I was in Fuels for 3.5yrs active, 7yrs ANG, Desert Storm vet. Mobile, hydrants, lab, and accounting. Fueled every type of aircraft -- fighters, bombers, cargo, helicopters, AF, Army, Navy, Marine, allied a/c, Air Force 1, you name it. F-16 hot pit refueling in the UAE. Cargo jet fueling is long and boring. Fighters you're always on the go, knock out two birds, fill up, get back out there. You're a flightline hero. Best job ever!
Back in my day (1980-83), my AFSC was 63150, fuels management specialist. And we drove old, Vietnam era GMC R-5 refuelers that carried 5,000 gallons of JP-4. And they were painted school bus yellow back then, too.
You really love what you do and very good at what you do. All of your videos are so good. If I were a few hundred years younger I would join! LOL. I always wanted to join the service but being female Daddy sad no and that was that. Go figure. Good luck my dear friend. Loves
Been looking for a life changing career being a civilian guy wanting to enlist. I’m currently working on my weight and reviewing my mechanics and general areas in the ASVAB. I really like what you have to say about this job in Air Forcr nothing but positive thoughts
Hey love your videos, sad to see that there isn't any recent videos but i guess you must be swamped with work. I had a question, do you get BAH or any housing allowance while in BMT and/or Tech school for a married person? and also When do you get to live with your family (if married) on base or off base? Is it after Tech school or what? Thank you in advance! Keep up the good work. Much love from Puerto Rico
What up man. I'm in the air force as well. Been in for 17 years. Good information you going out. maybe we can work together on future things. I'm building up my channel and want to interview and talk to different people from certain special duty career fields.. We could do something on zoom if you interested and vice versa. Im ammo and could give valuable insight on what i do..
Ha in the Navy you do all these task all the time. I was lucky to get into TAFS systems, used by Marines and AF. The worst thing in Navy they given all these fuel jobs to civilian employees
It depends on where you are needed and where you have not been yet. They ideally want you to do them all so when you are in charge of a whole shop one day you have the experience of everything.
I have this job! I’ve been trying to look online but can’t really find a straight or clear answer but what Job titles or company’s is this setting me up for once I get out of the Airforce after hopefully serving 20 years and after that go into Civilian life?
Check the airports regional or major, look a fuel trucks name company and look them up, a lot of them love ex military, plus US Jobs since the navy made most of these job’s civil service
So the fuels tech school is only 31 days long? And is there another school after that for the specific job in fuels you get or is that it after the 31 day tech school?
Can you make a video about switching recruiters? I’ve been dealing with my local recruiter that gave me one chance to get over a 50 on the ASVAB (I scored a 38) and he said after he cannot do anything but I’ve watched multiple videos saying there is no limit to how many times you can take the ASVAB. I also contacted another recruiter not to far from my location and she said I need to go back and contact my local recruiter to test again.
I spoke to my recruiter not too long ago and he said after taking the test you have to wait 30 days to take it again. You can take it up to 3 times,Which sucks, but if I’m correct after the 30 days your eligible to test again if you want. And if you want to test a 3rd time you have to wait 3 months to take it! Don’t quote me or the recruiter because it could be false info but that’s what I was told this Wednesday!
I’m shipping for this job next week. Does this job consist of a lot of driving or more so fueling the vehicles? Is this considered POL? Also, I’m still getting used to driving (just graduated high school), any tips please?
Driving and fueling aircraft, yes it’s POL. Just stop if you’re uncomfortable and always know where the brakes are. Seriously don’t push yourself. It’s really easy to drive the big trucks. Just take your time learning too. They will have training for you.

How you’re liking it still?
@@curryglocc4788 It's a 24 hour operation, but the 3 work shifts. Generally a 40 hour work week.

Same for me. R-5's and R-9's. Big Yellow! Mogas was an R-8 truck and I think the Diesel truck was a C300. Also went to Chanute Tech School.

Yes the comradery in Fuels is as great as it gets. Like it is for cops and firemen. The equipment today is more hi-tech for sure.
Just went to PMT after spending 2.5 years at the cryo plant on Kadena. Wouldn't trade it for the world. Great experience to have!
Kevin J Vargas lol no but after so long in one building it’s def a nice change of pace.
damn you’ve sold me. maybe this could transfer to space exploration too?
I thought that it was water treatment

Huh. You said you can do different jobs in fuels. Does that depend on rank? Or just time wanting to do different task in that area?
It depends on where you are needed and where you have not been yet. They ideally want you to do them all so when you are in charge of a whole shop one day you have the experience of everything.

You have to take the actual asvab and your line scores determine your job.
Do officers work this field too or is it only enlisted?
Justin they work with and over us as Logistics officers. But their area of operation covers our job and many more.

Is JbLackland in san antonio an option for fuels ?
No, but another base in San Antonio, Randolph AFB has fuels personnel.
What kind of security clearance is needed for this job
Used to be just "secret." Which means, "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you." 😊😂😂
