This was an extremely interesting one to watch. I was heavily invested throughout. I don't understand why people skip parts of a video. If I click on a video, I am going to watch it from start to finish. I haven't skipped parts of a video I click on EVER. This is both physical and mental work. I can only offer respect to you guys because this is hard work. I would be hella annoyed if a video I work on for so long doesn't get the right amount of traction or people skip parts of it. I'd be pretty pissed off by that. The fact that you keep going is commendable. I personally wouldn't have the attention span to edit a video like that. I'd give up in the first five minutes lol. All of that being said I am sure you love doing this and will continue to do so. Really appreciate the hard work and dedication you put in the videos. Thank you! On top of that you take the time to read, like and reply to every comment no matter if it's youtube, instagram or facebook.
In Resolve, if you select all the audio clips > right click > auto align clips > based on waveform, it will automatically sync all the audio. Super easy and will save lots of time.
A really good insight to what it takes to edit your work and thus appreciate why other youtubers have what effectively consists of a full production company. Also loving the perfect irony here, in that a video made for explaining how the editing process works on a ten minute video, ends up with this video which takes nearly 4 times as long. ps overlaying yourself in a soft edged box is much kinder on the eyes, others should do this and I hope they copy you.
WOW!!! A lot of work that most of us, as subscribers, have no understanding of the time allocated to the production of your videos that we welcome and enjoy. Thanks to you and Adrian for this production insight. We look forward to all future productions knowing how time-consuming it is to deliver informative videos about cars, people, driving and the fantastic footage of the world's best race track - the Nordschleife & Nurburgring F1, along with footage of APEX and it's great team. Firstly thank you for such an informative and genuinely educational video. Secondly, I can relate to the hard work, time & effort to create, edit, publish & promote your content. And Thirdly on your final point, I genuinely understand how much of a challenge putting out consistant content can be, as Running a small digital record label and coordinating its media content, as well as trying to keep on top of putting my own gaming content. Appreciate this video on your process! I've been going back and forth on my own driving channel, and this helped validated some of my workflow, and also improved it some. Thank you for all you do!
wow great to see the workflow. i know there is soo much time in production and editing. much respect !!! thank you for the great content ! side note, you mentioned rear facing cam's on fast cars, personaly i'd like the rear facing cam on slower cars aswell to see the traffic oncomming.

I've seen some of AutoAddiction recording process where he's using a notebook to scribble down what happened when during continuous day recording. That alone would drive me nuts.
That was really interesting to watch. I'm relatively new to content creation myself and seeing your process has given me some ideas to ramp up my own production quality. Sadly I only have 25 subscribers at the moment but hopefully that will grow!

Brilliant thank you so much enjoy your videos and hope you are doing well. I have just rewatched your First time around the ring. Thank you again Tristan
This is commitment ! I couldn't afford to spent 10hours of time to make a 8min video beside my main job for nothing in returns (views doesn't pay until you're on a big scale). This is definitely not a job for everyone. -_-
Thanks a lot for this great inside!!! Also planning to start a bit of a channel and share some race track and car passion. Shows that it won’t be easy but I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, we can find the time to meet up and you can have a try in my G87 which will eventually be converted into a track car😇
great video, I started my own channel to share my car projects a month ago and I also use Davinci, although I'm a lot slower than you at editing! ps, how did you blur out around the video of you speaking near the end, cheers
Misha, that’s why I contribute. Fully understand the effort and time. That’s why I’m a Pancake! As we say here in the north of England, you don’t get owt for nowt. Just all you nay sayers and passengers in UA-cam viewer world need to support people that provide excellent content like Misha and (Adrian in the background). As an aside Misha - First world problems. 😢
Just a verry stupid question about the mounting of the rear camera, because your comment with stretching weirdly to the back if you dont have doors reminded me of how my father was struggling to clean the rear window and was surprised when he saw me casually doing so: why dont you just flip open the trunk in a hatchback like this instead of trying to reach the window from the inside? :D
Because when I can mount the camera from the inside, I can see on the screen how the image looks like. If the wiper or defrost wire is not in the way, if it's tilted properly etc.
I have to say that the intro to your 24 hours video killed it. I almost stopped watching it because of the intro. Did your UA-cam data show this? Also, this video finally convinced me to become a "member." Being a UA-camr is easy! LOL Hope you're having a great weekend.
Can you expand a bit more on how you sync the videos. After you've set up and turned the cameras on, you snap your fingers twice, and then, while editing, use the sound of the snaps to line them up manually? Or does your software sync them based on the section (snaps) you selected?
@Misha Charoudin okay thanks for confirming. I wasn't sure because your process is way different from mine. My software doesn't show the audio signature (visually) unless isn't music or just an audio file. I have to sync videos purely visually. You seem to do a lot of editing based on that audio signature...cool method. I describe what I thought you were doing and was looking for confirmation. I guess I got it right. Sorry for asking a "dumb" question. I can tell you've been editing for some time based on how fast you put those clips together. Thanks for showing your progress, and what software you use...not many UA-camrs do that.
Hi Misha, i follow you since a long time now it's always a pleasure to watch your videos. I am in a big dilemma, I hesitate between a polestar 2 performance and a M340i touring... I tested both vehicles and despite their opposition I find them both fantastic. Knowing that it's maybe the last hour to drive a legendary engine for the last time, I'm leaning towards a last dance lap in an M340i... What do you think about it ? I'm 37 years old and I'm passionate about cars since my early 20's. Thx for your answer :-) cheers from switzerland
Was interested in what camera you used for the speedo/tacho because of the short distance for focus but couldn't understand that part. Also what suction pads were used.
I run a facebook group for car enthusiast based group drives around the San Francisco Bay Area. I do videos of our drives and find the video production part very tedious. We know how much time you put into the track videos. How much of your time is helping out at Apex? How involved are you in the day today, etc?
Cool, I always wondered how you do it. Oh, btw., as for time consumption, what about grooming, to appear pleasant on the video for us superficial f*cks 🤣🤣 13:54 haha. I wish I had armies of invested haters boosting my channel 😁 Regarding your later comments about viewer sensitivity: people will just find things to criticise, because they need to criticise. It's their shortcoming, not yours - you just happen to stand in the spotlight, so like everyone else in the spotlight, you're a target. Know (and I think you already do) that you are doing fine by those of us with working intellect and heart. I've never seen you act improper all the time I've been watching you. Concentrate on the 99% positive feedback, not the 1% negative. Keep on trucking mate 💪💪
Misha do you still work, full time to Apex ? You already have my respect for youtube, racing etc, but keeping all this plus the full time job at apwx is not easy......
What I would like to know is how much you made in a year from UA-cam alone, divided by the hours spent. Hourly wage is how you can compare to a regular job. A private question, so I don't expect an answer.
It's a really tough question to answer to its precision. I know the exact number made, but it would be impossible to pinpoint the exact amount of hours put into it. Also, I may be making a "comfortable" amount of money out of it, but I've been doing UA-cam since 2014, daily since 2016. Until mid-2017, I wasn't making more than 100-200/month off it. Until the end of 2020 it was around 1000-2000/month. So if we take the early years into account, I'd be far better off "making a career". Would I be having more fun? Definitely not.
