Threatened pine needs to be removed

- This pine was extremely close to the water. So close that the rip-rap that was protecting the shore was all around the base of the tree. The original plane was to bomb the limbs and then just rig a top, but as I went up I realized that some of them I wasn't able to control and needed to be rigged.

I'm glad they are educational. I definitely don't want to ride one down, but it's certainly in the back of my head sometimes
Another really good video. I'm surprised the wind didn't make things more difficult. Not going any higher up than you ere was a wise choice. I half thought you might cut it around thirty feet. Your common sense was apparent in cutting five foot stubs down to the ground.
Thanks. The wind definitely caught the top, but luckily it just rotated it but didn't push it. I probably could have fit half the tree, but I'm a believer in climb high cut small.
Love your videos. You are a boss. I have been climbing for a little over a year. I really appreciate your long form videos. Sure just sending tops is cool and all, no argument there. But, I have learned so much watching how you plan ahead, the choices you make along the way, and how you move in the tree to name a few. Thanks so much for sharing your work.

Random questions on your opinions/experiences on a few things. I like comparing what different people say on things:
1. You seem to favor blocks over rings. Any reason why? No wrong answer here I use both and dont have a favorite yet.
2. cavoite: You probably have addressed this already and I just haven't seen that particular video yet. Any thoughts/opinions/tips on spiking up a tree on a medium/heavy lean?
3. I aspire to have your confidence in spiking up with no climb line above me. I have watched a lot of your videos, you are solid as a rock. I assume the answer is just practice and figure it out for yourself because that is how these things work (I'm not bothered if that is the answer). But any tips on spiking up a straight tree and feeling confident with no line above? Like where is your weight (harness, feet, lanyard, hands)? How hard are you pulling on the lanyard? Do you have any protocols for a gaf out if there is no life line above you (not trying to manifest it into existence like you said:), sorry)? How hard are you leaning into the lanyard? Anything... haha. I have been climbing full time for this past year but have had very little chance for comparison of styles because I work for a small company. I learn a lot from comparing what works for me versus what works for other people.

what kind of fall arrest or safety do you use? Because i notice you dont preset lines? What would happen if you gaff out? Without a life line?
