I can really recommend Thrustmaster Hotas 4 joystick for X-Plane 11 VR (same as I'm using) if you dont want to use the VR controllers. Get it here: amzn.to/2FJmhQh Thanks for supporting my channel, guys!
I bought the saitek yoke system. It would be an good combination with my xplane software. I don't need any other console now I guess. Thank you for your video.
X-Plane 11 VR - Is this the best VR flight simulator? Let me know your thoughts guys :) Also, try the free X-Plane 11 demo with native VR support from the official X-Plane website 😊
SweViver Your right Xplane 11 is the best flight Simm out there. You should learn how to use the free ORTHO4XP scenery, you can simply download any part of the world and see it as the real world pilots see it. You won't belive the difference it makes. You need to learn how to use the free software and Xplane 11 ini. It's pretty easy.
Guys, my latest X-Plane 11 VR Performance Boost Tutorial video increases the fps drastically and finally makes the flights smooth! 😀 Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/iOmp9u9s0Ds/v-deo.html
Holy cow, full interactive panel commands? I was really not expecting this? This is really well done! In term of control this reminds me a bit of Interkosmos VR.
Haha awesome, Im sure you will enjoy it a lot! Remember u dont need to install the whole 90Gb of the game. Go into game Properties in Steam, DLC tab and chose only the locations you will fly to get installed. I only picked North America and it was totally 25Gb or so :) Cheers and have fun up in the air!
Thank you for the tip. I noticed it automatically adds all the free DLC when you purchase it, so yeah... 90GB might be a bit. Plus I have another issue... I'll have to load it in from a old fashioned mechanical harddrive. Let's hope it'll work or else I will know what to get for my birthday money in February. ;) Cheers, and have fun as well. Also have a great end of the year, and all the best in 2018! ps. Tomorrow my Deluxe Audio strap is incoming, so that'll be another thing to look forward to. Sadly I never found any youtuber that made a rough comparison by holding the new headphones to the microphone as well as the old earphones or some proper headphones. So sadly it's hard to know how much the audio is improved over those earbuds (which hurt my ears in Project CARS 2... screaming engines).
Hahaha I bet it was ;) I have never been flying a plane on my own in real life, and Im sure its a real challenge! :) Indeed, VR makes those flight simulators so much better and more immersive! Cheers and happy flying :)
Im sorry for being gone a week now, having some bad days 😕 Hope Im back on track soon! Hugs to you all! 😘 twitter.com/SweViver/status/948921102994214912
Thanks mate, Im so happy to hear that! :) Starting to feel a bit better today, hopefully I will have something up Saturday or Sunday! Cheers and enjoy the weekend :)
Miss you. Still, I am of the opinion that you shouldn't do too many videos a week or you will either be bored of doing them or you'll burn yourself out.
Oh my gosh, such fun to watch your video. Great job dude. Oh, I'm glad you didn't fall off when you opened the door 😂. I have to get VR now after watching this video.
Great show case! Is it possible to use the VR Hands functions while also having both separate yoke controller and rudder pedals for flight operations? While the full feature is amazing, I would mostly only want the VR Hands function for the button flipping and activation.
Hey Sr. Yes is actually the set up I am currently using, Joke and ruder pedals from CH Products. and just ONE hand controller in my right hand to do all related to switches, knobs, throttle and everything else such as operation menus etc. I am running X-Plane 11.3 and Oculus Rift. I have been doing FSim since Microsoft Flight Simulator 98, but just discovered the option of doing VRF recently, like a few weeks ago while was talking to a friend and finally ended spending into a brand new custom made PC and the Oculus. No regrets! this is a dream come true for me :)
For all of you new to X-Plane... it’s not a game and if you think it is and you want to try it out then good luck! It’s a wonderful flight simulator, but keep in mind it IS a simulator.
Indeed, you are so right. Im sorry for calling it a game, its really a complex simulator and the learning curve is steep, but thats what i love about it :) I made a new video today actually with XP11, sooo beautiful scenery! Cheers
SweViver no need to fret! Wonderful video. I’m glad VR is opening X-Plane up to a new line of consumers. The community used to be much smaller before X-Plane 11 came out.
jellypeanutbutter666 To some extent. There are a number of tutorials built into the simulator in addition to online videos. I’m trying to make my own tutorials for really new people, as well.
