Overrated episode
I think it was Tofu (from Kimchi & Tofu) who raised a good point during her reaction; Pitou probably didn't know Kite by name, so she didn't know who Gon was talking about until she saw him again in Peijing. Then she connected the dots and even remembered Gon.

Pitou didn't tell Gon about Kite because she didn't know who Kite was. She didn't know the name of the man she killed. Some little child just burst in one day and said "HEAL KITE." She just went along because they caught her while she was healing Komugi for the King. When they got there she saw that "Oh, it was him. I can't bring him back, I'm sorry."

I dont know why Pitou treating her own injury being treated as "disrespectful as fuck" tripped me off so hard. It sounds super funny. And the boys obviously know now that Pitou didnt know Kite by name.
She said before that she felt his power and was afraid that he would go after the King and she can't let that happen. She knows she can't do anything now and that she will have to fight. She doesn't know gons hate is all aimed at her. Though given his current state I could see the fear of him going after the king as an I will take the person you cared about now....

Man, your complaining made me so annoyed I almost threw my phone. Wow, that was close. Other than that, it was enjoyable like always.
I think Gon's emotions was just overreacting. You can't blame Pitou, she was a royal guard so it was her duty to annihilate any threat against their king. They were a threat when they approached the nest. They were partly to blame why Kite died, Kite died because he was protecting them, and they were underestimating their enemies. Killua realized that, that was why Killua seem to not show any emotions towards Kite's death.

to be fair, pitou never said she could heal kite.. just that she would go with him
Pitou didn't even know who 'Kite' was XD
Gon asked her: "In one hour you're coming with me to heal Kite. Can you promise me that?"
Pitou: "I swear to keep that promise!"
Pitou never intended on keeping her promise the only thing she wanted to do was heal Komugi and kill Gon.
She straight up lied to Gon's face and said the surgery would take 3-4 hours but it only really needed one.
When she finished the surgery she tried to hide it from Gon but he figured out she was finished.
She was also going to kill Gon when the surgery finished but her instincts said to obey after seeing how sharp Gon's senses were.

@@aura7117 no she probably would have still healed him if it was possible the thing that makes this confrontation so powerful is that there was no stopping it she killed kite so when they get there theres no keeping promises beacuse she cant she was domed from the start
dont forget Pitou is still an Royal Ant. Her porpouse is helping the King. She did go with Gon. Now its her mission as an Ant to kill Gon before he becomes a danger. thats it
The development of Gon’s character through out this arc was just genius.

pitou was my favorite ant because she learned compassion for others. the mere fact that she apologized to gon shows that like pouf and youpi, she had grown from the soulless killing machine she was. and above all else, pitou was probably the only royal guard who cared about the king as a person and not a position. she healed and protected komugi because she knew how much he cared for her and that which he cared for became hers to care for as well. so long as the king was happy, pitou was fine with him and komugi being together.
so pitou isn't a monster. she was just a person.
