How to Make a Surfboard Rack

Getting the garage reno almost done, will be getting back to posting the XPS surfboard build very soon. Until then here is a rack I built to organize my quiver of surfboards.

Thank you for this video! I just finished mine, and I want to mention one thing for people who haven't made theirs yet. I made mine with 1x2s for the boards that stick out on the metal brackets, and at 22 inches long to match the width of my boards, they flex more than I'd like when I lean a board on them. I was able to add stiffeners to help, but I'd recommend at least a 1x3 or 2x2 for stiffness, which even the smallest foam tubes should still be able to cover.

Have been looking for an idea for storing our surfboards from the wall which look ugly and will now attempt your idea with one difference and that is painting the back board whatever colour I find the brackets in (cause I am a girl and like things pretty)😄🙃😉

Hi Andrew, this is a good idea. I'm researching cost effective ways to build a surf rack. If you have a minute to respond, I have two questions. 1) How thick are the wood pieces on the 90 degree elbow arms? 2) Where did you buy that foam that wraps around the elbow arms?

What you should do is say what the items are called and where everyone can get them.
I literally spent 3 hours out of my day trying to figure out what the white blank board is called and turns out its called a surfboard blank..
