My first car was a slightly used beige 1970 bug. Never drove a stick shift and had to get it home. 😀 I am a drummer and could actually fit a 4 piece drum set with soft cases in the bug. I have fond memories of that car.
I had a beige ‘68 that looked almost exactly like Gus. I sold it to a girl in California in 1988. Mine was pretty much all original. The crazy thing was that back in the ‘80’s there were VW dealers around every corner in SoCal it seemed…and they still had parts for these beetles!
