- Prufrock drilling head is being loaded on to a truck this morning for shipping out back to Bastrop Texas,
Looks like the pace on Model Ys has picked up with Model Ys charging on the east side today.

I'm addicted to your videos, they feel like therapy :) Thanks for your work!
Thank you!
Thanks Brad
0:55. Southend, west. Level 1. Applying an acrylic render over the yellow wall sheeting. Would be unique inside the building. A sample piece perhaps.
1:23. Southend, west diagonal corner. Fenced-off the cable recycling bin.
2:35. Southend, east. Apron. Orange telehandler has a ring hanging on the chain. Similar ring previously seen on the large diameter pipes. A jig/guide of some sort.
2:59. Southend, east. Apron. Top. Telehandler carrying a cranked pipe segment. Maybe for the step-down into the deep excavation.
5:05. Windtunnel. Green generator has been shifted around the corner. Small excavator at work.
5:31. Parking Garage. Fire hydrants, exit signage, lighting.
7:17. Westside, old contractors parking lot. Telehandler being used to sort out some issue with the low-laoder. Measuring tape checking the height at 7:40.
11:40. Westside. Saddle Rock Drive. Excavation. Green pipe, sanitary sewer.
Trench on the road was marked months ago when the city water supply was connected.
7:17 The worker in the orange jacket is standing in a bad spot if the crane were to drop its load.
0:55 For some reason that spot looks it may not inside when completed.
@@sammyk874 0:55. That makes sense. A drive-through opening that's a bit more up market than a delivery door.
Merci👍👍👍
No WAIT!!!!! Dig another tunnel side by side!!!
Thanks, Brad. Answered my question
Thanks Brad.
Thanks Brad!
Cooling:
@ 3:49 A good close up view of the pipes. Excavation to the right is deeper than needed for the pipes alone.
@ 3:40 A view of the pipes inside the building. Note the sheet pile protecting the column footings.
Cooling tower:
@ 3:53 A view from the top.
@ 5:57 A good close up view of the north fan unit.
Pond:
@ 4:07 (Towards the bottom right) Pipe for filling the pond had been place at the corner of the pond.
Colorado River:
@ 6:00 (Bottom left) A view of the stormwater outfall structure and more spools of orange conduit stored under the bridge.
EOL facility:
@ 11:35 to 11:40 and 11:56 Appears likely to be a project for the connection of the EOL lift station force main to the city's sanitary sewer system.
Beautiful day. Gorgeous video.
9:10 Are those new solar security cams protecting Cybertrucks from taggers? If not, what else could they be?
7:32 TBM main shield being lifted onto a truck. Close up of the front shield below shows two of the four main drive motors missing, one gearbox missing. Could have been removed after the drive complete, but no reason why. Most likely reason would be a gearbox or pinion failure during the drive causing the removal of the motor and gearbox to free the gearbox from the main ring gear. The assymetric drive motors could be a reason for the slower than expected progress.
7:32. Gearbox and/or pinion failure. I'll add that to the database.
My impression is that the TBM is being handled with some care, for re-use. Welding on the lifting lugs for example, would be unnecessary if it was simply being broken down for parts.
@@DessieDoolan Not really. The big lifting lugs is still the best way to handle the move. If they were going to strip it for parts they would do it back at Bastrop. Even if it is not to be used again as Prufrock 3, its size and main components could still be recycled into the next generation as 70%+ of the components would be common between their TBM's.
@@davidsalisbury50 Is there any intel around the industry about the next job? Or is TBC very much a closed shop.
Shield diameter obviously related to tunnel diameter, but have shield diameters (for any given tunnel diameter) decreased or increased as TBMs have developed?
@@DessieDoolan nothing gets out to the industry from TBC.
As far as I am aware their only other confined work is in Vegas.
@@davidsalisbury50 Hello David. Question without notice! What sort of ground water seepage flows could be expected in the tunnel? Or would be acceptable?
There are 2 100mm pipes in amongst the various pipes and conduits laid in the invert, I'm guessing the pair of 100mm pipes would be a primary and a fail-safe drain from a sump pump. Also thinking that sounds rather large! There's also 3 x 40mm conduits or pipes that seem a more reasonable size (to me) for a sump only dealing with low flow rates.
Question constantly coming up in comments about how the open west side of the tunnel can be kept dry. I'm thinking a simple grate drain across the entrance would suffice for day to day rain events, and a bund/levee further out would deal with proper cloudburst events.
Thanks Brad for your tireless job. Could you give me please the name of the first song?
CGI Snake by Chris Zabriskie. It is in the UA-cam music library.
What are those giant cooling water pipes made of?
I've been wanting to ask that for a while. The simple searches I've done says they should be made of carbon steel. I would think it needs to be some sort of drinking water rated pipe but huge.
The sound track is scary. 😢 Ghostly… Like it’s a zombie apocalypse. The end times are upon us.
This is by far the best channel to follow GigaTexas progress! , no continuous talking nonesense, janky or wild scenes. Just absolute top quality video and images and great music on top. The first song today was just perfect ! You are by far the best pilot out of all the CyberSquad pilots.