First off I love your channel, its the best VR channel on youtube hands down, this Xplane VR has me hooked. Since its a very beta product maybe you could do a video on plugins that do work. One huge issue for the vive is to see anything on the desktop i have to take off my headset. So the ATC plugin that works so great is annoying because every time i have to interact with it i have to remove my headset.
Just wanted to let you know that I believe X-Plane 11 in its current state depends mostly on single thread performance for CPU, and much less on GPU. So having a nice processor overclocked is much more important than whatever GPU you're using. Also, I love your enthusiasm and style of speaking. I had a roommate from Poland and your accent kind of reminds me of him. Maybe Polish and Swedish accents are similar when speaking English?
+Austin Marti thanks a lot Austin :) Yeah X Plane 11 is very CPU demanding, I didn't realize that until after making that video hehe. As u maybe saw in my last VR UA-camr Meetup video, I have purchased a 8700k + watercooling and fast ddr4 ram now, will upgrade next week and hopefully it will help in X Plane and Fallout 4 VR which also is very CPU heavy. You nailed it mate :) Im actually born in Poland, moved to Sweden when I was 6 years old. That explains the accent hehe. Say hello to your room mate and have a nice weekend mate! 😀
Little update :) My new 8700K helped a bit but not much, just like u said. Its only using 1 core so the 4.9Ghz im using now is better but not much better. Anyway, I love this simulator :)
It can be CPU limited, but upgrading the CPU will lead to GPU limits. It's unfortunate that devs don't use more cores. There really isn't an excuse these days (or even 4 years ago) to not use at least 6 cores.
Thank you very much Colin, Im happy to hear that! You are welcome to check out my other X-Plane videos as well. I made a in-depth performance boost video recently, how you can almost double the frame rate in XP11 VR :) Enjoy the weekend!
Awesome vid. Answered a few start sequence questions. Could you please tell me how you can record full screen with sound? My recorded picture is just a square (two wide black vertical lines) on the screen, no sound... btw amazing graphics
I finally got it to work. I just had to uninstall flyinside for xplane. wow! its really really amazing. sweviver can you imagine this with the pimax 8k
What do you see when you notice reprojection? (Want to know what to look out for in VR myself and wondered what is not good about it as I thought it helps frame rates etc).. could you read the gauges without leaning in to get close enough to them? I'm also hoping the native vr option will support the leap motion controller (like the flyinside VR plugin does) so you can use your actual hands and fingers to manipulate knobs and dials and use my physical joystick, yoke, rudder pedals Thank you
Hi SweViver . I'm sorry to disturb you but I just have a little question if possible. I don't have X-Plane 11. How do we play this one in VR? Do we need to tweak something in the options or is it a different version? How does it work? Thanks a lot.
I wont say its better or not as the other sims are great as well, but the VR interaction using only your hands/controllers doing everything ia really outstanding and adds so much more realism :) Sure there are many weather conditions in XP11, not sure about tornadoes thou. Will try some day! Cheers
Hello, good evening SweViver; I entend to buy next time the HTC Vive. I fly with colleagues military jets each week in the FSX. With the current version there have headphones inside? And a microphon is inside the HTC? What do you recommend while the fly simulations? best wishs Harald CH
Just out on a limb here, but mmmmaybe there is a case for Power Glove comeback here. With some 21st century upgrades, like haptic feedback. And less of the oven mitten feeling.
I could see that, it just needs to be well implemented. You could even have the gloves harden to where when you grab something it actually wraps around the object accurately
Did you try the second flight school choice (learning how to take off in a Cessna)? The pop-up window instructions only appeared on my computer monitor, not in the Vive headset, which made them useless.
This is an incredible video, thanks for the effort in putting it together. I was tossing up about getting a VR headset, now you've convinced me! Now to be pedantic. I'd like the VR controllers to look like hand/fingers. Can you adjust the view? It looks like a view in the cockpit as seen by Marty Feldman with the seat right back. I'm 5'8", and sitting in a real Cessna never have such a wide view.
