Finally a vid w/ weld-on flares that were done right and didn’t look like garbage when it was done. Great work, I appreciate you walking us through the process while keeping it quick and to the point. Looks so good when you’re done too, you should be proud.

Very very fine work !! Here you have a new SUBSCRIBER !!!
Thank you!!
Looks great! I didn’t want to chop my car up until I watched this
Thanks for watching man!
Amazing work man! Actually the first video showing some decent fenderworks I've come across, and I've been looking at video's for a long time (to get my rocketbunny kit on). But recently I'm leaning more towards metal fenders like these. Is there anywhere I can see this in a finished form, or just some behind and side/behind shots of the car from a distance?
Great work!
Thanks man. I only learn from searching for it myself but could only get so much information. I haven't finished it yet as I still have other work on the car to do before I do some bodywork. Check out @ulteriormotivesshop on Instagram and you can see what the finished product looks like. You'll need a little bit of body filler then your golden! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for putting the steps on UA-cam man
Thanks brother!
Why haven't I found this channel earlier. #Subscribed!.
Thanks Brother!! Appreciate the support!!
@@240Tony I always appreciate good content. Will be shouting you out on Instagram and Facebook soon... Cheers to success on the tube.
@@mr.cangieter8758 😁😁 Thank you!
clean work bro, better than most i've seen on YT. video quality too, short and precise. did you weld in the tubs on the 240sx too? keep it coming.
🙏 Thank you Bro! Yes , the tubs were welded by me also. I will have that video up sometime. Appreciate the support 😁
Cleaned that up sick asfk!
Thanks bro!!
Hey man the work on these flares looks great and I was saving this video when I do my install in the future. I thought there was another video where you showed how to measure and cut the quarter panel for the install?
Thanks bro. There is but I had to take it down due to copyright on some audio. Will be putting it back up thou!
Thanks for video where can I get the same size flares thanks ahead of time
Ulterior motive, you can find them on Instagram! It should have a link to their website!
Where did you purchase these?
Finally seeing someone with actual skills doing this. 95% of the other videos are a joke.
Great work Bud
Thanks brother. Check out ulteriormotivesshop on Instagram. They have many styles of hand made flares!
Nice work, but you should show a zoomed out view of the entire car.
One day brother! When the car is done, hopefully this summer 😁
Question, what is the tool you used to sand and shape the inside edges ! Looks like a tiny belt sander? That would make life so much easier.
Thanks for any reply
Yes, it has a few names but you can try searching for hand belt sander!
You have a shop somewhere? What would this job cost to be done?
Do you have to remember what size these are? I know they offer 2” and 2.5” in most of theirs. Looks amazing, man.
My front were 1.5" but the rear should be 2 inches. You gotta figure out the specs for the rear because the sv2 wont work with the s13 on the rear. The lip will sit way too high.
Just curious how you finished the ends? I ordered these fenders having seen how good they look on other 240s. Just not sure the best method for finishing off the ends of the flare where there would be a small gap between the flare the the chassis
I had to cut a small piece of metal, and close it off. Still gonna require some bodywork. I have yet to get to that stage.
@@240Tony that's what I figured would be in order. Looking forward to your video of finishing it up
very tidy, are you going to lead the seam or just fill over it? either way great result!
Gonna require minor body filler. Thank you!
How do you finish this? Just sand it all down and repaint? I’m trying to figure out whether I could do this all by myself or whether it’s actually worth it to just leave it up to an auto body shop to do… thanks
It will need some minor body filler, you have to shape it perfectly.
Looks good. I wonder how much a body shop would charge me. Bc I can’t weld for the life of me.
Definitely will cost some decent coin. It's a process if you want it done properly
WOW 13k views.. I see you. in my rear view
THAT WAS FUCKING LEGIT
Thanks bro! 👊
Love the work bro! I just have a question.. can you TIG weld over weld through primer? I’ve only seen people Mig using it
Thanks man! No you cannot because once anything like paint/solvent or anything that can burn up, will release a gas which displaces the "Argon" gas that is coming out of your tig torch. Then the heated metal is no longer protected by the Argon so then the molten metal starts to react to it and bubble etc.
@@240Tony ahh ok, I understand now. I just started TIG welding since it's more controllable on body panels.. I just don't know how to protect the panel from rust after you weld on areas that can't spray primer behind. I'm currently fitting a whole new quarter panel for wider wheels
You made or bought those fender wells from online?
I was debating buying some fender wells or weld some on lol… for 2005 dodge magnum rt 5.7l hemi
Look up ulterior motive... they make custom fender flares. You can choose specific size and they will make it for you!
Watching this after watching a few knuckleheads with baseball bats and magazines...
LoL!! Baseball bats technique! Seen that video where they tried to roll a volkswagon quarter panels and the bondo just exploded
Can you list every tool and, equipment and the 2 types of welder, that you used and What kind of epoxy primer and sealer that you used,I also see you used a blue grinding wheel after you used a belt sander, please list everything that you used so I can finally be brave enough to cut my car and get the job done.
Messaged on Ig.
Have you had a chance to make anymore progress on this since the video upload? nice work!
I'm currently just putting it on hold at the moment. A bit chilly where I'm at.
Thanks!
Updates coming in bro!
Something BETTER THAN WELDING without the heat is PANEL BOND!!
Oh yea, that works nice too. I'm considering trying that out for future modifications.
@@240Tony yeah! I like your work, but that panel bond stuff is great. I've used it before and it is amazing!!
what tools/wheels did you use while grinding?
Hand belt sander, 2" roloc sanding disk.
Whats the proper way to pre your self before u begin welding I was told to remove the paint to the bare metal correct
Yes, absolutely remove paint, grease, wax or anything that can burn up and displace your welding gas...
Welding OCD thank you so much I plan to do my rear fenders soon wanted to to know what’s the best way to go with it
@@ivanadmin547 good luck brother! Dont rush it either. Take your sweet time bro.
Welding OCD yeah bro I plan to do it slowly no rush specially with covid I got time to do it right
Welding OCD sorry for so many questions what sanding grip did you use to remove the paint ? Or what did you use to remove the paint if it wasn’t sanding paper ?
Hi mate, amazing job, this is what i want to do on my e46 sedan to have an m3 look, where did you find that fenders with that material? I only found plastic in every website
brand is called ulterior motive
Do you have a link to the flares you're using?
Nevermind, Google works.
Haha. Good luck bro!! You can do it!
I need to know where you got these i have an s13 and im going for demon camber Masahiro style
subbed! good content but seems like you haven't posted in forever :(
Thank You for the support! I will get back on track soon sir!
Dude, you should have "All metal" or "pure metal" worked into your video title cuz most guys these days just stitch weld the flares and use body filler sadly.
I wish bro!! This will still need some light body filler for that smooth surface. Not pro enough like those OGs
Can you just do my car too?
Yea no problem! Come on by, bring a case of beer 😁
@@240Tony stop it😭😭😭
@@PandaFG I'm serious! But if you bring a bottle of crown, it will make me happy 😆
@@240Tony imma cognac kinda guy lol fr depends where you stay at this point
