My wife is totally bewildered as to why I would find this soothing after multiple deployments. I tried to explain to her that the time to be concerned was when it was quiet. The only thing missing were the sound of Vulcan cannons doing a night fire at Bragg.
Former U.S. Marine here. This is actually really helpful for me. I don't know why or how, but this is incredibly relaxing. I used to fall asleep to sounds of artillery barrages in the distance. The ground shook, but for some reason, it was really calming for me. This, through some speakers, is the closest I've come to feeling that again in a long time. Wife isn't a huge fan though.😅
@@Jack02517 Oh I think you misunderstood my comment. It wasnt for bringing back the dead but to create another war just as bad as this in the future is what that quote was for.

It’s only when the guns are on YOU it’s a problem but not long cause then yk you do the thing again…in the distance not really “there” yet. For me anyways.
I imagine it's for similar reasons that distant thunder is calming - it's distant. You are nowhere near where the thunder, lightning, and artillery can hurt you so your body relaxes while it can.
For those wondering It feels soothing because it makes you feel safe and at ease because all the violence is at distance. It gives the anticipation of danger and lower your expectations of a cozy time but then give you some cozy time by putting the danger at a safe distance.
Ok so I’ve listened to almost every war ambience video on UA-cam and this one is the best one, by far. The only thing is that one incoming round that zips by your head makes me pucker every time.