Thank you very much mate! :) I will for sure do more videos of X-Plane 11, and I have one more already up, trying it out with Oculus Rift and a custom free San Francisco scenery addon here: ua-cam.com/video/uyaBIfZ8GwI/v-deo.html Im sure you will love this simulator in VR, its a whole new experience compared to playing on the monitor and whatever you see in this video looks WAY better in the VR headset :) Yes you can adjust the view any time with the controllers easy accessible any time. Also there is a FOV (field of view setting in the graphical game settings menu). Well, the flat image you see from the VR view looks indeed a bit different compared to what you see while being in VR. The whole cockpit looks very narrow and tight actually, and I was surprised thats actually how it is in real life in a small cessna. Im slightly above 6 feet tall and I really feel Im almost hitting my head in the ceiling :) So what Im trying to say, is that the view in this video looks slightly too "zoomed out" compared to what I saw inside VR. Anyhow, if you are into flight simulators I can assure you that you will be amazed about how much more realistic it is in VR! Im still amazed every time I jump into X plane 11 :) Cheers
You should’ve used the skyhawk with the g 1000 avionics by laminar research ( the g 1000 is a glass cockpit setup developed in the real world by Garmin)
Your landing light should be on when you are on runway and and below 10,000ft in USA. One more thing. Can I play in VR but with my yoke rather than these sticks?? I don't know but I don't get a feel in these sticks!
The x-Plane 11 Demo version does not have VR support yet :( I have tried it and there is no VR option. The demo states that it is X-Plane 11.11 where as version 11.20 (Beta version) that has the VR option. They state: "Note: Steam VR is a free download that enables X-Plane 11 to use VR. Steam VR is compatible with the X-Plane 11 DVD set, digital download edition, and X-Plane on Steam." If I have missed something please let me know as I would love to try the demo in VR! Cheers!
Thank you so much Thomas, it means a lot to me :) Im happy you enjoy my videos! By the way, XP11 has got a new VR5 beta recently, giving 25% mode performance with Oculus RIft! Make sure to use ASW reprojection (best for me is locked to 45fps) and Im sure you should get butter smooth gameplay. On Vive its still more demanding though... Cheers and thanks again! :)
Hehe thanks Sean :) I know, I probably overused that electro pop lately.. Also, piano music felt more right for a flight sim. Those free music libraries on Epidemic Sound are awesome, wish I had explored it earlier! Cheers
Hello, good evening. You don't know what I make wrong when I activate for example with Shift 4 in a military aircraft the Air-Brake (Hawker Hunter) and the instrument in the cockpit is not visibility? I have the HTC-Vive. Is this something with the Zoom? best wishs Harald (CH)
And the native vr makes this sim not only the best vr sim, but the best flight sim. Bye bye flyinside, it sucked so much compared to this. You can clearly read all the panel instruments while takin off. Amazing. Thank you sweviver for your review.
Hi SweViver! I am flyin xplane11 with my oculus, if u need some advice for setting up xplane feel free to contact me. There are a lot of improvements out there for u, especially the "Detail" Setup was not perfectly matching your system.
I've always been fascinated with Flight sims but way too intimidated by the complexity to put any time into them. But this looks AMAZING. Are there any "idiot" settings on that game for people who just want a more "arcade" type experience but would still like to fly around? Does the program actually walk you through learning how to use all the instruments if you know nothing at all?
