    • @poolkrooni
      @poolkrooni 9 років тому

      Why are you bringing in heavy weights? I'm saying whatever the weights (as he is recommending light weights for an explosive exercise, as it should be) but WITH proper form. Which he lacks. And there's never an excuse for it other than the athlete's lack of respect for it.
      As to the last part.. Just because we've seen big guys give horrible advice, doesn't mean we ought to just tolerate it and let it slide. "Oh, he's big and muscular.. he obviously knows how this lifting thing works"... Sigh.

    Even though ive only seen him in small parts Terry Crews has always been one of my favorite actors, the guys hilarious and plays his roles well. Then to see him as himself like this shows that he seems to also be a really cool guy in general, you can tell he was putting an effort into making sure he passed on good knowledge in this video instead of just using it as an extended ad for the movie.

    I am glad he said to use very low weight or rather just the bar. People please, and I mean the majority of gym members, just take this footage as a piece of entertainment. The things he is doing require 110% control over you body, total strength and a LOT of experience. Stick to your usal workout routines with nice, slow and clean form. If you want to do what Terry is doing you gotta first build up your body and stretch as much as possible to minimize the risk of snapping your muscles. Peace out, an actually caring viewer.

      nah, its the pre warm up to get you ready for the warm up, which gets you ready for the pre work out so you can be ready for the work out and has a post work out which consists of a 60 minute cool down exercise by running up hills, but its okay because you walk back down, backwards, on your hands, with ankle weights

    Love this cat but @ 2:12 when he says use a close grip that is BAD BAD BAD. Using a grip that is closer than shoulder width will cause your shoulders to rotate inwards upon lifting the weight to your chin and over time will cause some serious snap action and shoulder tendonitis.
    His form on the upright rows is terrible too :\ Completely bending down and hopping back up using momentum to bring it up.

    No ab days? or does he do abs on weekend? Im curious because i have a lower back problem and one of the only workouts i can do without burning my back too much is specific ab crunches, but i do this everyday. I know your supposed to have 48 hours rest between working out regions, but i heard somewhere its ok to do abs daily. Is this true? is it ok to only have 24 hours rest between ab workouts?

    • @GalliantWarrior
      @GalliantWarrior 10 років тому +1

      From what I'm aware of, you can get away with doing Abs and Calves every day, because they are made to withstand that. Other muscles of your body you should give the rest you are talking about.

    • @LukeSparrow221
      @LukeSparrow221 10 років тому +2

      You can indeed work your abdominal region (also called the "core") every day.
      I personally don't do it though, because that can end up getting your abs looking disproportionate to the rest of you body.
      In fact, when you do the type of training Terry Crews describes here, there's no need to even do any abs workout. This is because these exercises also work the core. A lot of exercises do in fact.

You need a good "core" foundation to begin with for these sets of exercises. I do kettlebell workouts for my core. The Turkish Getup is my fav love/hate exercise.

    I love this guy. He seems like he is down to earth and hardworking. Some people on here are complaining about his form. He was a professional athlete. That is how he was taught to train for football and he was very good at what he did. He is not a personal trainer.

    Exactly, Mr. Crews, "use lighter weights"! He's a monster and he can throw that much weight around. Those exercises would be great with light weight to prevent injury. Great motivational video with nutrition included. Very helpful.

    Terry's got it right. Great exercises to develop power in the muscles and good size. Just get your diet in place and this kind of training will give you amazing results.

    i like how he's not like the other stars, and he's doing big, compound movements, instead of bicep curls, triceps push-downs, etc...
