Thank you for this! Most "how to find your style" videos give tips like "Check pinterest", "Look at what you like the most in your closet", etc. But for someone like me who is completely lost when it comes to style, those tips don't really work. This one really helped though! Good job!
Hey guys! Decided to put this one together because I noticed I was continually getting questions from people doing my 30 Day Minimalism Challenge about how to define their personal style, and I thought this may help with that and the process of culling your wardrobe! :)
this really help. holy shit. any other blogs or videos would say to just look at my closet but you’re just saying “think about your colors” and “words that would describe yourself”, i’m really happy and satisfied that i’ll be able to know what my personal is!
Not kidding, watching your videos takes my mind off negative thoughts. I've been off medication for a while now due to dependance and you have no idea how much your videos help me with sorting my mind out one by one. ♡ Love you, you're an inspiration
This is genius. Finding your own style can be so subjective and even chaotic, but you broke down the process into such a methodical way that actually works. Thanks, Rachel!
Rachel gloed up so greatly I remember she had her bangs and looked like nothing of how she looks now. She looks so much more put together and healthy, very proud
I needed this - I'm culling my wardrobe and finding it so hard mainly because I'm losing weight and there's stuff I want to keep that don't fit right now!
finally a style tip on youtube that really works, and also really is visually entertaining to watch. thank you for your hard work on (esp.) editing (i have soft spot for quality editing like yours) rachel.
Where has your Chanel been all my life, you live the lifestyle I want to live from minimalism to ketogenic diet and I love that I found this Chanel as if the universe is giving me a guide
This is super important for me right now! I am in the process of decluttering and defining my style and palette and I learned so much from this video. Your style is no joke...goals!
So helpful!! I'm only just starting my minimalist journey using your 60 day challenge, and I had no idea how to even start creating a personal style. Thanks for getting me started :)
To be honest I was a bit sceptic when I saw the title of this video, but I am very surprised at the amount of helpful tips you gave, please continue the series ! x
I was expecting this to be another "check Pinterest" and "find what you feel comfortable in" but this was actually super helpful: I'm definitely a lists, charts and graphs girl so the pie chart and predefined colour layout is such a good idea! Thanks 💜
Hi Rachel; I love your videos, especially your minimalism series; and I am about to take a look at some of your other ones, like meal prep & exercise routines. How about doing a "What's In My Bag" type of video, about what you normally carry in your handbag with you on a daily basis. Or, if you don't normally carry a handbag (maybe you just carry a wallet, or clutch; or, if you're like a couple of my dearest friends, what you carry in your backpack or work bag/briefcase, etc).
This video could not have come at a better time for me. I was looking into your minimalism challenge but got stuck at this step. Thank you! This helps so much!
Love this! Pleaseee do more minimalist videos! I really needed this since I'm cleaning out my closet right now, it's so hard to get rid of clothes, even if I haven't worn them in forever 😅
hello again...this is my 7th day with you and thoroughly enjoying your past videos and looking forward to FINALLY (after all these years!) DECIDING WHAT MY "STYLE" IS.. versus hodgepodge from joy at all the "cute things" the gigantic flea markets we have locally in town! thanks for your videos... watching them is certainly TIME WELL SPENT! bye!
I just went through my wardrobe and got rid of things that I don't wear, didn't fit etc.. It was great. I still think I need to edit down so I loved this video. Please keep this up 💙
I love to bullet journal and those graphs are amazing. I have begun the cauling process but I feel a little lost when it comes to my style. Thanks for the visual charts, def going to add as my next journal entry so I can take it with me as a reminder next time I shop. Your the best!
that pie chart is really helpful for me to prioritise and visualise! thank you. and while i've also found that having a colour palette really does makes my wardrobe look more put together, i'm gna have to add a few more squares😅 i used to wear every colour of the rainbow growing up and i kinda still do, but in muted, dusty shades☺️ but black & white really are great "anchoring" colours❤️
OMG! You are so helpful I've been trying to firgure out my style and after I saw this it just heped me out! I am so happy about my results that I got and I am so confident now! So, I just want to say thank you xoxox
a very useful video. I was about to change my style into a more bohemian and minimal one but stil elegant due to my job. Now I can start it. Thanks Rachel and sorry for my English.
hi, First your video quality is very good and voice clear. I like your minimalist way of thinking and making. I just like to add that I think accessories color are very important. Because the most versatile color are the ones that everyone use like black white grey and blue. If you don't implement other colors you will may look good but also a lot like everyone else which I find sad (I like when you say don't copy in the video).mix styles and colors! Myself I like to mix styles to be a bit different like nice shirt with work boots (mainly classy mixed with casual) and use shoes color to stand out from just being like everyone else. You look beautiful but I prefer with longer or shorter hair ^^ just telling my mind Peace out from France :)
Awesome video :D I'm still a bit uncertain about my style and I'm currently just wearing few basic black and white pieces I've reduced my wardrobe to. I can't find affordable ethical clothing fitting my style so I want to start sewing again and this video really helps me to become clear about what I want and need :D Love your pinterest ♡
+Kanashi Atisuto 🖤🖤 I'm glad you enjoyed it! That's awesome that you're going to start sewing your own things! I used to make/DIY a lot when I had a bit more time, it's so fun!