Same here mate :) X Plane 11 is one of the most advanced and realistic simulators, so the learning curve is quite steep compared to many other sims, but the game includes a flight school where you learn most of the instruments, IFR, communication etc. Also there are endless of guides, websites and communities that can help you out with more advanced stuff. Im not a flight sim pro (anymore at least) but I felt it was really easy to get started. A tip is to start off with the small planes and grind them a lot. Jets and Jumbo jets are way more difficult to handle :) Also the VR interaction with the cockpit really makes it easier to learn instead of remembering keyboard shortcuts and stuff. Feels more logic and user friendly right from the start! Hope u will have a lot of fun, and the more deep u dig into it the better it gets! Cheers
the default aircraft aren't very realistic in-terms of what's required to start them and fly, I'm actually a pilot so I unlike others, I notice an awful lot obviously. If you're interested, it's possible to perform basic flights with the minimum requirements; simply by watching sim tutorials on UA-cam. The Cessna 172 default in the sim is incredibly easy to fly as there's a lot not built within it for that reason. So it's a case of having a very basic understanding of flight dynamics. The start up is incredibly simple compared to other aircraft and its all fly-by-wire meaning no auto-pilot ( i died laughing when this was brought up, also as a side note, the auto-pilot features in larger turbo prop and jet aircraft doesn't mean the aircraft flies itself, far from. It's all daunting even for trainee pilots, but flying the default aircraft is a breeze. Have fun flying.
Damn, your computer must be an absolute beast to be able to play X-Plane with good framerates on decent settings. I've got a GTX 1070 with an 4th gen Intel i5 CPU and 16 gb of RAM. I can only get around 30 fps on the lowest settings, and if I go any higher the game becomes nearly unplayable with sub 20 fps. I'm not going to upgrade my PC anytime soon unfortunately (I just now upgraded to the 1070), so I guess I'm going to have to wait until Laminar Research implements better optimization features. I have one question, though. It's it my CPU that is bottlenecking the performance, or could it be my GPU, or both? Upgrading my CPU is going to be a pain in the arse because my motherboard only supports 4th gen CPUs and DDR3 memory. If I wanted to install a 7th gen CPU, I would have to basically rebuild my whole PC from scratch again including a new motherboard, new RAM, and possibly even a new case. :( FYI I have the SteamVr reprojection enabled. It helps to a certain degree, but when fps is this low graphical artifacts start to become unbearable. Also, reprojection doesn't work so well with positional movement, so navigating the interior of the plane can be a very jittery and sickening experience.
Please try Prepar3d 4.1 with a Pimax 4k, and especially the Pimax 8k when you get it. You can try the academic version and they will give you a refund if you do not like it. You will also need fly-inside with it. For greatest realism find some photoscenery or buy and Orbx product.
how you got VR working like that? its so smooth! im trying to configure oculus rift with X-Plane 11, but performance is unplayable, all other VR apps works perfectly, pretty much native VR work the same as FlyInside for me, i dont know why, the tracking is horrible, it jumps all the time, i cant control anything normally, and its not graphics issue, it works the same on lowest possible settings, i have 4770k, 2X GTX1070 SLI (useless) 16GB RAM, its not top of the line, but it cant be that bad on my system, its probably Oculus, i see everybody playing it on Vive with no issues...
Using Rift, use the Oculus Tray Tool software to "force 45fps reprojection (ASW) and it will do magic and make it smooth despite the game only running in 45fps. XP11 only uses 1 cpu core for rendering pipeline to GPU so thats why changing settings doesn't do much. Try overclocking CPU as much as u can, at least 4.6Ghz. Dont use reflections in game. Also disable SLi in nvidia panel (not supported anyway). Check my last video from today, I played it on Rift and metioning my settings :)
First of all, great detailed video. Thanks I am just wondering how I can use my home cockpit yoke and throttle quadrant and still use the VR. I mean I would need 4 hands!!!!
Hi Guys , Please help me.. I am having some issue with vive controllers. When I change X-plane to VR mode, I cannot select anything. I mean I can see the controllers from VR headset , but unable to select from the controller . Do u have any suggestions? If I upgrade to vive pro it will work ? Thanks in advance
Yes, its a great looking flight sim, but unfortunately compared to xp11, Aerofly FS2 feels more like a game in terms of realism and dynamics... but thats just my personal opinion, we are all different ;)
But i am waiting for gloves and/or a vest or a body suits that has pressure actuator or some kind of sensory feedback. I know you can buy some custom very expensive stuff to use with your VR but i want it as a common product.
I promise you, that you will love flight simulators on the Oculus Rift! :) Also the performance has been improved 20-50% in VR the last updates. And yeah, VR p**n is actually quite cool in VR I can admit lol Cheers man and enjoy!
