A week ago I cut my 1.5 year growth off because I felt like it was a time in my life I that I grew mental so I felt I should show it physically... just want to get that off my chest ✌🏾
same here, like a month a go i cut so much of my 3c hair off. im on track for waves now.
Me and my siblings are all mixed and all have different hair textures. Mine is abt 3c/4a by middle brother is about 4c and my youngest brother is 4b. We mainly live with my mom who is 2c so she never really knew what do with my hair( I’m the oldest and only girl) so she tried her best and once I got to like 4th grade she just let me do it myself. Over time my hair got really damaged and I didn’t know what to do. So I turned to UA-cam and people like you have really helped me learn what to do with my hair. I’ve also been able to learn how to do my younger brothers hair as well.
You were one of my main blonde inspos this year 😂🥰. After seeing your video, I’ve decided to let it go. After 4yrs of trying to reverse color and heat damage (resulting in my mid back length hair to break off into shoulder length), this really resonated with me. Granted I did multiple mini chips and several big chops I always revert back to damaging my hair with color, heat, or bad stylist choices. My curls are finally thriving and I want to keep them! Color can wait 🤣. Thanks Sheldon, I really needed this video to talk some sense into me lmao

So I'm an African American boy and I have 4c hair naturally. After bleaching, blowdrying, and flat ironing my box cut ive noticed that 3 years after all that, sections of my hair literally grow straight-ish, I've cut my hair bald 3 or 4x and I still have sections of straight hair growing when again I'm 4c. At this point I want to give up and die, I literally have been trying the natural thing but slowly I've been giving that up. 😭 and every time I see other 4c 4b guys at my school with popping afros and curls it makes me want to bathe in acid, like I'm sooooo jealous😭😭😭😭😭 my head be dry asf.

I cut off my slit ends, uneven ends, and dry and damaged hair . I have natural hair and I was continuously putting my hair In a puff ball so it cut off the back of my hair and it became super uneven. So I got it cut evenly and I got it dyed( with no bleach), about last summer in September. I have been taking care of it and it has really grown☺️👍😇

Then one day I listened to my cousin who said I should straighten my hair, and me as a guy who knows nothing about that kind of stuff put it on the highest setting and now my hair is super dry and not soft at all how it used to be😢

I have loose curly hair that's frizzy. I know my hair is frizzy because three years ago I died it and it's damaged. My curls are all messy and the longer my hair gets the more loose they are.

I just started using aloe on my hair this week as a (free) moisturizer since I have HELLA growing in my back yard....I seal w/ grapeseed oil and CHILE my fine, high-po strands have never felt happier and smoother than they do now!

Cocanola you know what's crazy is I've ALREADY noticed I'm retaining length from using aloe juice to re-moisturize my twists!! I didn't realize my hair was breaking so much during the week but my ends are staying full this time! It feels so right to *finally* figure out my hair's needs after 6 yrs fully natural!

I just got my hair bleached and dyed a couple days ago and now my hair is thinner. There’s not much breakage but my curl pattern is looser now. Does that mean it’s damaged???
my hair gets dry super fast, only some of it curls, it doesnt move at all (its 6+ inches), and its hard to get product into my hair. It feels like i have low porosity hair, but the way it just loses moisture makes it fee like i have high porosity. what do I even do to fix this.
My hair became damaged in April of 2022 because my mom thought texturizing my hair would be a good idea yet I only asked her to blow dry it out. It is now close to spring 2023 and my hair is growing back but is still damaged at the ends I’ve been trying my best to take care of it as much as I can but it’s still hard I am trying my very best to stay strong and take care of it because I am afraid of cutting it off yet no matter how hard I do try nothing seems to really work and I see my products online that looks like it can help but I have no money to get the products nor go to a salon for help I don’t know if there is anything that can actually help and I am trying my best to not loose hope but it’s getting harder and harder everyday
I got heat damaged from doing a keratin treatment and i flat ironed for a whole year. Ive used keratin in the past but i completely ruined my hair. Im just slowly cutting it off.

Ok so idk if my hair is necessarily damaged, but it definitely is unhealthy. How often do you wet and/or style your hair? My routine has been to wash my hair once a week, and condition it in the middle of the week. Then everyday (or everyday I leave the house) I put my head under a shower, wet it, shake it out until it’s just damp, and apply Blueberry Bliss’ curl creme. Ive heard that it’s very unhealthy to wet your hair everyday, but I just dont know what else I can do. My curls only last a couple hours until it slowly turns into a fro look. Especially when i wake up in the morning. Ive also suffered from a lot of hair loss too. It’s not too bad but at times you can see my scalp from the top of my head because my curls lay down. Im only at about 4-5 inches in the front and 3.5-4 inchss in the back. If you dont style your hair everyday, how do your curls stay together and nice overnight?

I have been growing my hair out for almost 1.5 years now. I noticed that i can see my scalp through my hair around the crown area. I dont know if this has always been like this. When i comb my hair out i cannot see my scalp on my crown but when i use products (Cantu or something else) it starts to show my scalp.
My hair is thick but at my crown its thin. Is this a normal thing? Can someone help me?
If it bothers you so much try getting it checked out by the doctor to make sure you have no health deficiencies. My scalp is a little visible in the crown area too, so you aren’t alone. Tbh I think it’s kinda normal & something you shouldn’t be too alarmed by unless it starts getting worse.
My scalp is the same way, it's pretty common and if you're anything like me your hair will still grow healthy in those areas you may just have to be a bit more patient
Around ur crown area grows thinner and some cases slower depending on ur hair texture so it can be natural for ur hair
I noticed that its also really frizzy there. Could this be crown breakage?

I’m not sure if my hair is damaged but i do tend to have some frizzy ass hair. i do have an little afro. Bleached it blonde but didn’t damage my hair. Today I just went back black permanently after being blonde for a month. If my hair damaged shit!!!
