Before I buy a P2, I want to know if it can cut out a small toothpick size shape with pointed ends from various colors of 1/16” or 1/8” thick acrylic without any burning, melting or distortion? Then the colored toothpick inlaid into a black or clear acrylic background of the same thickness?

Yes you can do this. Acrylic is best cut with this type of laser. Get your settings right and you will have perfect edges. You can also do very intricate cuts with the P2 as well as inlays. It takes practice to get the perfect settings and measurements for the inlays but once you get it, they look amazing!
