  • This is my quick review on the Snap On High Leverage Pliers HL138ACP for red, HL138ACPG for green and HL138ACPO for orange. Advertised as being able to multiply hand force by up to 75%, the snap on high leverage pliers have been around for a while now. But have seen a new surge in popularity thanks to platforms like tik tok. Though not being the famous Snap On Tik Tok pliers (Those being the Snap On needle nose pliers instead) these are definitely impressive on their own. Older reviews and some forums have said that these multiply the force of your hands by 4X however this is unconfirmed. They definitely do work well tho!
These pliers shine in tight spaces where you cannot get your entire hand in to push down on the handles, so your mere finger force could be amplified to get whatever work need be done. In this video, I review these pliers and demonstrate their ability in a non scientific way and of course, go over my experience with using them ion 2024.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, you don't need big name brand tools to be a good mechanic. If you don't use a tool all that much, it does not warrant you spending hundreds of dollars on a big name brand tool, hence why stuff like this makes sense.

Do you own these pliers? Are they a gimmick or do they actually work for you?

I love these things. They work good on rounded off bolts too.

I wonder if they'd ever combine the high leverage tech with the needle nose style, that'd be great

Unfortunately when the pliers are on the ×4 position the handles are further appart. When they're further appart the rubber band applies more force due to it being stretched further and squeezing harder. Not sure how to accurately test those but that way can be a little deceiving I think. Good video to show the capabilities though, and I definitely think they grip much better! Im just being another annoying internet keyboard commando lol

Hey! yeah the test isn't very accurate but I urge everyone to try em on the Snap-On truck before buying em. They really work well. I honestly wish they combo this high leverage tech with the Flank Jaw pliers as those things could do with more force on the jaws

@ReadlineReady Yeah, that would be handy! I usually use my Knipex Pliers Wrench when I wanna hold a nut or bolt without marring it, and I don't feel like grabbing the proper sized wrench. If you haven't tried the Pliers wrench, they're game changers. I carry the little 6" in my pocket. It applies much more force as well, and goes from 0 to over an inch. Nice for AN aluminum fittings and bending flat things too. I'll probly still grab a set of those Pliers though! Thanks

I have actually heard good things about those pliers, hoping to get one soon. I have the Duratech universal wrench which I carry around all the time, it can be used as a hammer too. But it's limited to what sizes you can fit. Its a closed adjustable so it does not slip at all though
