Wind Man and Knight Man from this game were the first robot masters designed by non-Japanese persons, as part of a contest. It's pretty cool to see their original designs and how the team "Mega Man-ified" them. I wonder what concept I would come up with myself... maybe Music Man? It shoots musical notes.

The kid who designed Knight Man never actually got around to playing Mega Man 6 but he did get a sweet wall clock out of the deal.
Also, The kid who designed Crystal Man and Dust Man, Yusuke Murata, grew up to become a Manga illustrator and a couple of the things he worked on were Eyeshield 21 and One Punch Man.

This song, along with Tomahawk Man's theme, are my two favorite tracks in what's otherwise my favorite NES Mega Man soundtrack. :D

Mega Man 6 had a wonderful soundtrack. This is a fun first Robot Master and stage to go through, I found.

Never realized before how Chinese the design looks. Do we know the name of the kid who did this design? Is he/she Chinese, or did the team at Capcom add the Chinese touches?

It was designed by an American named Michael Leader and his original design did not have any Chinese influence, so it came from Capcom. According to Wind Man's wiki: "Wind Man is believed to represent China. Within Taoist philosophy and worldview, it is believed that qi or life force is akin to flowing forms like the wind, and is studied in Chinese arts like its flow in the environment in feng shui (literally "wind water") and the study of breathing in qigong. The queue on his head and the raimen ("thunder pattern") meander on his head and belt could further support this."