Yes but that was quite long time ago. Its great as well and beautiful looking, but I miss the VR interaction with my hands. Thats what makes XP11 so much more realiatic in my opinion. Also XP11 has so much more addon content. But i know a lot of people still prefer Aerofly 2 :) we are all different hehe
They are both very similar graphics wise, but in terms of realism, physics and aerodynamics then XP11 is much more realistic and advanced. Also the VR implementation (hand controlled) is more finished and complete in XP11. The only thing that actually really is better in Aerofly FS2 is the performance (frames per second), plus the fact that you have some more variation of different default airplanes and also the default scenery seems to be better on FS2 (at least some of the cities). But then again XP11 has 100000's of addons, plugins and custom scenerys you can download. If you want to go serious with Flight Simulators, chose the best and most advanced one, and that is X Plane 11 for sure :)
Im using a green screen setup and recording it with OBS Studio, using chroma keying, then putting it as a layer above the game image. Its really simple but it requires that you have some kind of green screen background. Check out my green screen room video: ua-cam.com/video/4I2Jlg_f9e8/v-deo.html
No there is a new native VR support (beta) added in the Steam version, and also the free demo on official website. Sorry no idea about GearVR though... cheers! :)
:-). I heard that about leap motion too. Its been a bit neglected by developers. If pimax manage to get the hand tracking module for the 8k working well in the future & this game gives it proper support, that would be amazing. A hotas to fly & your hands to use the switches. That would be some next level vr. Can't wait for my pimax. I'm staying positive that they will deliver
This did not work on my Samsung Odyssey. It was super glitchy and I could not see my hands or controllers. I got it to work 2 times and then after that I could never get it to boot up again.
Gaming in still Life That’s a fairly new headset so support may come in time, im guessing they targeted the main two headsets but as they are all open vr I’d bet someone clever will patch it if they don’t.
if you didnt have pedals. can you make it without the 2 controllers and play only with your HTC Vive and your joystick and throttle lever ? is it possible ?
As good CPU as possible, especially good single core performance of 4Ghz or higher (Overclocking helps a lot). 16Gb RAM should do it good, but I would not recommend below 16, especially for custom scenery. GPU speed helps a lot if you want to do supersampling, so I would recommend a GTX 1080 or at least a 1070. Also, have in mind that since I made this video, the performance has increased a lot in XP11 with new updates. Also, check my Performance tutorial video I made about XP11, you will find it on my channel :) Cheers
Looks like MS flight sim from years ago. Is there joystick support? It's nice that there's native VR control support but IMO the best control scheme for a flight sim is joystick/HOTAS.
those plugins and mods would probably never run in vr unless your pc had four-way titans and a mad overclocked i7 and insane watercooling along with a stupid amount of available data
Lewis Martin actually ortho4xp makes you gain a 10 fps average and x-europe has no impact. Only weather add-ons have impact. Even if you had 10 way sli titan V that wouldn't help in X-Plane
it is very Nice !! Wow i got X-Plane 11 as well, but ! i did not buy it in Steam, i bought it direct from X-Plane11 site, ,now ...how do i get in with My Vive VR to work in Vr ,you show that you are already in VR Hmm, did you bought it in steam ? i did not. HMMmm does that mean i can not get My vr to work because i did not buy it in steam ?
I can really recommend Thrustmaster Hotas 4 joystick for X-Plane 11 VR (same as I'm using) if you dont want to use the VR controllers.

What do you see when you notice reprojection? (Want to know what to look out for in VR myself and wondered what is not good about it as I thought it helps frame rates etc).. could you read the gauges without leaning in to get close enough to them? I'm also hoping the native vr option will support the leap motion controller (like the flyinside VR plugin does) so you can use your actual hands and fingers to manipulate knobs and dials and use my physical joystick, yoke, rudder pedals Thank you
If you try Aerofly 2 you'll findout that you can turn everything to Ultra and you gte 90 fps in VR.... It's the best flying experience for VR.
Sweet! Looks so amazing I might get this next year!
