Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic!! (ALL BEACHES)

- 2022 Complete overview of Puerto Plata and all beaches in town. This is a very incredible place in the north part of the Dominican Republic. You'll see all beaches from Centro Historico to Playa Dorada. In the coming videos I will be exploring Sosua, Cabarete, Samana, Las Terrenas and more. Previously I had been in Punta Cana, Santo Domingo and Catalina Island.
Christopher Columbus came to this part of the world in 1492 to discover Dominican republic that he then called Hispaniola. The Taino people were the indigenous people, but the Europeans enslaved them and also killed them. The indigenous people also died from diseases that the Europeans had brought. The Spanish started building up towns and centro historico is an example of early buildings found here. I will also film the town of Sosua and Cabarete soon.

Many comments saying Christopher Columbus was Italian. He was born in Italy but spent the majority of his life in Spain, and all crew members on his ship were Spanish, so that's why I think he established a Spanish colony and not Italian.
Besides Italy didn’t exist at that time. Spanish kingdom was the main sponsor of his endeavor, in which many of the people didn’t believe he could ever succeed
I'm no expert. But I think it was because the Spanish monarchy paid for his travels. They were promised land, goods and gold in return.

@@Paterson340 en realidad no fue el personalmente quien impuso la esclavitud, fueron los Reyes Católicos de España
He tried a different kingdom first to finance his voyage. Portugal maybe? But it was Spain that agreed, that's who he planted the flag for.
We love your videos so much we booked a trip there. I liked the video ocean views today, spectacular. I also liked how you shared your platform to share the message for the man who collects the trash to preserve the beaches. OMG the coconut 🌴 🥥 climb. Great job William!
FYI, If you take a hair curling iron with you, the airport will confiscate it from you at the airport on your return flight

Oh glad to hear that thank you!
Greetings from a Dominican boy in New Jersey I want to invite you to my town in Dominican Republic you see I've been waiting for the arrival of many many people who are arriving there or who could be there already

2:19 I want to thank Yohan and his team for keeping those beautiful beaches clean. Such a shame that so many people are irresponsible and throw litter everywhere.
Puerto Plata is so beautiful, been there twice. Definitely going back someday!
That's great news about "Oceano Limpio." The D.R. is a beautiful place and I'm glad they're taking care of it along with the beaches and oceanfront.
Thank You William for spending the time to make a good solid video! Really appreciated the interviews and content of this production.
Much appreciated! thank you!
Loved your video, Im dominican and I live in puerto plata, minimum wage here is around 10 to 12 K pesos (180 to 210 USD), the place you ate is one of many places that are specificaly made to cater to tourist and there for are expensive, specialy europeans since euro coin has a bigger exchange rate than any other curensy, but yeah american and canadians too. for example you paid almost 13 usd for a burger and fries, but in any other place that locals visit they are around 150 pesos (around 2.5 UDS), also if you are looking for specific business policemen are trained to help tourist find anything you may need, we have a specific section of the police for tourist or any non dominican visitors called POLITOUR, they are very polite and well trained and the goberment usually send 1 or 2 to many corners in the streets to check you are secured, give directions and deal with any disturbs that may come, the goberment is very focused in making puerto plata a good experience for any visitors and puerto pata people we are usualy very welcoming.
Fantastic video William. Thanks for the history lesson!!!

I'm loving the whole vibe of the video. Especially the music. Usually, other UA-camrs would play Hispanic music like salsa. The instrumentals played so well with the drone shots. Great video.

Hi Willliam , nice video. I stayed at that hotel you show in the peninsula of playa dorada. Please do not miss the lift that can take you all the way up to the mountain. The view of Puerto Plata and playa dorada is amazing.
Oh I did not know there was a lift!
@@williamtaudien yes, it is called el Teleferico and the view from up there is just magnificent.
Amazing video William! You are a professional digital nomad!

