Since its launch in 2011, the Reebok Nano training shoe line has gone through multiple iterations and changes.
Now in its 13th model with the Reebok Nano X3, it's been really interesting to see the ebbs and flows of the Reebok Nano and how it's changed based on athlete goals and needs.
In this Reebok Nano History, I talk with Tal Short and go over every Reebok Nano model and discuss key talking points of each shoe.

I think what's most interesting about the Reebok Nano training shoe line is how we all gravitate toward different models.
For example, I've thoroughly enjoyed the Reebok Nano X3, Reebok Nano 2, Reebok Nano X, and Reebok Nano 8 and those are some of my favorites to date.

FYI - My bad on the dates, y'all. I flew into Boston on a redeye to surprise my best friend for his birthday last weekend and didn't sleep an ounce on the flight because I was sitting by some *interesting* folks (save that story for another time). My brain no good with no sleep 😂

The 6 & 8 are the goats of the Nanos. The 8’a were so comfy for wearing casually. I wish Reebok would bring them back. Mine finally are so worn out I can’t wear them anymore 🥲
I’ll never forget my nano 4s. I still miss them to this day. Rocking the new x4 now!
I wish they would drop the 9’s again. I love them!
I really wish reebok would just being back the 4mm drop. You really can feel a difference!

Being that I got into CrossFit in 2011 and have every model in multiple colors of these shoes, it is safe to say... I am a fan. Thanks for getting together with Tal and making this!

Oh, and I’m a Nano X proponent. Don’t care about that extra weight. That shoe was solid and i still beat it up to this day.

The nano 5 is the best training shoe I've ever had. I wore mine until I had holes behind my ankle that got too bad for me to deal with. I wish I could still get them, they were literally perfect for me
I'm still using the Nano 5 in the gym and they are like new, but I'm only lifting in them and not running, jumping or climbing ropes.
Really interesting video as my exposure to Nanos began with the 10. Really love the X3's. Hope they keep updating them with the occasional throwback release for those of us who missed out initially.

Got my X3 a month ago. For lifting and cross training, it’s great but I wouldn’t say that it is for running. Overall, a good shoe.

Great Video. I loved my 5s and still love my nano 8s. I bought them new and have kept using them until it's obvious I need new ones. I haven't wanted the softer/plusher feeling of the new nanos so I've been sitting and waiting for awhile. Looking at Strike Haze Trainers, and many others with the OG feel. In the end, I just bought the re-released nano 2.0. Can't wait to get my feet in those.

I only had Nano 4s and 9s. Loved both but I think a slight edge to Nano 9s. Wish I had picked up an extra pair! Just picked up some X2s and 6000s on clearance.
9's are the greatest! I went a bit crazy and bought 12 pairs or so and stockpiled them. My friends and family thought I was a hoarder but so worth now.
I got a pair of nano 8, they are great! But after all these years they have worn a bit.

Eh, they're going to feel a lot diff. I love my 8s and the X3s don't fit the same which can be super hit or miss, imo.
Love my 9s but now I cant find a worthy replacemwnt. Hoping they bring it back.
Any ideas after the nano x3 what is your thoughts and plans for the future . Amazing shoe for heavy lifting good for some run and some body worktout but not so much jumbing and not more that 40min . Also the materials are amazing but the machine glue them with no antetion to detail it looks like just glue it anuniformly . Now that crossfit is all over the place with so many machinges what are going to change for nano x4
Fives were legendary imo, fours were solid, and although they’re not nano history, the Reebok powers were also super dope for weightlifting. Just gave the x3’s a try today we’ll see how they go! For the algo!😂
Ohhh, hopefully we see some nice rollouts with those models. I know there may be more coming in 2024.

I’ve got arthritis on my feet and knees and have been wearing the nano x 3 for about 12 months love it. I’m planning on doing hyrox next how do you think they hold up for 8 x 1km runs on support? I currently do little running CrossFit but not a lot of running even there.
They'll be okay if you like a denser ride, imo!
What about hexalite in the forefoot area to help with jogging comfort? Would be cool to see that tech make a comeback !

Which iteration is the softest that is better for plyo/jumping rather than lifting?
The X1, X2, and X3 would prob give you the "plushest" feel of these.
I personally liked the 3s the best. I used them from 2012-2021. The only reason I trashed them was because they were smelly. 😂
Is the nanox2 good for cardio around 5 miles daily?
Nah, they'll prob run too dense for your asks if I had to guess

Nano 6, 4 looks good - those were the most popular... can only speak about how they look - never tried any of them
So it basically turned more and more into a running shoe as time went on.
You could look at it from that angle. Still wouldnt call them running shoes but the newer models are a lot more hybrid-esque
I don't CrossFit but enjoy weightlifting and powerlifting in CF shoes. Watching this video made me wonder what the heck people were lifting in before CrossFit shoes. 🫨
Reebok needs to release those new LL3 colors already! The black/gum and white/gum options look amazing, but I’m pining for that all red model.
