I recommend buying an "Odakyu Hakone Free Pass" if you are visiting this area and the other area like Lake Ashi which I'm uploading on Sunday. Because each ride including this cable car and other is pretty expensive if you buy the ticket separately. If I remember correctly, cable car staff were handing out something just in case you start feeling sick because of the smell. I forgot what it was. Maybe plastic bag? so you can throw up in there? I forgot. But it really is stinky! 😄

Yes. Autumn is a great season to visit Hakone. If you feel cold, there are a lot of hot spring to enjoy on your way back.
