I like that you're approaching writing and literature with multiple strands. Writing is a complex skill! And I'm so glad that you're finding our literature guides to be avoiding the "too much" aspect that literature guides can so easily fall into. When I starting writing them, my goal was really to have a guide that will help kids to dive deeper into understanding the story...but not overwhelm with work to the point where reading the book starts to feel like a chore.
I look forward to more middle school level advice, curriculum and suggestions! I am getting close to those grades and I feel like there is not enough info out there

We’re trying CLE for Reading and Language Arts this coming year. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve pondered IEW SSS but think it might still be a little more than my daughter would handle. So we’ll see how this goes for now.
I already purchased the IEW 1A Structure and Style for next year for my 11 year old. Do you think the Redefining School literature course and IEW would be too much to do together? I also have Fix It grammar to add. I don't want to go overboard with adding too much.

Redefining School sounds amazing! We are starting to look more into the live teacher for writing as well.

Hey I'm a new viewer, don't you use CLE aswell? When would you recommend switching from it?
I use CLE with my daughter who is in 2nd grade, it fits her style of learning well. We use CLE for math with all my kids.