Hi SweViver
. I'm sorry to disturb you but I just have a little question if possible. I don't have X-Plane 11. How do we play this one in VR? Do we need to tweak something in the options or is it a different version? How does it work? Thanks a lot.
is this more better than fsx an p3d v4 what about how can u see real world weather like tornadoes funnel clouds ect
I wont say its better or not as the other sims are great as well, but the VR interaction using only your hands/controllers doing everything ia really outstanding and adds so much more realism :)
Sure there are many weather conditions in XP11, not sure about tornadoes thou.
Clouds cost too many frames, IMO, and are a bit buggy. I recommend clear weather. Also, try flying at dusk. They really nailed dusk lighting.
What vr headset should i get? I owned the dk1/dk2/cv1/psvr. Money isnt an issue. Thanks.
Looking forward seeing you testing xplane 11 with the pimax 8k early next year :)
can't wait to try this level of VR interaction in star citizen in the year 2055
Did you try the second flight school choice (learning how to take off in a Cessna)? The pop-up window instructions only appeared on my computer monitor, not in the Vive headset, which made them useless.
Thanks for the excellent demo. Can't wait to buy my own x-plane and a VR headset, I'm using a 980Ti and i7, and I hope it will work...
:) I will for sure do more videos of X-Plane 11, and I have one more already up, trying it out with Oculus Rift and a custom free San Francisco scenery addon here: ua-cam.com/video/uyaBIfZ8GwI/v-deo.html
Im sure you will love this simulator in VR, its a whole new experience compared to playing on the monitor and whatever you see in this video looks WAY better in the VR headset :) Yes you can adjust the view any time with the controllers easy accessible any time.
Thanks ! I've just subscribed. Pushed it from 9.9K to 10K (do I get a balloon or a lollypop?)!!
Thank you so much, wow I totally missed we just reached 10k :) Haha I promise to bring the balloons next time! Cheers
Thanks for the demo flight Captain SweViver ! When was VR support added ?
The x-Plane 11 Demo version does not have VR support yet :( I have tried it and there is no VR option. The demo states that it is X-Plane 11.11 where as version 11.20 (Beta version) that has the VR option. They state: "Note: Steam VR is a free download that enables X-Plane 11 to use VR. Steam VR is compatible with the X-Plane 11 DVD set, digital download edition, and X-Plane on Steam." If I have missed something please let me know as I would love to try the demo in VR! Cheers!
You are so amazing and I love your enthusiasm!! Keep it up!! I have X-Plane but my computer is too slow...:( But still, you're so cool!
Hi there again! Thank you very much! I will surely try it out! Thanks!
What do you mean?
I guess Ivan Sánchez Rodrigo mean that he is very excited about this flight sim in VR :)
Very informative, but I laughed my head off. Your a funny guy. Thanks
I prefer the music at the end a lot over the generic electro pop you've been using lately ;)
Hehe thanks Sean :) I know, I probably overused that electro pop lately.. Also, piano music felt more right for a flight sim. Those free music libraries on Epidemic Sound are awesome, wish I had explored it earlier! Cheers
Amazing! Thanks for sharing this!
Cheers mate, hope you will enjoy! :)
How do you relase the brakes in the Cessna in vr? Also why cant we use flight school in vr?
Hello, good evening. You don't know what I make wrong when I activate for example with Shift 4 in a military aircraft the Air-Brake (Hawker Hunter) and the instrument in the cockpit is not visibility? I have the HTC-Vive. Is this something with the Zoom? best wishs Harald (CH)
Can you zoom in on things, like the dashboard for the gauges, without leaning forward in your seat?
And the native vr makes this sim not only the best vr sim, but the best flight sim. Bye bye flyinside, it sucked so much compared to this. You can clearly read all the panel instruments while takin off. Amazing. Thank you sweviver for your review.
Hi SweViver! I am flyin xplane11 with my oculus, if u need some advice for setting up xplane feel free to contact me. There are a lot of improvements out there for u, especially the "Detail" Setup was not perfectly matching your system.
make sure to click search for updates including betas when installing the demo
Jets and Jumbo jets are way more difficult to handle :)
Also the VR interaction with the cockpit really makes it easier to learn instead of remembering keyboard shortcuts and stuff.
