    How exciting! This is like back in the 60s and 70s where computers were the size of rooms. Just a matter of time before I can hold a quantum computer in my hand.

      But cooling systems still would be very large. You can have quantum computer in hand even now. Cooling is the real problem.

    This technology reminds me of the challenge to get Fusion energy controlled and make electricity. ITER is a bit more expensive and its time table much longer but both can change the world if they can get them to work in a real sense.

    Photonic accelerators already exist now, and the creator mentioned that it was natively compatible with quantum computers. This means we can have photonic graphics cards for our quantum sim universe.

      I suspect those dilemmas are not computational. We can get logical answers, but humans, as we know it, we will not accept that.

    we all know what the universe looks like from our superposition of indecisive states. now we can observe the border and whats just beyond the ever expanding machine that makes our super position exist. its like a rssian nest egg doll in essence we are looking at the outside of our universe expanding by building one of these "computers" colder and deeper vacuum

      The baseline temperature of outer space, as set by the background radiation, is 2.7 kelvins (−270.45 °C; −454.81 °F) That means they need 0.0108 kelvins (-273.1392 °C, -459.65056 °F) to run the computer.

    I theorized for and co-designed Google and IBM's quantum computers in the 1970s to 80s when I was still prolific genius kid. Oh, I knew I co-own the planned tech giants that time: Google, Yahoo, Facebook, IBM, Intel, AMD, TSMC, ASML, and Nvidia, while already co-owning Apple and Microsoft. But alas, I was betrayed in those tech ownerhips.

      yes you can represent 8 different states with 3 bits. But the difference here is that you can perform parallel computation on 3 qubits in superposition of 8 states. So you can manipulate all 8 states with one pass instead of 8 for a classical bit.

    Same things they were saying When they make computer using vaccum tubes 100 Years Ago that you Can not use it on your lap because it is too big But now you know where it can fit.
    Same may apply on quantum computer.
    One Day every mobile will use quantum Processor.

    This will also make gaming graphics absolutely real world. You won't be able to tell the difference between a game and the real world. Of course quantum computers will quickly take over the world but as their slaves we'll have great games.

      Quantum computers are very powerful, but graphics rendering isn't exactly their forte. They'll act more like an extension of existing classical computers and work in tandem.

    They don't answer what problem exactly they solved in 3 minutes and 20 seconds that would take 10,000 years on a digital computer. They don't say how long it takes to process 2^53 states. The lack of specifics troubles me. They don't even explain what the graph that went "below" where it was supposed to go was all about. This video is all hype and no specifics. If this thing actually worked, every single cryptocurrency would crash the next day. Banks would go offline. We'd all have to stop buying things online. Encryption would be broken.
