Well it's just Source Engine *(mind the fact that source engine is already 17 years old)* guns imported into Half-Life 2. They aren't made from scratch or high quality software like Unreal Engine 4

But lowering quality of models, recompiling them, and replacing sounds really isn’t as hard as it sounds, I’ve done it before, but I have never actually worked on a source mod itself, so I guess importing the assets is the trick but even then my friends who develop source mods make it look like its not that hard. But what do I know besides that.
Mod have a config menu to decrese the amount of weapon you can carry, so you can just drop them and don't use them.(and i belive there is also a config for weapons itself but i'm not sure)

In terms of enemy variety, this is what I wish launched with Half-Life 2. Even if the sandbox and amount of NPCs seems a little bloated I think this adds some much needed freshness to the Half-Life 2 I’ve been playing for years.
Yeah I feel like mmod is the true remaster of half life 2 in terms of gameplay and effect (just pretend that iron sights doesn't exist there). Combine it with new hd textures, sounds, music, graphics and fixed scripts and bugs and you will get a half life 2 definitive edition.

Huge fan of race-x and xen creatures being brought back, after learning about the beta having bullsquids and houndeyes but them being removed made the game feel like it was missing things, now the full effects of the black mesa incident have come back and im all for it, cause remember, the resonance cascade was a world wide crisis with creatures from xen being teleported in from portals around the world, and despite how strong the combine are im pretty sure they wouldn’t be able to get rid of ALL the race-x and xen creatures around the globe, if anything it adds a third threat to the combines power the first being Gordon and the second being the entirety of the rebels, it’s cool as fuck and I’m hyped for when it comes out.
The kick definitely seems a little bit overpowered. In SMOD, the mod the kick was influenced by, it takes like 3 or 4 kicks to kill a combine. The kick in that mod had physics taken into account though, when you take a running jump towards a combine THEN kick, it was an instant kill. The kick should feel powerful sure, but it should only instantly kill with enough speed. The only enemies it should kill at a standstill should be headcrabs or possibly manhacks.
