    Very nice quality layups. Looking forward to the rest of the build. Pro tip, use cellophane wrap after wetting glass over your putty corners to get fast smooth shape. it allows you to work the corner shape without pushing bubbles in or moving the glass. Peel when wet if you must or after kick for smooth finish.

    Be sure to wear air particulate protection when you cut or grind carbon fiber. The dust breaks down small enough to get in your blood stream where it shreds circulatory ways and capillaries. Can kill. Extreme pain

    Ive been watching 'lala r/c' building an F 35B using 3D printing tech with much interest. But now a Harrier! And an early model at that. (Looks like a Gr1/AV8A) I lived close to RNAS Yeovilton tne Fleet Air Arms last remaining aerodrome, and I used to love watching the Sea Harriers practicing stol take offs using the ramp.
    So an affinity for these old beasties was established. Amyway I just subscribed to make sure I see this beauty take to the air.
    Your workplace looks very professional and clean. But another thing which piqued my interest was the Sukhoi Berkut on the wall! Please say you have flown it, or are going to!
    Great show, and excellent camera work and editing.
    Thank you.

    nice work as always ,Rene is there release agent before the white paint on the mold ?

  • @ats-3693
    @ats-3693 2 роки тому +1

    So cool, so the white acrylic paint applied to the inside of the mold bonds to the fibre and releases from the mold? That's amazing, it's an inside out paint job! Do you use any type of releasing agent on the mold before applying the white acrylic?
    *Edit, I see your answer to the same question from someone else 👍

    Love ur project and the detail u have put into it. I’ve watched a lot of crazy builds of different planes and I’ve always wondered where the original scaled down plans or molds come from. I know the military isn’t giving out detailed plans of full size planes so how do rc guys produce these exact miniatures? I’m sure you’ve seen the turbine version of the sr71 about a decade ago.

    What diameter is the duct ID? Consider ultra thin large bore ring bearings for smooth nozzle movement for your VTOL version. Lilly Bearing from China has cheap large boar ring bearings. I got 316 Stainless Steel 50mm ID 62mm OD 40g for $15 vs $145 ea. from local suppliers. Ease of installation and smooth reliable movement under load might be worth the extra weight. They also come much bigger if you need. 316 stainless steel is lighter than carbon steel and you don't need high RPM so they will likely outlive several models.

    This is really impressive! I love the quality of the piece coming out of the mold. I have followed your work for some time and I am planning on working on a project very similar to this as a part of a college course this year. May I ask what preparations need to be made to apply the paint before lamination and have it come out so well? Does this require a special kind of paint?

    5 years ago a Russian diy team (with engineering skills) built their own RC from A to Z, including the turbine. ua-cam.com/video/dYFYZ-g7fzA/v-deo.html They did it in a natural way, with less means than yours but the output was incredibly baffling.
    Russians are good at sciences, all sciences! a brilliant human resources, highly educated! btw how do you feel now that your US "friends" (foes would be fairer) had sabotaged Nordstream2 for a while? Now those Russian youtubers get NO MONEY from youtube viewers from Russia! It's particularly unfair. Why hadn't any Germans demonstrated in support of those peaceful Russian makers/reviewers?
    IMHO that's not important because sooner or later, Germans will realize how WEAK, FEEBLE and OBEDIENT toward the US they behaved, against their own interests. Hope that'll serve them a lesson. Diy is not everything in life! LIFE IS WIDER THAN THAT!
