    Another tip for battery life is to mount a portable charger to the rollbar and connect the gorpo so it's always charging

      This is great. That’s definitely a perfect way to extend your battery life. How long can you run the GoPros with the external battery pack?

      @@AutoFactoryREALIZE you can also just run a 1.3amp capable mini or micro USB cable (no longer than 10ft) and just run it from a car charger to the gopro so it's always charging when the car is on. Then just run it through the headliner or cage for a clean look. But a portable charger will do just the same. I just hate dealing with charge times regardless and rather have a hardline.

    Awesome video, setting up your camera the night before is a great tip. I almost always bring my gopro and
    never record just because I'm like ehhhhh I just wanna drive, then I regret it once I'm at home.
    I was really hoping you'd show how you rig up your foot cam!

    • @AutoFactoryREALIZE
      @AutoFactoryREALIZE  6 років тому +2

      Definitely, and this is just something i figured out on my own for that very reason. Get to track and all you wanna do is drive so you put off installing the camera until later. Next thing you know the event is over 😭

  • @ryancoughlin412

    Need to invest in some better mounts, that ram mount looks tight, what do you recommend for non-sunroof, cage/rollbar-free cars? I usually use a handle bar mount on the passenger head rest legs, or one of those large clip mounts. But they can be noisy. Also great tip to "tune" your settings prior, wish I had done so on my recent trip overseas, the angle was mostly of me(which was good for review purposes), and the exposure was too high so outside view was less than ideal. Awesome video Teddy, love the vibe of the channel thus far.

    6: external mic.
    Sucks when all the GoPro picks up is a bunch of wind noise. I started using a little Olympus external mic and routed it to the trunk near the exhaust, and now the footage is all exhaust noise and limited wind noise

    Lovely little video, as has been said in the comments there are a few options to help extend GoPro battery life, the brunton all day is a good option I have several of these and it allows a single GoPro to run for a good day if not more!
    One thing I would like to know is what audio setup do you have? I saw from this video that you appear to have two lav mics attached to something on the roll bar along side your GoPro, be interesting to know how you don't as your audio sounds spot on in your other videos.

    • @AutoFactoryREALIZE
      @AutoFactoryREALIZE  5 років тому +1

      Thanks! Will have to look into the Bruntons.
      All audio as of now is straight from the GoPro Hero 5, have not yet had the chance to test out the mic above the roll bar, but definitely curious to hear the results.

    • @RollingWheelsUK
      @RollingWheelsUK 5 років тому

      @@AutoFactoryREALIZE they are quite useful bits of kit, if you have the older hero 3/4 as I do then they clip on to the back of the housing meaning fully water proof. They can also be used with the newer hero 5/6/7 but require you to mount them next to or near the GoPro and use the USB lead to charge them.
      Was curious to see what setup you use for the audio as in the last I use a mix of either a Zoom H4n mounted on the roll bar with the gain set to a specific setting or a Rode stereo video mic connected straight into the GoPro but this can be a fairly bulky setup. I did try using a lav mic and H1 or iPhone but found this to be difficult again to mount.

    • @AutoFactoryREALIZE
      @AutoFactoryREALIZE  5 років тому

      Yeah, I’ve tried using a rode mic connected to an iPhone running garage band, but it’s really not ideal for when you’re at the track already stressing about the driving and getting on track. Definitely need to figure something out as streamlined as possible.

    9:15 OKAY THATS PURE BULLSHIT....People, shoot at maximal resolution which your camera alows you with minimal framerate of 60!!!!!. Maximal resolution must be natural. If your cameras natural resolution is 2.7 but is alows you to shoot 4k, use 2.7 instead (In that case 4k is fakely calculated from lower res) YOU WANT AS HIGH FRAMERATE AS POSSIBLE while maintaining AT LEAST 1080p, so quick camera movement wont be blurred. So if your camera alows you to shoot 4k with 60fps which is NATURAL resolution, use this setting and then render it in 1080p with maximum bitrate or just use that footage and straight upload it. The final product will be much better and without lags and blurred moments even if you see that in 1080p on youtube

    nice! it wont look like im driving in heaven anymore! One thing i noticed your iso limit is 400. my session is preset to 1600. whats that even mean

    • @AutoFactoryREALIZE
      @AutoFactoryREALIZE  6 років тому

      ISO will make your video “brighter” at the expense increasing noise (that colorful static you can see on the video) thereby lowering the image quality. If you’re doing a night event, then go ahead and bump that ISO up, but during a day event you can achieve the best quality results by keeping the ISO set as low as possible. You can keep it at 800.

    • @m1northreat
      @m1northreat 6 років тому

      Rad thanks teddy!

    • @apertureonfirephotography4795
      @apertureonfirephotography4795 4 роки тому

      ISO is the sensitivity of the sensor. The higher the ISO number the more sensitive to light it is. Great for low lighting but will decrease image quality from noise. Lower ISO you get really good quality video but make sure you have a lot of light. Same works for old film but they're done in ASA rating.

      The GoPro can offer some pretty crappy quality audio, we’ll be making a video about that as well. Most of our videos use the in-cam audio but when we have the time we do sometimes use an external recorder and shotgun microphone. What you can see attached to the roll bar next to the camera is a special stereo mic we are going to be testing out so we will report on that when we get some results!