Kanashi Atisuto I feel the same. my current style is thrift store dresses that I see into shirts. It works great for me. Sewing can be so unforgiving though :P
My only concern with my style is dressing edgy and out of the box, but unfortunately what I love wearing has become more and more trendy and mainstream duh. Absolutely incredible video once again Rachel 💜👌
I have been trying to go monochromatic b/w for a while, and through that I have realized that I just can't let go of my blue jeans, so I have decided that having soft blues as accents in my wardrobe, it is the perfect balance! :)
I love this video, it's so helpful! I watched your other minimalism videos but it seemed like such a big task to actually cull my clothes. This is a great starting point!
A useful app might be polyvore - it's an free app that lets you create collages of items (it's been around for years I think) - I use it to help me visualise and plan outfits. You can search for items similar to what you already own or even upload your own images, then you can play around and see what items look good together.
How many articles of clothing do you have? I've been inspired by you to really embrace this minimalist lifestyle and I'm still pretty lost with my wardrobe. Love your videos and think you're wonderful!!!
I'm definitely going to give the colour pallet idea a go! The audio on this video seemed kind of off? IDK if it's my speakers though... may I recommend the Zoom H1 Handy Portable Digital Recorder?
Loved the video! Needless to say that it was beautiful as always:) The tips you gave were really helpful! My personal problem is that i think that so many stiles are nice. That leads to me loving a style for some time and then I love another style even more. Do you have any idea of what could help me? I'm really trying to downsize but it's hard when I'm drawn into many directions. I want to establish a clean minimal wardrobe with similar main colors but I also think that the boho style for example is really pretty. It also depends on the season what style I might really enjoy. If you have any tip for me I would love to hear from you. I hope this is not confusing! You definitely are a style inspiration for me, thanks :)
My problem is I try out several different styles types. For example, on Monday I would wear a flannel and jeans, Friday might end up with me overalls, Saturday, a more sleek and chic type of look... I just like all of them but it makes things so much harder to organize.
Thank you for this! Most "how to find your style" videos give tips like "Check pinterest", "Look at what you like the most in your closet", etc. But for someone like me who is completely lost when it comes to style, those tips don't really work.

I really liked this video :) Please more minimalism videos :)
Do not give a shit about what people say about your editing and visual representations. It's the most original thing I've seen for years. XX
we are so bombarded with haul videos and what we need to buy. Your minimalist are beautiful and refreshing not to mention attainable
I love that you follow the same Instagram accounts as I (and I'm sure a lot of other people) do! Fongmin Liao, The Haut Persuit, FIGTNY.
show us your closet!
Love the visual representations with the main and secondary colours. I need those reminders to not buy crazy things I would never wear 🙈
+Kate Flint Hahha like when you see one thing that looks awesome and then you realise you have nothing else to wear it with 😂
Agree. The visual representations were super useful.
this really help. holy shit. any other blogs or videos would say to just look at my closet but you’re just saying “think about your colors” and “words that would describe yourself”, i’m really happy and satisfied that i’ll be able to know what my personal is!
Such a smart and concise (dare I say minimal) tutorial for this task. Love it.
Seska Lee Ha ha I see what u did there! ; )
Not kidding, watching your videos takes my mind off negative thoughts. I've been off medication for a while now due to dependance and you have no idea how much your videos help me with sorting my mind out one by one. ♡ Love you, you're an inspiration
you have inspired me so much, from trying to loose weight to finding my style. i lover your videos so much. thanks for all the inspiration.

Your minimalism series is my favourite. Question, what is the type of plant that sits on your night stand and rests on your bed post? Love!
This is why I love you you are so organized!! Even with personal styling. It excites me Hahah
I love to bullet journal and those graphs are amazing. I have begun the cauling process but I feel a little lost when it comes to my style. Thanks for the visual charts, def going to add as my next journal entry so I can take it with me as a reminder next time I shop. Your the best!
this could also be used to help design a room or an office. thanks so much Rachel, I'll be using this method often.
