzzle, let alone solve it, then that puzzle is poorly made. Also, dude, no offense, but why are you going so fast and acting like we have any idea what you're talking about. You guys that put up these puzzle solvers need to slow down and actually explain things effectively. Ths video was useless.
