Cool😻 i did not own one album back then but a friend had an extra ticket andwe saw ELO in 77playing in that ol spaceship.
The first albums I ever listened to Larry was when I was eight years old at my friends house,he had a record player and we listened to his older brothers records and so these were also the first albums I listened to by these bands, they were Twist and Shout by the Beatles,Surfing USA by the Beach Boys and Meet The Searchers by the Searchers, three great albums. Bob
Great video Larry. I have never given The Velvet Underground much of a listen but I really love the song Pale Blue Eyes.
The US Rubber Soul album was my first Beatles listen. Bought the 2014 CD in high school in 2019 and never looked back
Great list and topic Larry! I’m just using your list. Some of mine were in my Dad’s collection, some from older siblings collections of friends and the rest were by chance or recommendation from magazines, etc.

The first Rock n Roll album I ever listened to in its entirety was Not Fragile by Bachman Turner Overdrive. Before that, I had a sister that was into The Beatles, K -Tell, The Jackson 5 and Bobby Sherman.
My first LPs I heard & bought was Bowie Alladin same sladest ,Slade Alice Cooper billion dollar babies & electric warrior t- rex. Still a fan.
I can’t get over the amount of debut albums you bought upon release, without knowing anything about the artists except what you read, and they all turned out to be classic bands. I would be interested to know if there were any debut albums you bought upon release where the band fizzled out or that you didn’t like the album even after repeated listens. I don’t think I ever bought an album by an artist I didn’t know without first listening to it. I had two of my friends’ older brothers and a neighbour as my sources for new music. I would give them a blank cassette and they were more than happy to oblige me…..actually one of them would let me borrow his albums 👍🏽
A strong emotional bond can be formed with these first ones, even if they are not the best of the band. For me, these are e.g. Genesis’ ... And Then There Were Three…, Yes’ Going for the One and Wings’ Red Rose Speedway.
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful weekend
This is a great video. I just might borrow this idea for one of my videos. Our history of when, where and how we heard something for the first time is a very important blueprint into understanding a person's unique taste in music.
Can you do a list of albums or artists that you used to love but now hate?
I don't hate any albums I used to love. I've already talked about bands I loved that I no longer care for, such as U2. Thanks.
Why on earth have you been De - monetized? I find your probably the least offensive music reviewer ( along with Mike Jerant ) on You Tube. Have they not seen Beato ranting on Blockers? or Andy Edwards ranting on Minstrelsy?
I'll have to check out those videos... I am posting a new video today on my channel regarding an update, so please make sure you are subscribed. Thank you.
You’re coming up with great ideas for videos Larry 👍🏼
I agree. One of my recent faves. 💁🏻♀️
