Jon Bon Jovi opened a community restaurant up call "Soul Kitchen" The restaurant encourages patrons to pay or donate as much as they are able for a three-course American-style meal.
IMHO those who reach celebrity status and go back to give back to their hometown, schools, parks, and especially kids. Great PR. Any artist or person of influence who can and does contribute above and beyond is a compassionate, caring person.
You can also volunteer your time for your meal also. Everyone is welcome & the food is made by a high class chef. Jon Bon Jovi is an awesome philanthropist ♥️ xx
If you couldn’t tell, the “backup singer” in the cowboy hat was actually just as good if not a better singer than Jon was. And while Jon hurt his voice, he can still sing just as well as he used to.
Awesome video Ty, I had never heard their acoustic version of either song, 👍 Ritchie always had a great voice too, he and Jon's voices always blended so nicely, 😀😀
Both Bon Jovi and Sambora sing in perfect harmony. Yes Jon is a good straight up guy and we’re happy to have him still give us fans beautiful music. Appreciate the heartfelt review.
Ya really got to watch the originals. Everyone in that band was extremely talented. We had to cover a lot of Bon Jovi back in the day. If you were in a hair metal / glam rock cover band, you know what I'm talking about.
So glad you enjoyed this performance, I remember it like it happened yesterday, it’s a class performance by Jon and Richie, just top notch classic!🤟🥰 gotta to do more Bon Jovi, how about It’s My Life and Keep The Faith!
This is indeed a GREAT performance by both of these artists, and it's nice hearing an acoustic version of these songs, but I would STRONGLY encourage you to listen to the originals of both songs. They actually played most of "Wanted Dead or Alive" but they only did like the first verse and chorus of "Livin' on a Prayer" and that song is TOO awesome to not have heard all of it! I'd also like to add as suggestions, "Blaze of Glory", "It's My Life" and "Always". (Also all by Bon Jovi.)
Yes sir so far Jon Bon Jovi has not been caught up in any drugs. And I saw this performance live on TV and was knocked back! He is also a great humanitarian. Has opened a restaurant and if you can't pay the meal u won't be denied you just have to help with cleaning etc.. to pay it off. Also recently started a meals program for college students in need of meals.
@@richsmbr1544 Well this was over a year ago so I can't remember if I was drunk or not when I wrote this, I either meant to say that version of bed of roses, or more likely their excellent cover of the Beatles song "a little help from my friends" a version I love. But yeah I got muddled up there somewhere.
I saw this live. I can't quite believe it was 30 years ago. A little background: This was partly a reaction to the Bananarama Scandal of them touring to a recording. Jon and Richie wanted to show that in an age of highly produced studio albums it was possibly to still go on stage and perform live without electronics. This performance gave MTV the idea for MTV Unplugged which would go on to have so many fantastic performances.
I needed this tonight. Honey your calming and inspiring personality paired with this off the chain video brought me out of a bad week of deep depression. This video went to my old rock and roll soul and brought the old familiar energy that brought a smile to my soul and face. Thank you honey. Have a blessed rest of the week and thank you for what you do on here. Much LOVE from middle Tennessee.

I dont just love this because of how much I love both Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora, but because it literally made what became MTV’s Unplugged. The performance was different, & a dicey roll for them, & the accolades that followed gave MTV the idea to Unplug other bands to see their salt, & what they are capable of without a studio sound. Love this always, it’s dear to my heart.
This is the acoustic version that they did for MTV. Jon and Richie were barely speaking. Jon didn't want to do it at all. What they started was the seed for the MTVUnplugged series. Bon Jovi has been with me since Runaway from when I was a sophomore in high school till this day.
Fun fact, my brother in law is Jon's doppelganger. Been a fan of Bon Jovi since their first played song Runaway...you should check it out along with Jon's song for movie Young Guns......Blaze of Glory 🙏. Also to you're wife Ted Nugent (motor City madman) never did drugs nor drink his whole life. And not 💯 but I think Alice Cooper didn't do drugs. They're alot out there just have to look em up. Thanks Ty for your work.
They were IT around the time I graduated high school! Along with White Snake! Me and me best friend had their posters on our walls and ceiling! Loved their songs and loved looking at them too! 😊😉😛 ❤️🤘🏼✌️
I was blown away when I first heard Richie sing. I actually prefer Richie's vocals to Jon's. I encourage you to check out Richie's solo stuff. Rosie is a great choice. Lots of soul in his voice.
Actually Jon and Richie inspired the MTV unplugged sessions. They were requested to do acoustic version of those two songs and it was such a hit MTV went on to get loads of people/bands to do unplugged versions. And it didn’t seem clear in the video but Richie was the lead guitarist and co-writer for bonjovi from 1984 until after 2010 when he left the band.
I just found out this music reaction thing is a thing! I love it but I usually only watch yours because you don't use any bad language. Thank you for that! Great too hear these 2 songs done in such a simple acoustic version, TY for reacting too it..John Bon Jovi a great example too all musicians as too how to remain humble when such a huge star..still married too his love since school and still living a great life..more power too him

I always recommend listening /watching the studio versions first and then live. Especially when it’s new to you. 💛✌️ Great reaction though.
Used to watch this series called "Everybody Hates Chris" based on Chris Rock's childhood. The last show of the series ends with he and his family sitting at a table at a diner singing "Living on a Prayer." I can't hear this song without thinking of that.
Love bon jovi. He has a restaurant in n.j. and if anyone is hungry they can eat .free.yes they can help with dishes .clean up.he turns no one away.what a good humanitarian.
I just watched a music video you need to check out, especially if you love gospel music. The song, God Only Knows, is performed by the gospel group, King & Country and Dolly Parton.
Wasn't that awesome. As soon as they premiered it I was on pins and needles...everyone assumed it was her in the vlogs. By far my favorite version of the four different takes
