not really, and the one navvaro used wasnt a 59' sunburst. slash used it much more consistantly. and also he had one in every video they shot and at every gig. the other guys used an array of guitars. he used les pauls excusivly througought the mid-late 80's. he uses them for 75% of the stuff he plays by this day. thats why he is so well recognised and matched with the les paul.
well i think at the time the la music scene was one of the biggest scenes so slash's quote was aimed at a big music scene in general. anyhow lets say that a select few were playin f les pauls at the time but slash;s influence was the biggest.
Ha ha - I bet - and all those bursts were Tokai's right? ;) P.S. I've played one of the bursts in this trailer, it plays like butter and sounds amazing.
u didnt have to look it up cause knew what his les paul was. however that model was based on a 59' les paul. and slash's quote stands because janes addiction werent that big yet when they came out. guns made it much sooner in contrast to JA. and even even if dave did paly it sometimes in the clubs he wasnt the one who gave rebirth to the les paul. several guitarists say they use the les paul cause f slash, one of them being billy from the cult who switched to one after seeing slash play it
unlike slash, i don't think dave navarro has ever influenced a gen y guitar player to pick up a les paul. sure, he may have played one in the 80's, but that doesn't really carry a lot significance in the popularity of the les paul today.
dude slash was the only 1 using it as his main guitar through the 80s! cmon i mean guys like adrian smith and mick mars were know for using fenders and ace frehley was from the 70s. and btw zakk was kinda of 90s and not 80s so much.
Zakk Wylde has been playing Les Paul’s and with Ozzy since the 80s. Slash didn’t start using Les Paul’s until 1987 for the Appetite for Destruction. recording which was a replica. Prior to that you can see Slash performing with BC Rich guitars.
Thanks for playing Peter and Danny for the background music!

Max Baranet is the guy that build the 59 replica slash record AFD right? is he still making replicas??
No

The 59 les paul has a way to go to catch what the Hammer Stradivarius violin brought @ auction ($3.5M)
hey .. new video at 'the1959burst' ! ! !
@woogiehead. over-rated, no. over-priced, a bit. Everyone ought to own one, HELL YEAH!!!
This bubble's gonna burst (no pun intended).

He didn't use an epiphone.... but he didn't use a Gibson either ;)

Bullshit. We renamed this the $750,000 Les Paul. You Tube cheated us.
joe perryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
i have a joe perry boneyard les paul but a love a 59
They make it sound like a modern one to the same specs wouldn't sound and play damn close to a vintage one. Might not be the same , but close
Why the fuck would they ask the opinion of Les Paul, Billy Gibbons, Rick Nielson and a 'Slash Lookalike'?
275$ at the time... golden balls for Gibson these fuckers makes us work like slaves to own one of these beauties...
billy never uses just one guitar on any song .. 'pearly gates' is on there ..
the 'Slash lookalike' was cheaper
It makes me sick hearing people talk about guitars like they're some kind of currency...
hahah that not the real slash.. because slash had another hat and a nosepiercing.. so ther are f****d up