Ha ha, the way you shimmied up that coconut tree! 🥥🌴🤣 And while holding your camera too? Well done!! Interesting comments about Christopher Columbus and beautiful scenery as usual.
Hi William Your Drone filming / flying skill are incredible !!
That was cool climbing that Coconut Tree too.
You made that look so ez
🌴😂😂
Thanks 👍 :D
@@williamtaudien Real cool how you can fly your drone real steady over the windy ocean 👍🏻😀
Hey William, nice to see that you decided to explore Puerto Plata for a little bit longer. I'm heading there tomorrow on a field day to the beach with family. You seem more relaxed and that's a good thing.
I'm so glad you ventured over to Puerto Plata. I met some amazingly kind locals there when I visited 20 years ago. The kite surfers are wild there..safe travels my dear
thank you!
Dear William! Thanks for this amazing video! You are an amazing sojourner and wayfarer! From New York City, warmest greetings to my friends!
Nicely done! 👍
incredible video William
Very nice video William 👍👍👍
Looks beautiful, well done William! Don't lose your grip climbing those trees tho!
I wont :P
Puerto Plata always shines bright! ❤ Welcome!
Nice video. Very informative
That was a terrific video William I really enjoyed it the Dominican Republic looks absolutely pristine
Thanks for that!
Excellent info
Hermosas vistas! Gracias por visitarnos a RD.
That all looked quite a bit nicer than the previous videos ( other than Punta Cana which was gorgeous ) Seems like there'd be more restaurants and food stores though.. looking forward to more.. PLEASE BE SAFE !!! PS GREAT drone shots as ususl... the BEST on UA-cam !!!
thank you :)
There are small restaurants ALL OVER the Puerto Plata downtown area, but not a lot in the part he was staying. Within a 10 minute walk there are dozens.
Also, there are several supermarkets in POP, including the very large La Sirena (like a WalMart) which he showed in the background of his video while he was walking down the Malecon. That one is a 5-10 minute walk from his hotel.
For a quick bite to eat, there are little Colmados ALL OVER THE PLACE there that have convience foods. A colmado is like a tiny convenience store. I think William just picked a couple of the wrong streets to walk in his search for food.
Lovd Your coconut tree climbing! 👍👍👍
Wow man, cracy the part of the coconut. You are an amazing traveler UA-camr.
Great video William, Santiago de los Caballeros Next???
Another great/informative video !! I’ve traveled to Mexico a lot and have been eyeing DR as my next vacation. You have me convinced this is the perfect spot. Also……. If your pondering more adventures in the Caribbean- go to Aruba, you won’t be disappointed !!!
Brother there's plenty of restaurants around there and grocery stores minutes away from where you at use your map on your phone lol. I'm actually from San Felipe Puerto Plata. It's just that you're in the colonial zone which is considered tourist areas of course the prices will by high. Puerto Plata is actually cheap outside the tourist areas way cheaper than Santo Domingo or punta cana
Wow!! Good morning my dear!!!! I wish I was there with you...cool here!
Better there!!
Good morning!
Great video! This next for me just got back from Punta Cana
sounds good! Much less people in Puerto Plata!
Nice vídeos, hoy when to so many diferents places great and thanks you, my country its beautiful 😊❤
Thank you! 😃
A man of many talents - climbing a coconut palm - oh my word. That looked so very scary. Really nice video informative. Had to watch it again as the scenery was so fantastic. Keep it up William your videos are the best. Take care.
Thanks for that! I appreciate it
Another great video! Although it’s the Atlantic on that side of the Dominican 😉 Nice to see u back out this way
You really are a good guy. I love your videos. ❤🇩🇴🇩🇴😍👍
Thank you so much 😀
Hello! Puerto Plata is great! Be sure to take the cable car up the mountain! Really beautiful there.
Never been to Puerto Plata or Cabarete, I think you've inspired me to check out the North side of the island. I've always visited Punta Cana to Santo Domingo along the Southern coast, Catalina island, etc.
Another great video! I really like Puerto Plata! I would recommend taking the cable car up the mountain for a great view of the city. They also have Ocean World where you can swim with dolphins.
William great video, you must go to see Las Terrenas, Bahía de las Aguilas y Jarabacoa, you do not have to miss it!
I will go to Las Terrenas :)
Excellent well done!
Many thanks!
Excellent video ..stay safe my Viking friend!
Thanks, you too!
This was a very low key, calm video. Very nice. This is really you in your element. One of the reasons this works so well is we generally trust calm people. So many UA-camrs are putting some shocked expression in their thumbnail and it looks so fake when you see it done so often. Basically its crass. This video was calm and classy. Everything you said seemed 100% believable. So rare these days. Thank you for standing out from the crowd. Its was great that you looked at the prices and the minimum wage. This gives the viewer a stark reminder of how hard it must be to live in some of these places for the locals serving foreigners. Talking to poor workers about how they get the things they need is often a great way of saving money in these countries. Like buying your food in an air conditioned place can cost twice as much as a place without air conditioning, like a large, open air market.
you are nuts sir in that tree lol beautiful place again. you are so lucky
I visited DR many times including once in Puerto Plata. I enjoyed the resort where we stayed. I have a preference for Punta Cana however. Thanks for showing the people cleaning the beaches, this makes a difference in the place we choose to visit. I will re5urn to Puerto Plata. Very informative video
Your videos are really good. You should have more subscribers.
Thanks for that! I appreciate it!
Hello, I see that you are very adventurous. Although climbing a coconut tree is somewhat risky, especially being alone. I grew up in the Dominican Republic. I used to climb almost all the fruit trees except the coconut palms. In the Dominican Republic, many people cannot afford to eat out. On the shores of the street there are many cheap fruit stalls, just ask about the price ( CUANTO CUESTA )beforehand and if you avoid paying tourist prices
How the hell you climbed this palm tree dude 😅 Amazing and you recorded on the top! Legend 🔥
Welcome to the Dominican Republic. Enjoy it. Thanks for visiting us.
Excelent video
I didn’t get a notification for this one William…? Better late than never. …❤️👍🏼
I wonder why. I noticed that it wasn't sent out to as many people as usual.
@@williamtaudien I think if you specify a day the next one drops? I know you don’t usually work that way, but it may help you solidify your following and get your sub count up to the 100 thousand …
I’m also from Ottawa, Ontario Canada and the flights and all inclusive packages from Ottawa to DR and Cuba are dirt cheap!. Btw I was at the edge of my seat watching you climb that tree while filming😮😮
Great video ... we live here in the Puerto Plata area and love your honesty and insights....you need to get this to the DR Tourist Board....will keep our eyes open for you over the next few days ... Sosua and Cabarete next!
Thanks, sosua next video :)
Let us know when you are in town....
Thanks for another great video! Sometimes the local restaurants offer local residents a discounted price not posted on the menu. Tourists pay the posted price on the menu. That can help with some of the cost of living for locals.
Great video, fun and informative...! Please be careful and even if for an athletic guy like you climbing a palm tree is "easy" do not take the risk of doing it when you are alone in the middle of nowhere...
Who does your music? It matches the scenery so beautifully!
William super content 😘
oh thanks!
Good stuff, I was wondering, aside from playa dorada, which other beaches you visited would complete your top 3? Do you know or heard if there are any other nice beaches on the west side of the town?