Thanks so much for the very helpful replay, Lewis!
Hi can I use a combination of touch controllers for the buttons and switches then my yoke and rudder Logitech controllers to fly?
is there a in-game tutorial for newbies? I would love to see a step by step from start to finish.
Your Content Is Unique, You Are A Great UA-camr
Enzotp60 Torres thank you so much man, Im happy to hear that and I really appreciate it :)
I will give a tour On your channel I know you will not disappoint me, After all, You're Very Good. :)
Thanks again mate, hope u will enjoy 😘
FYI I have the SteamVr reprojection enabled.
5:32 - Ok, but look how close you have to be to read the gauges. It's hard to fly like that. The Rift is no better, unfortunately. 😞
How you can control your pedals?? I think it's the one of the importart part on simulators and controlling aircrafts.
how you got VR working like that? its so smooth! im trying to configure oculus rift with X-Plane 11, but performance is unplayable, all other VR apps works perfectly, pretty much native VR work the same as FlyInside for me, i dont know why, the tracking is horrible, it jumps all the time, i cant control anything normally, and its not graphics issue, it works the same on lowest possible settings, i have 4770k, 2X GTX1070 SLI (useless) 16GB RAM, its not top of the line, but it cant be that bad on my system, its probably Oculus, i see everybody playing it on Vive with no issues...
Check my last video from today, I played it on Rift and metioning my settings :)
hi Martin, are you going to release a top 10 vive/oculus games for 2017 video?
Can you do a VR view with the oculus and controls with regular yoke and the rudder controls?
First of all, great detailed video. Thanks
I am just wondering how I can use my home cockpit yoke and throttle quadrant and still use the VR. I mean I would need 4 hands!!!!
Any idea how to get mirroring in full screen like this? I cant get but a narrower frame with vertical black columns on either side
Hi Guys ,
Please help me..
I am having some issue with vive controllers. When I change X-plane to VR mode, I cannot select anything. I mean I can see the controllers from VR headset ,
but unable to select from the controller . Do u have any suggestions? If I upgrade to vive pro it will work ?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried Aerofly FS2, which also has native vr support ?
Yes, its a great looking flight sim, but unfortunately compared to xp11, Aerofly FS2 feels more like a game in terms of realism and dynamics... but thats just my personal opinion, we are all different ;)
I am on the last millimeters to decide to buy Oculus Rift... Valkyrie, flight simulator and a lot of other cool stuff.
But i am waiting for gloves and/or a vest or a body suits that has pressure actuator or some kind of sensory feedback. I know you can buy some custom very expensive stuff to use with your VR but i want it as a common product.
just imagine how the VR porn is going to be and feel amazing
I promise you, that you will love flight simulators on the Oculus Rift! :) Also the performance has been improved 20-50% in VR the last updates. And yeah, VR p**n is actually quite cool in VR I can admit lol
Cheers man and enjoy!
@@Guds777 vr tenga
Will it work with Saitek yoke, pedals, and throttle quadrant?
Wow , this does look really amazing. Too bad about the framerate , I'll try the demo
How much it cost to have all the stuff that you have? And from where can I buy it?
did you try aerofly 2 in vr? how does it compare to xplane?
Yes but that was quite long time ago. Its great as well and beautiful looking, but I miss the VR interaction with my hands. Thats what makes XP11 so much more realiatic in my opinion. Also XP11 has so much more addon content. But i know a lot of people still prefer Aerofly 2 :) we are all different hehe
when i start xplane 11 in vr the right screen of the vive turns blue. Has anybody an idea why? Can't find anything about that issue
I'm thinking Bout getting a vr flight sim which do you recommend that works better in vr?? X plane or aerofly fs2
If you want to go serious with Flight Simulators, chose the best and most advanced one, and that is X Plane 11 for sure :)
aerofly fs2 hands down
Definitely x-plane 11 is a lot more realistic! Aerofly does look good in VR!
How did you augment yourself into the video, what technology did you use?
