Thank you so much for supporting our channel! This in not my residence but for the name of helping people on youtube that are looking to do the same thing here it is, transforming a one car garage into a nice finished living space with a bathroom. Here we close in the drive in portion and match the concrete up with the existing garage foundation.

Grandfather always told me to take a mallet and tamp the forms to get the "pitting" out after pouring. It releases a lot of the air trapped from pouring the concrete and minimizes the pits in the final product.
That probably would have helped. You're lucky, mine never told me that 😌
This is EXACTLY what I needed! Great video - thank you!
Make sure to use a concrete vibrator, or even just tap the sides of your boards a bunch as you put the concrete in to settle it and it will get those air bubbles out.
For sure, i messed that up but will definitly next time 🤘
Great stuff, looking forward to following the progress!
Thanks Chuck! Appreciate the support!
Why did u use the rebar holders instead of wire to hold it up?
Just thinking $25 vs $1
Great job. Was looking for exactly this type of video. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
That pitting is bc your concrete wasn’t wet enough to begin with, or just dried to quick before you got it poured.
Thanks John! I’ll be sure to mix it better in the future
Great job. Loved the rebar.
Thanks Kevin!
Im going to have to convert my 2 and a half garage into a home for financial reasons i think this is my best options and later when i get more cash i can build a new garage
I really think it is the best way to gain space, if you think about how the market would value your home they might say 40k value for a garage but finished sf is worth way more!
You should have used a form release on the forms.
Nice job! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Good work.
Thanks!thanks so much!
Music really doesn't need to be that loud in the edit.
Should never be louder than vocal level
@@nil4309 yeah, you can't adjust it post upload
Thanks for the video!
Of course! Thanks for supporting the channel!
I won't use premix in a bag anymore. It looks like crap. Going to mix my own.
2:28 Ant 🐜 supervising board.
If thats going to be above ground height and visible from outside I would have bricked it up.
What do you think the best way to raise the floor would be for a 24x24?
It would really depend on the height, cost and how level your slab is i guess. bunch of factors
6:10 ant 🐜 returns to inspect results, I think she likes it.
Freaking ants huh?! The audacity.
Did you pressure wash or clean the old concrete before using the bonding agent?
No, just cleaned the debris off.
How far down does the garage concrete slab go? Want to do the exact same thing but don’t know how thick the garage slab is, the house foundation is about 4 inches above
I’m not sure how thick the foundation is but I would assume it has frost walls appropriate for NH
@@BreakFreeHomestead ah ok when you made the holes down into the slab for the rebar how deep did you go 2-3 inches
Yes and put some epoxy in
@@BreakFreeHomestead awesome thanks I will be doing the same exact thing this coming weekend with my garage and a bathroom as well
😊
that should
be pressure treated wood for the sill !!!!!!!!!!!!
I didnt install i sill in this video?
Where is the rest of the video

Did you needed any permit to close the garage ?
Yes, there was a permit. Inspections were required for the addition of the windows framing, plumbing for the bathroom we added and the electrical. Then a final inspection obviously since they’re going to change the taxable value on the residence.
Great details, very much appreciated 😊
Recorded horizontally:)
It's still could you did not attach that to the floor you kidding me that's a lot of weight nah it's not much weight but you should attach it to the floor
Man wtf is you saying
Oh yeah you’ve never done concrete before have you??? No worries. It wasn’t horrible….you need to vibrate/hammer the fuck out of the wood and pack the hell out of the concrete as you’re going. That will ensure you don’t have those air pockets. It’s simple. The concrete needs to be manipulated a lot to get the air out of those pockets. 🫡💪🏻
