as an american living in the Appalachians, I can verify that bears do get that big. Grizzly bears are VERY big.

We take fishing as an example here to talk about one of the many features of the game: Blueprints. In order to unlock some objects/tasks you will have to explore the world of Among Trees to find blueprints scattered around the map. The object on the blueprint will then be available for crafting in your cabin on the crafting station. The fishing rod is one of the example of many blueprints you will find in game.
So u need a fishing rod
that is a very accurate size for a bear, especially living in the middle of north america

The flickering fog while you fish, is the height fog interacting with the postpross fog which is behind, note that it does it when the fog changes colour as the sun goes down, it goes from white to orange then blue.

Fishing did take awhile to figure out for me as well. I really like the way they do it now that I figured it out but at first it was aggravating.

@@cathyjenkins5985 i just cast as far as I can then hold the left mouse button. when/if a fish bites keep the button held down. Point the tip of the pole in the opposite direction the fish is going. do it with care and keep the bar in the meter between the lines. If the fish goes left pole tip goes right.....it doesnt' take much so be gentle. The movement of the pole tip is what makes line tension not the reeling in with the mouse button.
@@Blaze_1961 Thanks for that info! I'll try that....I was trying to adjust the tension by reeling & then stop reeling as well as move the fishing pole in the opposite direction of the fish. Your way sounds better.

Bears actually get that big. I've seen one from far away before at yellow stone and even at a further distance, it looked huge.

I guess it might be a grizzly bear but when they show it up close, it looks like a black bear. Grizzlies are built like tanks and their claws are as long as your fingers. I wonder if you had food in your pack, you can escape but not your pack.

pretty sure that yellow and green grass that's usually around the bear is the "tall grass"that you can hide in in order to creep whilst around the bear
If you reel the line in once you throw it, you'll catch them faster. I've found that if you cast it a bit behind the blip in the water, reel it in over where it was, it is much faster than waiting. :) I thought it was a bug too 😂 but I think its intentional

Glad you got past the bear. Mine killed me, apparently you need cloths with camo to sneak past him but he only walks around where you are trying to walk. But the catch is you need the fishing rod to get fish bones to make the cloths....
I've tested something, if you don't move when you see the bear, the bear won't attack and if you crouch into yellow grasses near the it won't see your moves.
I really like the colour scheme and atmosphere of this game
