no matter where you surf......respect the locals, and don't drop in. you are going at the peak of surf season there and the locals will already be agitated with the crowds. have fun.
Andrew, if you have room for one more Landlocked, surfer/bodyboarder on your Hawaii trip, I would love to join you guys, and share some of your costs (accommodation, rental car etc.). I'm currently living in Regina, SK.
I've posted this question on another video of yours but just to make sure: Hi Andrew, do you have any experience with adding any catalyst to the mix to speed up the curing process? If you do, would you mind telling us what is your product of choice and the measurements?

Hi, sorry I don't check my comments that often. But I will be going through my videos and grabbing the questions for the Q&A. But to answer your question, you can't add more catalyst (technically it's hardener for epoxy) to speed up the curing for epoxy. But I know you can get an epoxy additive that will speed up the hardening, also the hotter the temperature the faster epoxy will harden.
However if you are making a polyester surfboard you can add more catalyst to speed up the hardening but I have limited experience working with that stuff. I like using Resin Research epoxy as it has been the most consistent and clear.
Questions: there is a lot of 'worry/hate' over XPS boards and their ability to delaminate. There are other people that say an XPS rides better than an EPS. I have access to both EPS and XPS where I am. If you were me and could build a board out of either foam, which one would you get? I would suppose that I have only ridden Poly and EPS boards. I like both. I might have liked my poly board better but it was a more expensive board. I lean towards building a XPS I'm just a little afraid of all the negatives everybody give online. Also, what do you do to help prevent the delam?
Do you know where to get white XPS? I found some in China but I needed to buy enough for about 50 boards and was going to cost a coupe of thousand US.
Made one from XPS like Andrew did. So far no delamination problems. And the good thing about XPS it does not take water. A bit heavier.

Actually I could imagine that they want to sell XPS. ;-) But still it demonstartes what I learnt that XPS is a closed cell structure which takes far less Water then EPS
I am the other way round. Never shaped EPS or PU. But from my view on the structure I would supose it is easier to shape XPS cause it has a very fine structure, but it gets bumps and scratches very easily. You have to be incredible careful with the blank. But I am by far an expert on this.
