He's been around for over 20 yrs, he should have been huge. He's so much fun to watch live.
I was literally outside the much music studio during this pretty damn epic performance.
Love Eugene's voice.
Watching in late 2023 and am blown away by this performance. To be playing that way at 17 or any age for that matter is incredible. So gutted I didn’t see him play at Byron Bluesfest what an amazing talent Eric is truly one of the best🔥🎸
This album changed everything for me. I would have never had a successful career without this. Nobody can touch this guy. Not then, not now, not ever. It's never been close. And it still ain't today. ***disclaimer*** All my OG's know where I'm coming from. Everyone else? This is seriously Church for us players. Don't have to dig it, but this guy is beyond the Event Horizon in several genres.
He is definitely a notch above all the Strat warrior types for sure--lol...
I think him and Trucks are the leading lights of my generation. But Jeff Lee Johnson is another thing if you haven't checked him out. Also Philip Sayce is a bad dude.
But EG just has extraordinary fluidity and musicality.
I miss Much Music. Original Much Music. Used to watch music videos all day and just vibe to so much good music.
Eric Gales has to be the reincarnation of Hendrix.
Eric and Eugene are my friends in the Music Industry. The Eric Gales Band.East Coast Productions.
What is shocking me while I'm watching this is how pertinent the questions are that interviewer is asking him...
Very, very cool.
This is not Hendrix. This is Eric Gales.
Tone, execution and articulation !! got it going on !
*this is my favorite EGB song... wish it would have been out there more... it truly kicks ass*
I actually remember this appearance by the Gales bros. At some point, Eric played steel string acoustic and it was absolutely great.
The Eric Gales Band kicked assssss!!!
eric been great for a long time
He forgot to mention that Hubert "H-Bomb" Crawford used to win all the drum competitions that they had in Memphis back in the day!
So great they are going to reunite and perform in 2018! A chance to see them reunite on Jan 20, 2018 in Memphis
I got my VIP ticket for the New Daisy Theatre on Beale Street. ;) I met Eric last year on the Joe Bonamassa Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea cruise
I bet you have enjoyed that Blues Cruise with all them great guitar players. Wishing the best to Eric and his band and hopefully you will enjoy the show!
WHAT? eric, eugene and crawford?
I remember seeing this live way back, was blown away back then, still am. Plus I had a huge crush on Erica!!
Dynamite Cannot Wait To See You On The Road !
sounds amazing ~ !!! alltime what im lookin for ~ !!!
One of the best....period....
He talked about SRV. Stevie died over 30 years ago. This video was made in the late 80s.
awesome!
Wunderbar!
these dudes were/are SLAMMIN
YEA!
This guy is so cool.
DAMN RIGHT !!!!!!!!!!
Killer!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Does anybody know what is the Marshall edition?
Is that a Plexi?
Upside-down bass playing as well. The Gales family all played guitar this way.
At his best here.
wow, signed at 16.
Awesome!
I wonder if I could play better if I flipped my guitar around and played lefty....
Dm
Best part of EG career
Three lefty brothers (along Emmanuel/Little Jimmy King).
Gales has to be the reincarnation of Hendrix.
Btw doyle bramhall 11 plays the same way just flips his guitar over. Doesn't restring.
Come back to T Dot , or better yet come play Casino Niagara. BOOM!
What up they couldn't find a lefty drummer?
@Detman101 lol.. well maybe but what you WILL find is that you'll get a whole lot of new chord variations
Manuel was the man!
RIP, Manuel!
Wow, he is playing lefty but the guitar is still strung righty!!
So his scales are totally reversed from normal. Even Jimi didn't play that alternately!
Dm
year?
I think 1991
Playing upside down with the knobs in the way
Some lefties actually prefer it. Check out a guitarist called Gus Isidore, he plays for Seal now and again.
Well, Van Halen has Alex VH the drummer too...
But Robbin Trower, Santana, I guess there's more.
Martha Quinn sike!
that guy sounds like a modern hendrix
I'm friends with Eric on FaceBook and he's the most down to Earth Real Brotha in the World:!:@)!@_
Notice how "un-rehearsed" the presenter was.
"Never heard of a band named after the guitarist" - how about Van Halen, Vandenberg, or Santana off the top of my head. - What about a band named after the drummer? The Dave Clark Five. Or the rhythm section (bass & drums)? Fleetwood Mac. Five bands named after the non-singer, four of which are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, so they shouldn't be that obscure.
Jimi Hendrix Experience???????????????????????
HAHAAGGAGAAGAGAAGAGAA!! Yeah Really
Very SRV, Caught In The Crossfire ish...That kid was only like 18 playing with 30 year old sensibilities!
or Jimi Hendrix xperience?? she doesn't seem like the brightest one.
actually now that I review this - It's been like 20 years since I have seen Erica Ehm on TV and I now just find her annoying and idiotic. She says "ow" in an annoyed vibe after you play? what kind of host is this? Shes just plastic.
PLASTIC Girl!
This guy is so cool.
