I swear some camera men don't know the difference between a bass and a guitar when trying to emphasize a featured instrument. We missed out on a lot of historical riffs on bass and guitar.
This makes me feel goooood about being 56 last week and "gettin it then - cause I still feel that Funk NOW"! Yea, Rufus - (such a "Tight" group) and - "Chaka" - as good as it gets, then or now!!! Yep - pleased I got it and still get it. This Post deserves a HIGH FIVE & THANK YOU! LISTEN AGAIN ...: -) If you don't love this FUNK - I have a hard time believin', you could know hwhere 1 is"!
@@caracasboogie we lived during that musical time when funk was popular and groups that played funk were either tight on it, that style or they weren't a group worth listening to.
Brings me back! I watched Soul Train every Saturday afternoon on WDCA 20 in Washington DC when I was a kid! I’m white and grew up way down in the country in SoMD so I probably wasn’t your typical Soul Train watcher, but I didn’t know or care! My best friend Wade Green was black and we compared notes on Monday about the dances and the clothes lol! It was so different back then and I miss those days! And Wade if you ever read this... please reach out to me and say hi! We’ve got about 50 years of catching up to do ✊🏿✊🏻
Since this group first come out I always thought the white dude was Rufus and this was his group till now. I was a kid when this on soul train back in the day
Chaka Khan & Rufus is for life - that sound never goes bad - I should know - The first listening back in the beginning of the 70's in Sävedalen in Sweden of all places, where my family and I lived. That shows that rythm & soul is everywhere to find.

This was a recorded version that was shortened for tv time. Missed the guitar solo portion cut off.

First rate FUNK! Very rare female FUNK song. Chaka'sDynamic vocals and a ELECTRIFYING guitar solo grooves me.