Im using a green screen setup and recording it with OBS Studio, using chroma keying, then putting it as a layer above the game image. Its really simple but it requires that you have some kind of green screen background. Check out my green screen room video: ua-cam.com/video/4I2Jlg_f9e8/v-deo.html
Thank you Swe
The best? Try UH1 Huey in DCS. This is a very good one, but definitely not the best.
Did you use a plug in or the vr is inside the game??
And can it work with gear vr??
No there is a new native VR support (beta) added in the Steam version, and also the free demo on official website.
Sorry no idea about GearVR though... cheers! :)
So it will be out in 11.20 right? ( i have x plane 11)
Aviation Gamer X you Can update and check beta version in updater.
Great video man! Can you do one on Vrchat? XD lol
Cut down on the suger, I'm exhausted just watching!
You gonna do a top 10 VR games of 2017?
Ive been planning to do so, but not sure if I will be on time before new year, let's hope :) Still doing my last night shift here at work today...
Imagine pimax 8k with hand tracking module in this game. I read somewhere fly inside has support for it. I hope it works like I imagine it could
Yep its gonna be insane :) True, Flyinside has support but ppl say its glitchy, but I havent tested it myself as i dont have leap motion yet..
Nice, I have been thinking about getting this, do you know if it supports hotas joysticks ?
If u enjoy flight simulators you really should :) Yes, it supports joysticks as well, just like the original non-VR version.
SweViver thanks for the info,
Can you retest now with vulkan support for Oculus Rift.
It looks great!
Yes
does it work on the Rift ?..sorry you did say it
So I don't need to have a yoke/joystick to have fun in VR?
Good preview! I was waiting you to step out and walk around the plane, if possible? :P
Airwayz ArA thanks man, i appreciate it :) Yes you can open the door at any time and teleport out. Not sure if thats possible up in the air though ;)
How do you get it?
I have x plane 11 but how do get it on your phone?
Its only supporting HTC Vive and Oculus Rift VR headsets, not mobile VR...
Sweet Ivor flying into 2018! :)
Oh yes 😀 Seriosuly one of the most immersive moments of 2017 in VR!
Added it to my wishlist m8! - Skint now after Crimbo. lol
Hehe 😁 Its on sale right now btw!
I've only played Elite Dangerous and War Thunder. This game looks cool but I definitely prefer combat flight sims.
what features of cpu, memory ram, video tarjet, etc to be able to play with no problems the simulador on my computer??
As good CPU as possible, especially good single core performance of 4Ghz or higher (Overclocking helps a lot). 16Gb RAM should do it good, but I would not recommend below 16, especially for custom scenery. GPU speed helps a lot if you want to do supersampling, so I would recommend a GTX 1080 or at least a 1070.
Also, have in mind that since I made this video, the performance has increased a lot in XP11 with new updates. Also, check my Performance tutorial video I made about XP11, you will find it on my channel :) Cheers
you need 9th gen i7 and 2080 ti
@@VanillaCremer nah. I have very old i7 2600k, 32 ram and 1070 and it play well in VR.
is this for ios? bc i downloaded x plane but i cant get it to do vr
great video man. I cant get it to work on the non steam version. it keeps crashing
nice !!! please more X Plane movies.. try to fly Boing/Airbus :D
Thanks mate, there will be much more for sure, cant wait to jump into a jet in the sunset over San Francisco :)
Looks like MS flight sim from years ago. Is there joystick support? It's nice that there's native VR control support but IMO the best control scheme for a flight sim is joystick/HOTAS.
millerk20 sure you can still use your Hotas joystick or any joke, rudder and other hardware, just like in the non-VR version :)
millerk20 you Can have x plane looks really Amazing check x plane 11 with ortho4xp and xenviro and w2xp....
those plugins and mods would probably never run in vr unless your pc had four-way titans and a mad overclocked i7 and insane watercooling along with a stupid amount of available data
Lewis Martin actually ortho4xp makes you gain a 10 fps average and x-europe has no impact. Only weather add-ons have impact.
Even if you had 10 way sli titan V that wouldn't help in X-Plane
Quasar weirdly enough for me I had an FPS drastic FPS drop using ortho4xp
it is very Nice !!
