- Hello everyone! This week I sang Life Is A Highway from Cars!
Every time I cover a song like this, I feel my soul traveling further and further away from my body.
It also feels beyond fitting that this is my first cover after hitting 1 million subs (as in this was not planned, this cover has been scheduled for weeks). This is not the 1 mil celebration I promised but do not fret! A face reveal will be coming (most likely in 2021, after my break in January) and in the next few weeks, I will be covering my most requested song EVER. Can you guess what it is?
As I said on twitter earlier this week, I don't think I have the words to articulate how I feel. All I can humbly say is thank you.

Many, many years ago. Car's version of Life Is A Highway gave me the feeling of such a thrill. Hardcore adventure, just being the most confident kid you could ever be. Rocking out with those guitars riffs, it was such an amazing feeling. Not a care in the world, in such simpler times.
Now, coming back to listen to this version. Words can't explain the feelings i am getting. Life really has been stressful for all of us this year. We are all going through many struggles and problems. I am currently about to meet the end of my University years. Even if i am literally an adult, i still feel the shred of anxiousness within me of stepping out to the real world. The stress of preparing for my Graduation. As someone who struggled academically way back, Will i even be able reach that goal i always wanted to my whole life? How will i even survive beyond that?
But the very moment i heard those few notes of the guitar, i feel nothing but...Warmth. Here i am sitting at my computer, contemplating to myself. This cover seriously struck something within me in a new light. While it wasn't the carefree thrill i felt as a kid. It was more of a gentle and kind nudge. A reminder to just keep driving forward. That through the stress and struggles, reminding me to not veer off the road. I am feeling more at ease now.
To Anna, i am proud with how far you have come. What a fitting song for you to cover! And to whoever is passing by reading this. Whatever struggles or challenges you are going through now. It may not seem much, but all i can say is this. Keep going strong! You can do it. You got this!

This song is originally written and performed by Canadian Singer Tom Cochrane.
It has existed long before Cars, and Racal Flatts only made a cover of it.

At least somebody knows the real history behind the song. I'm sad that more people don't know it this isn't a Rascal Flatts song.
Its kind of like All-star by Smash mouth. It existed before Shrek, but now people know it as "the shrek song"
The Rascall Flatts cover is far superior though. The original doesn't have the harmonies or the extra instrumental work that makes it a banger, and no offense to Cochrane but his vocals are just not as nice to listen to as the Flatts
She should do radio, or something. Not just youtube. She has a talent that most of us would give an arm and a leg for. Sing on, Anna. Use that amazing voice.

I agree with all of this. If not radio, then maybe as a voice actor for some animated musical movie. She's already done a lot of songs from movies of that genre. Her and a lot of the other great cover artists on UA-cam. Seriously; a musical movie with them as the cast would be legendary.

This was one of my mom's favorite songs before she died. This cover made me cry but in a good way. It made me think of her, I try to avoid thinking about her because even a decade later it hurts. I think she would love this cover.

I'm just casually listening to a cover of a song from my childhood. And part of the way through I see the message and my heart skips a beat.
I've been dealing with depression harder than I ever had in my life, and those words over repeated lyrics hit so hard because of how unexpected they were. Thank you for all you do. Congrats on 1 mil and I hope you continue going strong.
Usually, I wouldn't watch something like this because my 5 year old brother has watched (sometimes multiple a day) cars movies his whole life and it gets kidn of annoying, but because you're covering it Anna of of course I'm gonna listen!

For some reason, I found that Anna captured my soul all over again in creating a childhood favorite song, movie, and overall franchise I still treasure today and it ends up with Kermit dancing on McQueen!
